DAYS 1-5 (APRIL 3-7)
No big changes from yesterday’s ideas, so this discussion will be more or less a summary of that, advancing one day. Our pattern is unsettled, with frequent temperature changes as a frontal boundary is pulled this way and that way by the weather systems governing the pattern. We became entrenched in the marine-chilled air yesterday and remain there as today starts, but a warm front, causing a few showers and areas of fog and drizzle this morning will pass by and lead to improved weather – breaking clouds and milder air – this afternoon. Looking for lots of clouds, breaks of sun, and temps rising through the 50s to around 60 at Fenway for the Red Sox home opener. Tonight, we stay mild, but a cold front moves through the region as low pressure passes north of our region early Saturday. High pressure building quickly in behind that departing system in eastern Canada will help drive a northeasterly air flow back into our region Saturday with a drastic cool-down after a mild start. I do expect the day to be generally dry with no more than an isolated shower with the front and patchy drizzle later in the day or at night with the increased low level moisture from the ocean. Sunday starts much the way Saturday ended, and another low passing to our north will drag a quick warm front / cold front combo through. This time the warm up will be quite brief and also dampened, literally and figuratively, by fairly widespread shower activity. Once this front clears the region Sunday evening, we’ll see drier but chilly air arrive and persist through Monday, along with a gusty breeze. Tuesday, along comes the next upper low and attendant surface disturbance, along with below normal temperatures, bringing us the chance of a little bit of rain, sleet, and even wet snow, though this does not look like a significant system at this point in time.
TODAY: Cloudy morning including areas of fog and drizzle along with isolated to scattered passing showers, favoring eastern MA and southeastern NH. Clouds break for partial sun afternoon. Highs 48-55 coast, 56-63 inland, occurring mid to late afternoon. Wind E to SE up to 10 MPH morning, shifting to SW 5-15 MPH afternoon.
TONIGHT: Variably cloudy. Patchy fog. Lows 47-54. Wind SW 5-15 MPH.
SATURDAY: Partial sun in the morning gives way to a cloudy afternoon. Slight chance of a shower. Areas of drizzle especially near the coast later in the day. Highs 48-55 South Coast, 55-62 elsewhere in the morning, then falling into the 40s from northeast to southwest during the afternoon. Wind SW to variable, shifting to N and NE 5-15 MPH with higher gusts.
SATURDAY NIGHT: Cloudy. Patchy drizzle. Areas of fog. Lows 37-44. Wind NE up to 10 MPH.
SUNDAY: Mainly cloudy. Areas of fog and drizzle early. Showers becoming more likely morning and midday, before tapering off northwest to southeast later in the day. Highs 48-55 South Coast, 56-63 elsewhere, occurring around midday. Wind E under 10 MPH early, shifting to SW increasing to 5-15 MPH, then shifting to NW at similar speeds later in the day.
SUNDAY NIGHT: Breaking clouds. Lows 37-44. Wind NW 5-15 MPH.
MONDAY: Sun / cloud mix. Highs 50-57. Wind NW 5-15 MPH, higher gusts.
MONDAY NIGHT: Increasing clouds. Lows 33-40. Wind variable 5-15 MPH.
TUESDAY: Mostly cloudy. Periods of light rain, potentially mixed with sleet and / or wet snow. Highs 36-43. Wind variable to N 5-15 MPH.
DAYS 6-10 (APRIL 8-12)
Springtime pattern of changeable weather continues. High pressure builds in with fair but cool weather April 8, then slides offshore with a warm-up and continued fair weather April 9. Frontal system brings clouds and a shower chance followed by fair, cooler weather April 10, before a potential weekend warm-up April 11-12.
DAYS 11-15 (APRIL 13-17)
Up and down temperatures, a couple of unsettled periods of weather during mid month.
Good morning and thank you TK
40 here
Ocean: 40
WORDLE: 5
Day starting out miserable, not fit for humans. I know improvement is coming, but this is getting ridiculous!!!!
Will this crap ever end???
This is NO place to live in the Spring!!! Can we jump ahead to July????
No Thanks. I love spring. My birthday is in May. My mom’s favorite season was spring. I’m keeping it right where it is.
Thanks TK! Yesterday was one of the most miserable days of spring I can remember – was at a high school baseball game and it was colder when any high school football game I was at last season. Living along the coast hardens the soul a bit in the spring…
Yesterday was beautiful.
I concur! Totally miserable!!
Thanks TK !
Wordle: 5
The pattern featuring this front, with major temp changes, I am really enjoying overall.
I’m in the camp yuck for yesterday. Upper 30s and no sun and that raw wind is just too much after having had a real winter. We’ve earned better 🙂
Wordle 5
5 seems to be the score of the day for Wordle, at least so far.
Great 5s all.
Wordle 5 also.
Party in the 5 car!!!!
It’s a heat wave. Up to 41 here!!!
Thank you, TK. Up 2 degrees from our low of 36.
I have always loved the rebirth of spring. And I love too and understand it being a special memory for TK and others. And I truly appreciate that every individual has different reactions to hot, cold, and in between. I for one feel better physically in colder weather.
All that said and as you know I don’t rarely wear jackets and even more rarely feel cold, but the wind yesterday cut right through you.
I got Wordle in 4 today.
I can hear the party in the next car! 🙂
Great job! C’mon down and join us!
Awesome 4
Thanks TK
I love you TK but you are nuts if you like this lol. I don’t mind a few days here or there but overall I hate early April. I am good with May.
What was hard this winter for me was that we had a number of days of just enough snow to be a nuisance mixed with a few significant storms. That seems to be continuing with a number of drizzle days and a few significant rain storms.
Nah. I’m not nuts. I’m alive.
I don’t wish days away because of the weather. They don’t come back. Life is fleeting.
I enjoy every day I have.
I’m the nut in the whw family. And I absolutely agree that life is too short to wish even a minute away. But I can say for certain that the weather will never have me wishing any day away.
Thank you TK!
Wordle: 4 and I will be definitely visiting the 5 car.
Nice!
Awesome,Sue!
Up to 45. A ways to go yet!!!
Thanks, TK
Up to 51. The sun is fighting hard to make an appearance!
2026 Fenway Park opener!
“We’re born again, there’s new grass on the field.”
Temperature is VERY SLOW to rise, even though the wind is
from the correct direction, SW!!! beats the crap out of the
NE wind!!! We NEED the SUN!!!!!
Current temperature here in JP, 47
I believe our next mainly sunny day will be next Wednesday.
I’m at 43F. Despite the southwesterlies, I’m not sure I’ll make to 50F.
Sox off to their worst start in years, maybe 6 or 7. Obviously there is an entire season to go, but would like to see a win today.
DING DING DING!!!!
Just made 50 here!!!!

Can see the disk of the sun, from time to time. Warming quickly to the mid 50s now. Very pleasant outside.
We hit 50 a bit after noon when the sun appeared and are now at 55
Speaking of life being too short, I love the purple bg color. It was my mom’s favorite color
Other than a few, high wispies, it is now sunny and mild to warm. Nice !!
Local airport reporting 59F.
DING DING DING!!!!
60 here and mostly sunny!!
64 here. And sunny.
Anyone know how 1-3ish looks for rain Sunday. Yep. I know I’m putting you on the spot
Unfortunately those look like wet hours right now.
We have risen to 66 in what is turning out to be a fantastic day!!!!
