  1. This was part of Heather Cox Richardson’s post today. I’m hearing some SC members are resigning. This is just twisted

Today in Pennsylvania, Steve Lynch, a candidate for Northampton County executive, said: “Forget going into these school boards with freaking data. You go into these school boards to remove them. I’m going in with 20 strong men and I’m gonna give them an option—they can leave or they can be removed.”
At a protest in Santa Monica yesterday before a vote on a mask mandate, a man held a sign with the names and home addresses of each Los Angeles City Council member and said protesters would go to the homes of anyone who voted for the mandate and, if it passed, “Civil War is coming! Get your guns!”

    1. This is a very clever and evil virus as Vicki has stated, more or less. If we had near 100% vaccination rates, we would be pretty much done with the disease. Instead, we may very well be a witness to the painfully slow extinction of mankind itself. “Worrisome” may just be the tip of the iceberg.

      1. Id recall, I mentioned it possibly being an ELE (Extinction Level Event). No one will ever admit to that or even suggest it as a possibility. But, hey if the shoe fits…..

        1. I don’t recall myself, but thanks for reminding us. That sounds like a fairly accurate description all right.

      2. The virus has no measure of cleverness or evil. It’s just a “living entity” doing what it’s programmed to do to survive.

We give it far too much credit. Measure of cleverness or evil should be about our response to it.

  2. Yesterday’s record-breaking number of cases in the U.S. – >260,000 – was partly due to weekend data dumps. I do expect the numbers will come down considerably by the end of the week. This said, cases, hospitalizations, and deaths are still very elevated. I’m concerned that all this is becoming normalized in the U.S.

More than 70% of EU adults are fully vaccinated. This compares to 52% in the U.S. Shameful.

Of course, some of the poor vaccination numbers translate into professional sports issues in the U.S. (UNLIKE other countries; again, we’re exceptional, in this regard). Sports here are being bogged down by Covid-19 infections and lack of rule following. Of course, some of the players impacted by coronavirus or coronavirus protocols were fully vaccinated, but many are not (including Cam Newton). The Red Sox outbreak is inexcusable: 9 players are now on the Covid list; 7 confirmed Covid-19 cases.
