DAYS 1-5 (AUGUST 30-SEPTEMBER 3)
Transition day today as a cold front crosses the region. It will still be rather warm and humid especially through early afternoon and the front may trigger a few showers and thunderstorms as it crosses, first to the northwest, then later toward southeastern MA and RI, and by evening you’ll notice a cooling/drying process underway. It will never get bone-dry as the air will be coming from the northeast due to the orientation of high pressure to the north. But in comparison to recent weather, it will be very refreshing and in full effect through Friday. The Labor Day Weekend will feature a slow transition as this high slips to the southeast, starting on the cooler side Saturday and turning out quite warm and more humid by its conclusion.
