Generally weak weather systems, typical for August, will dominate, with a passing trough bringing some unsettled weather for Saturday before weak high pressure dominates with several days of dry weather.
REMAINDER OF AFTERNOON: Filtered sun fades late. Temperatures 75-85, coolest coast. Wind light S to SE with coastal seabreezes.
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy. Showers arriving around or after midnight. Lows 62-67. Wind light S.
SATURDAY: Mostly cloudy with episodes of showers in the morning, heaviest more likely southeastern MA and RI. Partly sunny with isolated showers and a slight risk of thunderstorms afternoon. Highs 72-77. Wind light SE.
SATURDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy. Slight chance of showers evening. Better chance of showers overnight. Lows 62-67. Wind light SE to S.
SUNDAY: Partly cloudy to mostly sunny. Highs 78-85. Wind W 5-15 MPH.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny. Lows in the 60s. Highs from the upper 70s to middle 80s.
TUESDAY: Mostly sunny. Lows in the 60s. Highs from the upper 70s to middle 80s.

DAYS 6-10 (AUGUST 16-20)
Weak high pressure should continue the dry weather August 16-18. A weak trough may result in a few showers/thunderstorms over the weekend of August 19-20. Temperatures near to slightly above normal.

DAYS 11-15 (AUGUST 21-25)
High pressure regains control for most of this period with drier weather and temperatures near to above normal.

    Sunny and 88 here in Palm Beach, Aruba. It’s been very windy every day with sustained winds 20-30mph. Been here since late Sunday and have only had two 10 min showers all week. Typical pattern for this island!

  8. I do not like the fact that Elliot was susspended for 6 games, but if Tom Brady got suspended for deflating footballs with little to no evidence, then people accused of misconduct should be suspended as well.

    1. Misconduct is way too lax of a word. If it was your mother or sister or daughter he beat u would feel differently. Five counts in a 6 month period. He’s lucky he’s not rotting in jail.

      1. I agree except…and it is not easy….he was neither arrested nor charged from what I have read. I hope I’m wrong since we have this thing called innocent until proven guilty. Or due process…..maybe someone can explain why he did break a rule and deserves the suspension. For what it is worth, I think anyone found guilty of abuse should be out of the league.

      2. it is the word that the NFL is using, thats why I used it. There is no criminal investigation as they dropped it. Is it guilty until proven innocent or innocent until proven guilty? I do understand that he has had many other counts, and I believe thats why the nfl suspended him the 6 games.

        1. i also say if brady who did nothing wrong, got suspended, anyone that does anything wrong outside of the field should as well.

  9. I thought the Elliot suspension was going to be four games. I was surprised with the six game suspension.

  10. From what I heard the fact Elliot got suspended six games domestic violence did happen. The NFL is coming down on hard on this after they were criticized for only giving Ray Rice a two game suspension for a beating a woman which you could clearly see in a video.

  11. The hypocrisy that permeates the NFL commissioner’s office is infuriating. Whether it’s concussions, performance-enhancing drugs, or domestic violence, they’re never consistent or honest in their policies or implementation thereof. And quite frankly, the owners are to blame for a lot of this as well as the bottom line has almost always trumped player health or spouses’/girlfriends’ safety. Now they decide to clamp down on domestic violence (as they should). But, where were they in Ray Rice’s case, or Josh Brown? I know. Focusing all their attention on deflategate to appease 31 out of 32 owners.

  12. By the way, huge game being played in New York. Into the bottom of the 8th the Yankees were down and out in this one. Dead in the water. But, the Sox bullpen (normally dependable this year) has let them down big time. The AL East race will be a dogfight until early October. Exciting to see two old rivals duke it out.

  13. Bad loss for the Red Sox. Yankees were dead and will see if this sparks the Yankees to a series win and they take two of three or sweep which would kill a Red Sox fan as this is the second chance they have had to play the Yankees and bury them.

    2. That immediately presented itself as a bad run to me before it even picked up the tropical.

      And remember the caution about the GFS with tropicals now. Far worse than before, and before it was bad.

    1. TK. Will any storms be later in the day? I was going to do an errand that will have me on the road until about 3:00 and hate running into storms while driving. Thank you.

      1. I don’t think anything is going to happen at all today. Remote risk after 10PM tonight and I’m evening having my doubts about that.
