DAYS 1-5 (OCTOBER 4-8)
Overnight calm winds resulted in some patches of fog and low clouds which will dissipate this morning. Today we’ll see an increase in high to eventually mid level cloudiness from low pressure approaching from the southwest. It’s destined to pass south of our region tonight, but close enough to spread some showers into southern areas this evening, mainly south of I-90 before heading out to sea overnight. Monday, a cold front will sweep across the region from the west with perhaps a quick-passing shower, otherwise it’ll just produce some clouds and a gusty breeze. The day will get milder ahead of the front. Behind it, a quick shot of cool air arrives Monday night through early Wednesday, first with a gusty breeze. As high pressure builds overhead Tuesday night it will set up a chilly night with clear, calm conditions. Wednesday morning can see the first frost of the season for some inland lower elevation locations. Fair weather continues with a milder trend during midweek as high pressure slips offshore, although a moisture-starved cold front looks timed to pass through on Thursday not making much of an impact other than a wind shift and some passing clouds.
