No changes to the general outlook today as the Bermuda High pattern holds through this period. Daily opportunities exist for isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms – though mostly isolated. Also, as previously mentioned, placement, coverage, and timing (occurring potentially outside the “afternoon to early evening time frame”) can be influenced by a couple of passing small-scale disturbances, so staying “weather-aware” at all times is a good idea, especially if you have outdoor plans. Very warm to hot air and high humidity will also be the rule, so plan accordingly (sun protection, hydration) if outside a lot. The greatest shower and thunderstorm chances are today and Saturday with a lower chance Sunday and Monday. Tuesday, a cold front sweeping across the region brings a better chance of widespread shower and thunderstorm activity, but it’s a little too soon to say much more about this at this time.

West to east flow with a more up-and-down temperature pattern evolving. Best chance of unsettled weather from a passing disturbance / frontal system is mid period.
DAYS 11-15 (AUGUST 17-21)
A general west to east flow with a couple passing disturbances bringing shower and t-storm chances. Temperatures slightly variable, averaging fairly close to normal for the period.

Slight. 1 or two degrees per day after today. This air mass is not particularly hot. It’s very warm. It’s just very humid as its origin is tropical.

TK mentioned heat warning changes recently. I doubt dreaming about snow is part of nws criteria I couldn’t find it, and cannot remember what he said so I looked it up. Very interesting. I think I like extreme better than excessive

Recently I have taken my win rate from 89% to 91%, still rather poor, but trending in the right direction.
However, over the last 70 games, I have had a streak of 46 and now currently on a streak of 23 games. That is 69 successes out of 70 games for a win percentage of: 98.6%, a bit more like what I expect for myself.
That tells me that I have actually improved my wordle performance. I attribute it to EXPERIENCE, PERSISTENCE and PATIENCE and also PAYING MORE ATTENTION.
Just thought I would share that with all fellow Wordlers.

El Niño will do that. Not expecting anywhere near the same amount of snow (especially at the coastline) as last winter. Inland probably a different story. We’ll see.

My wife thought the humidity wasn’t as bad this morning, and sure enough, Worcester’s dp is reporting 68F. Also, some light W and NW winds this morning as opposed to yesterday’s SW winds.

The Bermuda high has us safe from the smoke from now, but when we go to more of a zonal flow, there is an awful lot of smoke out in the western third of the country.

Even though aloft, the Bermuda High is in complete control, I have to think the DP drop (4-7F) along and near the Mass Pike, as well as a temporary wind shift to NW, and then add in those post sunset thunderstorms last night, some kind of disturbance/DP boundary came through.
I think, covering the short term, it’s probably temporary and expect the sfc winds to get back to SW and the dps to return to the low-mid 70s before dropping some again later in the weekend. To maybe rise again one last time before a stronger front early next work week.
Logan DP has fallen to 66.

Land breeze is a little bit more prominent today than it was yesterday.
This is why you have seen Logan’s dew point come down a little bit and their temperature go up a little bit.
They report 90 although it is actually 89.
Although they will probably really hit 90 in the next hour or so.
They are still vulnerable to seabreezing before the afternoon is over.
The record high for the date of 98 is most definitely very very safe. 😉

All the central and western MA OBs at 7pm show dps have returned to above 70F and I can confirm that by feel. The somewhat lighter feel to the air has been replaced by air that feels 100 pounds to move through.

Quite the lightning show right now, I’m on the edge of the rain , but some loud thunder and constant lightning. The storm just exploded right over my area just preceding the main batch to my south west.
