DAYS 1-5 (AUGUST 25-29)
The upper low and associated cool pool of air will finish its trek across our region during today, but not before it helps initiate another round of diurnal clouds, some of which can grow enough to produce a few showers, particularly west of I-95, from mid afternoon to sunset. Otherwise, today will be quite a nice one. High pressure builds in and brings a spendid summer day Wednesday. Thursday, the high slides offshore and a southwesterly air flow brings in higher humidity, while a disturbance approaches from the west. The latter, combined with the former, increases our chance of late-day showers and thunderstorms, which then can be around at night and into early Friday as the initial disturbance passes through the region. A trailing cold front can trigger another shower or thunderstorm during the afternoon hours on Friday, which will be a warm and humid day. High pressure builds in behind this with fabulous weather to start the weekend on Saturday – lots of sun, mild air, and lower humidity.
TODAY: Abundant sun to start, then a sun / cloud mix with a shower possible west of I-95, mainly southwestern NH and central MA, from mid afternoon to sunset. Highs 75-82. Dew point under 60. Wind W 5-15 MPH.
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy. Lows 56-63. Dew point under 55. Wind W under 10 MPH.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 78-85. Dew point heads for 60. Wind variable to S up to 10 MPH.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy. Fog patches. Lows 60-67. Dew point near 60. Wind SW under 10 MPH.
THURSDAY: Partly sunny. Scattered showers and thunderstorms possible mid afternoon on, favoring areas west of I-95. Highs 80-87. Dew point climbs into 60s. Wind SW 5-15 MPH.
THURSDAY NIGHT: Variably cloudy. Scattered showers with possible thunderstorms. Areas of fog. Lows 62-69. Dew point 60+. Wind SW to variable up to 10 MPH
FRIDAY: Lots of clouds, patchy fog, and a shower threat early. A sun / cloud mix follows with the chance of a shower or thunderstorm in the afternoon. Highs 78-85. Dew point 60+ but may fall later in the day. Wind SW to W 5-15 MPH.
FRIDAY NIGHT: Clearing. Lows 58-65. Dew point falls into 50s. Wind W 5-15 MPH.
SATURDAY: Sun and passing clouds. Highs 77-84. Dew point in 50s. Wind W 5-15 MPH.
