DAYS 1-5 (OCTOBER 3-7)
The weekend will be decent, with today the pick if you enjoy more sunshine. We’ll have plenty along with some passing fair weather clouds as high pressure builds in. The air mass today is considerably cooler than yesterday but still nice since yesterday was quite a bit above normal, and today more seasonable. We’ve also lost the brief humidity spike and drier air has returned. High pressure departs Sunday, and the day will feature increasing clouds ahead of low pressure approaching from the southwest, but it will remain rain-free during the daylight hours. The aforementioned low will pass south of the region at night and some shower activity can get about as far north as I-90 during the evening before moving out. Monday’s weather looks mild and breezy. A cold front from the northwest will bring some clouds and the chance of a brief shower as it delivers a cool air mass from Canada heading into midweek. Tuesday’s weather will be breezy and cool. High pressure settles overhead giving some inland areas their first chance of frost this autumn for late Tuesday night / early Wednesday, with dry and pleasant weather during the day Wednesday.

I read this just as we’re about to start our “DD Walk”. We’ll be on the road from Woods Hill in the next hour and have allowed 7 hours to complete the round trip with 9 stops. 🙂
Thanks TK
This day in weather history goes back to 1979 and the F4 Windsor Locks, CT tornado.
