Thursday April 9 2026 Forecast (7:18AM)

DAYS 1-5 (APRIL 9-13)

A cold and in some areas frosty morning with high pressure overhead providing clear sky and light wind. You’ll notice a better recovery than what we had yesterday as many areas reach or exceed 50 later today under abundant sunshine. High pressure settling to the south does not allow it to get as cold tonight, and pushes a further warm-up tomorrow, with many areas – away from the influence of the South Coast cooling with a southwest wind – better today’s high temps by a half dozen to one dozen degrees (many 60+ readings). This warm-up will be held up though as a cold front passes through Friday night, trailing low pressure moving across southern Canada. This front keeps Friday night quite mild but likely brings a few showers through the region, primarily overnight – i.e., the early hours of Saturday morning. Saturday’s weather will be slightly cooler and breezy, featuring sun and passing clouds as high pressure builds our way from the west. This high will sit over our region on Sunday which provides sun and light wind, but allows for the development of cooling coastal sea breezes, and they are quite notable at this point in the season when the water temps are still mainly in the 40s. So, if you’re afternoon walk is along the coastline on Sunday, be ready for that chill. You’ll also notice an increase in high to mid level clouds as Sunday goes on, ahead of an approaching warm front. This front goes by at night and may produce brief light rain, setting up a warmer day Monday with a southwesterly air flow ahead of an approaching cold front. That front may have limited moisture to work with, however, and the shower chance is likely to be limited while clouds may be abundant. Also keep in mind that a southwesterly air flow will once again keep the South Coast cooler than the remainder of the region.

TODAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 52-59 except 45-52 South Coast. Wind S to SW 5-15 MPH.

TONIGHT: Mostly clear. Lows 38-45. Wind SW 5-15 MPH.

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy. Highs 63-70 except 55-62 South Coast and 48-55 Cape Cod / Islands. Wind SW 10-20 MPH.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy. Chance of showers, especially overnight. Lows 41-48. Wind SW 5-15 MPH shifting to N.

SATURDAY: Sun and passing clouds. Highs 55-62. Wind N 5-15 MPH, higher gusts.

SATURDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear. Lows 45-52. Wind variable under 10 MPH.

SUNDAY: Sun eventually gives way to clouds. Highs 53-60 coast, 60-67 inland. Wind variable up to 10 MPH with coastal sea breezes.

SUNDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy. Chance of rain. Lows 45-52. Wind SE to S up to 10 MPH.

MONDAY: Partly sunny. A shower possible. Highs 48-55 Nantucket / Martha’s Vineyard, 55-62 South Coast, 63-70 most other areas except 66-73 interior valleys. Wind SW 5-15 MPH, higher gusts.

DAYS 6-10 (APRIL 14-18)

Warmer weather hangs on to start the period April 14. Watching high pressure in eastern Canada to send a push of cooler air this way by the middle to latter portion of next week. May be an interruption or two with unsettled weather but the majority of the time looks precipitation-free. Elevated brush fire risk likely.

DAYS 11-15 (APRIL 19-23)

Overall pattern looks variable in temperature but on the drier side. Details to be determined.

  1. Good morning and thank you TK

33 after low of 30. Only made it to 42 here yesterday.

    OCEAN: 40

    WORDLE: 2

Hoping to go fishing in the next few days as my favorite spots have been freshly stocked with rainbow trout.

    1. Really rolling on Wordle, JpDave ! I can’t wait to see where you the train today.

Glad to hear your favorite spots are stocked, beautiful weather upcoming to get out there. Good luck !!

    2. Wow. Amazing 2.

I had three guesses at midnight and wordle shut down with a this page not available message. I’m currently battling with nyt so thought it shut me down. I signed up for $4/mo for a year in December. This month they charged Me 25.

But I just saw fb posts from others who lost access too

      1. Nice. I thought that you might be one of the ones to get it in 2.
It will be The Good Doctor or Sue. 🙂

  2. The water temps off the west coast of Florida are only around 70. Very slow to warm after there cold winter. Probably 3-5 degrees below Normal the same as us up here.

    1. 47 here. Going with 58 here for the over / under and I would adjust yours to 48. 🙂 Expect wind off of the ocean at your location.
      Just my humble opinion.

  3. I got a kick out of the front page of today’s Boston Herald:

    IT’S A MIRACLE
Sox win 2 in a row for first time this season

Along with a photo of 3 players in the outfield hugging each other as if they “won it all”.

    1. Well, winning 2 in a row is certainly better than losing them.
BUT, this team as currently constituted is going NOWHERE!!!

  4. 49 here. Getting there. Long way to go to hit my over/under.
Looks like It won’t make it, but there is plenty of time of string sunshine, so we shall see.
