  1. Re-Post

Good morning. Slow these days at good ole WHW.

Starting out pretty mild here as we are up to 57 in JP with DP 43.

    Another beauty on tap.

Much running around today and tomorrow is Easter.

Waiting to watch SNL tonight with Jimmy Fallon hosting with Harry Styles
as the musical guest (and sure to be in a couple of skits as well). Harry was formerly
    with One Direction.

For those so inclined, he has a moving new solo tune out called β€œSign of the Times”
Here is a link. IF you chose to listen, really listen as the words are very moving.

    1. It was amazing. I am not a fan of animals in captivity but don’t know if there is a reason she is there. But did learn she is 15 which is around top age of giraffes in the wild. In captivity, 5-10 years can be added to her life.

  2. most animals in zoos are rescue that will be released back or could not live in the wild due to injury or animals were bread in captivity

    1. also zoos are an educational experia ce it is one thing to read about. it it is another to see them seeing them in one way or another makes easier for conservationmany

      1. Agree Matt. Some are far better than others…hopefully, most, are more interested in the education than the almighty dollar.

  3. Thanks TK. I still see no mention of snow in the forecast so I was totally right over a month ago when I said I wouldnt see another inch of accumulation. πŸ˜‰

    1. I joke today because on April 1st the GFS had widespread snow for April 15th. Now I’m sitting here doing some spring cleaning on a sunny 65 degree day and looking at potentially record breaking temps tomorrow.

  4. As quiet as I’ve seen it here. We must need a snowstorm πŸ˜‰

66 and wind into the 20s. Extreme fire danger warning.

  5. Monitoring the scanner. Quite a few brush fires in the area (Taunton) including three at the same time in Kingston. Pretty good one in the last hour in Berkley.

  6. Hi Philip…
If I understood your question correctly from last Wednesday, you wanted to know about multiple snow events in April. Did I get that right?

I did some digging. (no pun intended)…

Since 1891, there have been 18 multiple snow events in April in Boston. Most were just two events. The most recent was in 2003. The latest April snows were April 28-29, 1987 with a total of 4.1″.
There were four very small episodes in 1907 totalling 3.1″
There have only been two double-digit, April storms in Boston history:
    April 1, 1997: 22.4″
    April 6-7, 1982: 13.3″

I hope this answers your question, Philip!

  7. Despite the dry week, we are still +1.58″ for rainfall almost halfway through April.

  8. Happy Easter and Happy Spring to all! I hope everyone celebrating tomorrow has a beautiful day with family and friends and that spectacular forecast!!!!

    1. Thanks Dr S. I think there have been jumping bunny sightings in this area. I believe I saw some white paw prints a bit ago

  9. the mother giraffe is rejecting the baby this is unfortunately common in some species in captivity. This makes it so that a human becomes a parent taker

    1. Matt, Curious to know if your comment is based on your own observation, or did you actually hear this from the one of AAP’s Veterinarians or staff members?
