    1. Odd. I suspect it depends on how positives are reported. We know neither cases or hospitalization numbers are close to accurate. As with our state school systems, some areas may be reporting as close to accurate as possible and some just don’t want to take the time.

  1. The TSA/Public transportation mask mandate, set to expire on April 18 will extend until May 3.

Surprisingly, 60% of passengers are in favor of the extending mask mandates. The airline industry execs are the ones who would like to see those mandates lifted. Go figure.

    1. Saw this, too, and was puzzled. I really don’t think mask mandates are preventing people from flying. Have the executives seen the clogged airports recently? Having been on several transatlantic flights recently I can say that wearing a KN95 mask isn’t much of a nuisance. I do, realize, however that this is subjective.

      1. Well, they also mentioned the recent uptick in violence from passengers that refuse to wear masks when requested. I can understand that flight attendants have had enough.

        1. Yes, it’s been difficult for flight attendants. But, to me it’s appalling that folks behave that way towards flight attendants.

Not liking the big jump in official cases in Massachusetts today. Nearly 3,000 new cases (68% more than last week Thursday); test positivity is at 3.7% (steady daily increase); hospitalizations now at 307 (37% increase in the past 10 days). Let’s hope we’re peaking soon with BA.2. I don’t want to see similar increases next week. Would like to see the increases diminish.
