  1. If it is going to be this cook, we cannot afford cloudiness at all.
    Clouds, clouds, GO AWAY!

  2. Not posting this since its way out there but GFS for a few runs been showing instability for thunderstorms in the 5/26 5/27 period. Even if there are no thunderstorms in that time period its a sign to me that were heading into a warmer pattern with some humidity just prior to the unofficial start of summer.

  3. Anyone wanna go to northwestern VT or northeastern NY on April 8 2024? Total Solar Eclipse. 😀

Now let me just check accuweather.com’s extended forecast to see what kind of sky condition to expect. 😛

    1. I’m in. One of my favorite places in the world. Spent a huge part of my youth on Isle la Motte, VT.

  4. 1) A small but vigorous whirlwind formed in a clear sky is called _____
    A. Zephyr
    B. Dust Devil
    C. Mesocyclone
    D. Williwaw

    Answer later today.

  5. In most cases, the greater the difference in air pressure over an area, the greater the _____
    A. Wind Speed
    B. Temperature Change
    C. Pollen Count
    D. Flood Potential

    Answer later today.

  6. The May 18, 1980 volcanic explosion of Mt. ST. Helens hurled rocks and solid ash in a “stone wind” up to ___________
    A. 75 MPH
    B. 150 MPH
    C. 300 MPH
    D. 600 MPH

    Answer later today.

    1. That’s why they invented jackets. It was a great day. I’m at a carnival with my son right now. Great time. 🙂

        1. Tough to golf around my house today. The wind was ripping most of the day. I didn’t find the temp too bad, but the wind was fairly fierce. I think I hit 61 at some point, but spent most of the day in he mid 50’s.

              1. You accused me a year ago of doing no more than sitting on the deck. Last week you said I have an eezie peezie life because I often reference sitting on the deck and enjoying the weather. Tonight you “figured” when I said I sat out listening to the wind.

Wanna know what I was doing a year ago…enjoying life with Mac. Wanna know what I’ve been doing this week for my easie peezie life…six months after he passed away….sitting and enjoying the noises of nature I shared with him…among the tears and smiles. Charlie …you disgust me because you deliberately manipulate. I’ll be back if the day comes that you are no longer here because no one deserves your crap and I sure as heck respect myself enough to know I don’t. I’m not looking for sympathy. I think anyone here knows that. I am blessed for all I had and for what I have. I simply cannot and will not stand for salt poured in a very raw wound

TK I’m sorry. I can’t deal with him any more. I love what you do here and feel badly. And yes, I’ve said this before. I’ll always read your forecasts and will say thank you now for all you do. But he has pushed too many buttons….and he knows exactly what he’s doing.

    1. I was counting on you to choose williwaw….I think it may be a golfing term

      How was golfing?

  7. 1. B
    2. A
    3. B
Hope everyone had a great Sunday! Sweater/jacket weather for sure, but it was still a beauty!

  8. (B)y coincidence I saw one of these in the parking lot at Wingaersheek Beach last summer.

(A)n easy one. Everyone should get this right. 🙂

(C)an you imagine what it must be like to see that in person (hopefully from a very safe distance)?

    1. You saw a williwaw? Wow

Visited mt St Helens when we went to Spokane years ago. Ash still lined the highway a huge distance away

      1. No, but I did see a dust devil. 🙂

The scars that volcano left were amazing, and she’s stirring a little bit recently.

        1. I have been following her recently. My kids all have ash from her eruption….just as a reminder of the power of nature and the earth

  9. CPC has finally figured out the precipitation forecast and put New England in below normal precipitation for both 6-10 and 8-14 days. They had been carrying lots of wet weather in many of their previous outlooks. They are showing the pattern flip there too by way of above normal temps for both periods.

CPC’s next seasonal outlook update is this coming Thursday (May 19). I suspect they will post maps that indicate above normal temperatures for June, July, August, September, and October for all of the Northeast, near to below normal temperatures November through January across the northern states, with a milder trend late in the winter but hanging around normal overall through spring 2017. I also suspect they will indicate drier than average weather throughout the entire period.

  10. Ok, it’s one thing to reply “I love Logan” even though you’ve trashed it a million times, and when your only real reason for saying it is because you know that your comments tend to ruffle feathers. But what does that have to do with the weather? It’s one thing to repeat the same comments over and over…for years. It’s one thing to pretty much constantly go off topic of the blog and make the only related comments at the very least a quiet jab at someone’s opinion for something you don’t agree with. Etc. Etc. Etc.
    Etc.
    Etc.
    Etc.
If you want a full reminder of the type of user you’ve been, then go back and read that monumental list that I spent 4 hours preparing and posted for all to see, and hopefully for you to learn from. If you ever did learn anything from it, it didn’t stick. Just in the last couple weeks, you had to make it a point to say you were not trying to offend or be rude so many times. You are the ONLY person that feels the need to do this on a routine basis, and there’s a reason for it, and you know the reason.

It’s entirely another thing to insult someone the way you did. It’s time to go, Charlie. You crossed the line and went way too far onto the other side this time. The decision is made, and I want everyone to know it, which is why I made this post. But I’ve had enough. I don’t want to have to deal with you anymore.

I did not make this blog so you could insult people and I did not make this blog so I had to constantly monitor everything you say. I’ve been too forgiving. But it’s done.

    Moving on…
