Monday October 4 2021 Forecast (7:15AM)

DAYS 1-5 (OCTOBER 4-8)

A rainy Monday starts are week off as low pressure rides along a frontal boundary just south of New England. High pressure in eastern Canada begins a southward push Tuesday with a slow drying process taking place, then the high builds further south and extends over our region with fair and milder weather for midweek, and continued fair but possibly cooler weather by Friday as a cold front may push through from the north at that time.

TODAY: Overcast with areas of fog. Steadiest rain during the morning. Occasional rain during the afternoon. Highs 56-63. Wind E up to 10 MPH.

TONIGHT: Overcast with areas of fog. Periods of rain. Lows 48-55. Wind E up to 10 MPH.

TUESDAY: Cloudy. Areas of fog in the morning. Rain diminishing north to south. Highs 57-64. Wind NE 5-15 MPH.

TUESDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy. Patchy fog. Lows 50-57. Wind N up to 10 MPH.

WEDNESDAY: Partly sunny. Highs 63-70. Wind N up to 10 MPH.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy. Patchy fog interior lower elevations. Lows 47-54. Wind N up to 10 MPH.

THURSDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 65-72. Wind variable up to 10 MPH.

THURSDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear. Patchy fog interior lower elevations. Lows 47-54. Wind variable under 10 MPH.

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 61-68. Wind N to NE 5-15 MPH.

DAYS 6-10 (OCTOBER 9-12)

High pressure is expected to shift far enough to the east during the October 9-11 holiday weekend so that some moisture in the form of cloudiness gets into the region from the south and may end up with some wet weather around the middle of the weekend. A front from the west pushes through around the end of the holiday weekend and high pressure from the west builds in with mostly fair weather heading toward the middle of next week.

DAYS 11-15 (OCTOBER 14-18)

The current indications are for high pressure ridging to be the dominant feature with dry weather and temperatures averaging above normal for mid October.

  1. Good morning and thank you TK.

Brady was decent, but not great. Mac was great.
I think the Pats have something in that kid. 🙂

    1. I agree. Mac was excellent. I was amazed it took this game for the announcers to recognize his talent. I thought it was clear in preseason. It will be fun to watch him develop.

  2. Thanks TK. What a game! Rained most of the first half but we were somewhat dry for most of the second half. They did fireworks at halftime with music on the 95 side of the stadium, even with the rain. Mac had an awesome game and those trick plays were awesome too!

      1. It was pretty cool. Mac is settling in and we have to remember he is rookie. He played his heart out last night

    1. Think it’s the best game I’ve ever seen . I knew the kid was the real deal from the beginning but he showed everyone last night on prime time . Mack is going to have a very successful NFL career. The pats must make it a priority to protect him !!! I went on for weeks telling everyone this was going to be a close game with pats on top . It was the last few weeks I gave that up & thought blowout . Pats have a lot of work laid out but they 100% have found there QB now figure out the best

    1. I like to do what I call a sandwich affect when it comes to seeding . After I complete the raking of the area where the seed is gong I put down first light coat of quality dirt then I put down first coat of seed sowing it into the soil & I repeat this process usually twice then I’ll add a top coat W starter fertilizer. I mostly do this because of the Animals. I may use a tad bit more seed but it’s come out successful each time

      1. Thank you very much. My SIL did the first part. Twice. Our neighborhood is downhill and when we have as many inches as we keep getting all at once, it is like a river. The second would have made a ton of sense. I’ll copy and send this to him.

        1. So it’s basically a lower level of seed , a middle layer & a top layer & lightly working the first two layers in with the rake ( lightly) heavier too coat . I like black beauty sun / shade by Jonathan Greene

  3. Thanks, TK…

I am teaching weather expressions en español this morning and we have learned “llover a cántaros” which translates to “to rain pitchers.” It certainly is. We had 1.01″ when I left the house at 6:25. I am guessing we’re more than 2″ now.

Santa and I will be taking turns mowing the lawn Christmas morning! It just keeps growing!!!!! 🙂

  4. SSK…

I have been so busy with school and away from WHW for awhile…any news on the promotion?

Best of luck if it’s still in the works!!

    1. Not yet captain I’m still waiting for my interview & the waiting is really doing a number on me . There are 3 positions available 2 3-11 & 1 11-7 . I’m going for the 11-7 because I think that has more flexibility then the 3-11 . I’m hoping I would be back on days at some point . I’m torn on leaving my current shop but this new position is a huge raise . I’ll let you know & I appreciate you asking .

  5. Just about 1.2 in Natick. Any ideas on how much is still to come and if the bulk of it is another late night event? Thanks.

    1. If I were to nowcast the radar, I might guess the next batch is earlier …… say late afternoon/early evening into the first half of the night.

Not exactly sure of amounts for next batch.

  6. Rainiest part of your Monday PM will be the next few hours.
After that, the drying trend starts, slowly at first as the main rain moves out and lingering drizzle and patchy light rain hangs around into the morning Tuesday before skedaddling southward.

Wednesday-Friday look pretty super around here for October. Sunshine which may be limited for part of Wednesday and more abundant Thursday & Friday. Warming trend through Thursday, but a cool-down may come as early as Friday with renewed push of high pressure from eastern Canada.

Weekend still has a bit of uncertainty. I’m fairly confident Saturday will be dry but may turn cloudier. Sunday may end up wet at times, anything ranging from a few showers to a steadier rainfall.

What happens after that? We’ll talk more about that later. 🙂

    1. Thanks, TK.

Yet another day with more than 1 inch of rain. We’ve had plenty of these in recent months.

  7. Curious question. Is Wunder part of whatever network group FB uses? I have Not been able to access Wunder all afternoon

    1. Ha. A couple of decades ago Macs brothers family from CA visited us and were hoping we might have a thunderstorm as the kids had never experienced one
