  1. I lost count but believe the positive test for Trumps campaign manager makes 10 from the even he hosted last Saturday. His dr reports he is doing well and has had his first remdesiver treatment

Michigan SC voted down the governors power to extend emergency declaration. I worry about this. Joshua, you mentioned zero-covid two days ago. I asked what that means but it was late night and think you may not have seen it.

In my mind it may mean complete shutdown???

  2. I would be curious if Trump’s youngest son Baron has been tested? I heard this morning that Ivanka, Trump Jr. and other immediate family members have tested negative. I believe Baron is in his teens by now.

I heard this morning FLOTUS had a mild fever and headache but ok.

    1. The NFL should have had a bubble. I believe it was discussed briefly early on.

Perhaps a consideration for the postseason? Might not be a bad idea.

  3. Watching an Amazon Prime series entitled UTOPIA.

    Most interesting.

Makes one wonder, that’s for sure.

  4. Trump doing “very well” and has been working this morning per his doctor a few minutes ago. Still has a low grade fever and is experiencing congestion.

      1. As I stated above, the NFL should have had a bubble. Had the NBA and NHL not had one, we very well might have been still waiting for their perspective playoff series to begin.

        1. The NBA and NHL had a 2-month bubble for their playoffs, with less teams, and now MLB is doing the same for their playoffs over the span of 1 month. MLB and NHL are actually doing 2 bubbles. It’s not feasible to do a bubble for a 4-month regular season for 32 teams.

  5. Boston Public Schools can remain open (some students returned on Thursday) as long as the city’s COVID-19 test positivity rate remains below 4%. Currently it is at 3.5%.

If I am correct, the current MA rate is at 1.1%

  6. Near as I can tell but am losing count that is 22 cases we can attribute to the president of the United States.

  7. OMG. Trumps doctor said he is doing well 72 hours after his diagnosis. That is Wednesday. Let that sink in. He went to at least one if not two events knowing he had covid.

      1. I have seen that. Thanks Scott. I had a large bet on that being changed. We knew double talk would follow. I don’t believe for a second that a doctor taking care of the president of the United States has no clue when his treatments were…let alone not knowing how to properly spell the name of the treatment and sign a memo.

However, even if is he fudging it, it is still day three for diagnosis and day two for treatment. Day three outs diagnosis on Thursday not Friday. And trump attended at least one fund raiser in that time

But if we give him the benefit of the doubt, which I have tried so many times to do with mud ending up on my face, he attended the fund raiser without a mask when he knew he had been seriously exposed and should be quarantining.

“This morning while summarizing the president’s health, I incorrectly used the term ‘seventy two hours’ instead of ‘day three’ and ‘forty eight hours’ instead of ‘day two’ with regards to his diagnosis and the administration of the polyclonal antibody therapy. The president was first diagnosed with COVID-19 on Thursday, October 1st and received Regeron’s antibody cocktail on Friday, October 2nd,” Conley said, misspelling Regeneron. The memo was not signed.

        1. The whole white house crew can’t get anything straight.
I don’t believe a word any of those people utter.

I have a strong feeling trump is doing much more poorly
than they are letting us know. Time will tell.

  8. I would be curious as to how long the average hospital stay is for most Covid-19 patients.

The POTUS is expected to be in the hospital for “several” days. That could be ANY number for all we know.

  9. Regarding the President, his doctors sound like the ones in the Soviet Union who would tell us that everything is fine with Brezhnev, Andropov, and Chernenko.

The timeline of his infection (knowledge of) is an indictment of Trump and his WH team. In fact, it could lead to major lawsuits. His donors in NJ are angry. They met with him Thursday afternoon and evening, AFTER it was known that Hicks was sick and had tested positive, AND likely AFTER it was known that the President had symptoms consistent with Covid-19.

I actually think the President is doing okay today. But, he was not doing well Thursday and Friday. The reason he went to the hospital was likely a dropping oxygen saturation level. This is serious, and can recur in Covid-19 patients.

The NFL better watch out. Unlike baseball which has really been mostly complying with the rules and regulations, and has not recorded a single case in more than a month, I see little or no compliance in the NFL. There is NO reason for all those players and coaches to be standing next to each other – many maskless and helmetless (so no face shield) – and talking/hugging/yelling during the game. For those who will likely never enter the game (50% of those on the sidelines) use the empty stands the way baseball has and soccer in Europe (where it is MANDATORY! subs and others may not stand or sit near the sideline). Furthermore, the congratulatory hugs after games with no helmet on (so no face shield) must stop. Obviously one can’t physically distance while playing. But certainly one can physically distance when not playing. Here’s where the American message is a bit off. It’s masks AND physical distancing, not one OR the other.

To me, the most egregious thing about last Saturday’s event at the WH was the total lack of physical distancing. None whatsoever. Hugging, some yelling, cheering. Ridiculous. I listened to the nomination in my car last week. The announcer said that many guests were seated right next to each other. I told my son after I heard the yelling and cheering “do they know that: a. it’s inappropriate to be cheering ACB as if at a football game, given that RBG had just died; b. we’re in a pandemic, such behavior is way out of bounds.

    1. Well said but heartbreaking, Joshua. What does it have to take for people to say enough is enough and begin to care about someone other than themselves? I trulydon’t recognize this country Any more.

  10. Governor Christie has checked into a hospital in NJ. He says it’s “precautionary.” Well, hospitalization is really never precautionary. It means someone is seriously concerned, or worsening symptoms. He says he has “mild” symptoms.

I fear for Christie MUCH more than Trump. I told a friend this yesterday before it was confirmed he had Covid-19. Christie is unfortunately in a very high risk category: Asthma, morbid obesity, age (even though he’s not >80 he’s still not young – tens of thousands of people have died who are in the 60 – 80 age category. I don’t know about other factors, such as hypertension and diabetes.

  11. Philip to your bubble question. I don’t have the knowledge but my son in law does and he is also a math major. He put a plan together. There is a way to do exactly what you Suggested. Don’t ever stop asking. It was a great question and normally questions have answers other than it simply can’t be done.

    1. Thanks Vicki! No, I’ll certainly never stop asking questions here or on WHW. If I don’t get a response, I either ask again later, or look it up myself! 🙂

      1. Good. It really didn’t take a ton of logic to come up with a plan. Just knowledge and an open mind.

  12. Washington (DC = District of COVID)

I would say that just about describes our nation’s capital right now. A total embarrassment to the entire world. 🙁
