Sunday April 12 2026 Forecast (7:29AM)

DAYS 1-5 (APRIL 12-16)

High pressure sits over our region today with much lighter wind than yesterday, but allowing for coastal sea breezes to develop as it tries to warm up from abundant sun, before it gives way to increasing clouds. These clouds will fan across the sky from the west in advance of a warm front which passes by tonight. Shower chances will be greatest near the MA / NH border with this feature. The front will bring in much warmer air for Monday, though the southwesterly air flow we’re in will produce a cooling influence along the South Coast, coming off the ocean water to the south of New England. A trough will make a run through the region Monday night, at which time I cannot rule out a passing isolated shower. We stay in the warm air Tuesday, but again with the cooling influence at the South Coast with southwest to south wind off the ocean. A low pressure disturbance passing by to our north Tuesday night will bring the remnants of a batch of showers and thunderstorms moving from the Great Lakes through New York into New England, so a shower is possible. The cold front trailing this system will bend around into its springtime back-door front orientation, driven by high pressure nosing into the Canadian Maritimes and Maine behind that disturbance. This means that at least southeastern NH and eastern MA can end up much cooler for Wednesday. The warm air tries to make a come-back into these areas by Thursday, but as we get out that far into the forecast time frame the details of those kinds of changes are harder to forecast. Check updates as we move through the coming days!

TODAY: Sunshine followed by clouds. Highs 48-53 coast, 54-59 inland. Wind variable up to 10 MPH with developing coastal sea breezes.

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy. Chance of a shower mainly southern NH / northern MA. Lows 45-52 evening, rising slowly overnight. Wind SE up to 10 MPH evening, shifting to SW 10-20 MPH overnight.

MONDAY: Mostly cloudy. A shower possible, mainly late-day and favoring southern NH / northern MA. Highs 48-55 Nantucket / Martha’s Vineyard, 55-62 South Coast, 63-70 most other areas except 66-73 interior valleys. Wind SW 5-15 MPH, higher gusts.

MONDAY NIGHT: Variably cloudy. Chance of a shower southern NH and northern MA in the evening. Lows 48-55. Wind SW 5-15 MPH.

TUESDAY: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy. Highs 55-62 South Coast, 63-70 MA South Shore and Cape Ann, 71-78 elsewhere. Wind SW 5-15 MPH.

TUESDAY NIGHT: Variably cloudy. A shower possible, favoring southern NH and northern MA. Lows 48-55. Wind SW 5-15 MPH.

WEDNESDAY: Partly sunny. Highs 55-62 South Coast, 62-69 MA South Shore and Cape Ann, 70-77 elsewhere, but likely turning sharply cooler at least NH Seacoast and eastern MA during the day. Wind SW 5-15 MPH likely shifting to NE and E at least NH Seacoast and eastern MA during the day.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Variably cloudy. Chance of a shower. Lows 45-52 except 52-59 interior southern MA. Wind variable under 10 MPH.

THURSDAY: Variably cloudy. Chance of a shower. Highs 55-62 South Coast, 63-70 MA South Shore and Cape Ann, 71-78 elsewhere. Wind variable becoming SW 5-15 MPH.

DAYS 6-10 (APRIL 17-21)

Battle zone here between cool high pressure in eastern Canada, a warmer high pressure ridge to our south, with a frontal boundary providing a path for disturbances in between. Leaning warmer April 17, cooler April 18, warmer April 19, then a stronger push of cooler air from the north and west after that. Shower chances exist mostly around the time of air mass changes.

DAYS 11-15 (APRIL 22-26)

One ore two opportunities for wet weather in a variable temperatures pattern heading into late month.

  1. Good morning TK and thank you!

Though near the coast, I’ll put my over / under at 51F. I don’t mind being off by 1 degree but of course, I’ve been off by more everyday this week. I think it’s called easterlies.

  2. Good morning and thank you TK.

52 after being up to 53 following morni g low of 38

    Ocean: 41

WORDLE: 5. Permission to board the 5 car please.
    After 2 3s and a 2’I have had 3 5s in a row.

How strong will the sea breeze be today. With Ocean at 41, the potential is for it be be pretty chilly near the coast.I bet at least Logan falls back well into the 40s. Likely not as severe as one moves back from the coast. Will be watching.

    1. AS of 9 am,
Logan was at 46 with the wind already East at 5 mph. How strong that wind gets will determine the high temperature.

  3. Thank you, TK. 44 up from a low of 31.

I’ll go with 61 for here on the last day of a masters that I’ve really enjoyed. Would be fun to see Rory with a back to back. But hoping Scottie moves up and would love to see a win for him also

      1. Wow! you 2 great Scores!!! Tom and I will take up residence in the CABOOSE!!!! Please send snacks and beverages. Thank you. 🙂

  4. The C’s locked up the #2 seed on Friday.
B’s got themselves a wild card spot yesterday despite their loss.
The Sox’s bats woke up and got a good win.
    The Revs won yesterday 1-0.
The Fleet unfortunately lost in their 1st TD Garden game.
The Masters leaderboard has certainly tightened up.

    1. It’s interesting that in both one division in the East and one division in the West in the NHL there is a team in the top 3 that has not clinched a spot because there are two wildcard teams with more points, and a few teams that sit outside the cut line with a couple games left that can still get in.

The teams that are most definitely NOT in the playoffs from the NHL as of right now…

      EAST
      Detroit Red Wings
      New Jersey Devils
      Florida Panthers
      Toronto Maple Leafs
      New York Rangers

      WEST
      St. Louis Blues
      Seattle Kraken
      Calgary Flames
      Chicago Blackhawks
      Vancouver Canucks

Those ten teams can plan their tee times already. 😛
