DAYS 1-5 (OCTOBER 31 – NOVEMBER 4)
The busy, gusty wind of last night has diminished and Halloween 2026 will be a fair, cool, and tranquil day. High pressure builds over the region today and tonight making this the case, and will result in a quick cool-down this evening from the 50s to the 40s but with very little wind for outdoor activities. Remember also that this night is longer than usual by 1 hour, as we flip the clocks back at 2:00 a.m. Sunday in the transition from Daylight Saving Time to Standard Time. Sunday and Monday will feature unlimited sun, but a different kind of limit will be noticed when the sun sets prior to 5:00 p.m. – ’tis the season! A weak disturbance passes by to our north Tuesday with some patchy clouds, otherwise as we head toward midweek high pressure slips offshore and we start to get into a milder southern air flow. By Wednesday, we may see some additional cloudiness this timing coming in with increased moisture from the south.
TODAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 55-62. Wind NW 5-15 MPH, diminishing.
TONIGHT: Mostly clear. Lows 26-33 except 34-41 coastal & urban areas. Wind calm.
SUNDAY: Sunny. Highs 56-63. Wind variable up to 10 MPH.
SUNDAY NIGHT: Clear. Lows 38-45. Wind S under 10 MPH.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 62-69. Wind SW 5-15 MPH.
MONDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy. Lows 43-50. Wind SW to variable under 10 MPH.
TUESDAY: Partly cloudy. Highs 60-67. Wind variable to S up to 10 MPH.
TUESDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy. Patchy fog. Lows 43-50. Wind S up to 10 MPH.
WEDNESDAY: Partly sunny. Highs 62-69. Wind S 5-15 MPH.
DAYS 6-10 (NOVEMBER 5-9)
A trough from the west and moisture from the south combine for increased shower chances November 5 and a more widespread rainfall on November 6. This system shifts off to the east thereafter, though upper level low pressure lingering can keep some clouds around along with a gusty wind and cooler weather heading into the first full weekend of November before high pressure settles in at the end of the period.
DAYS 11-15 (NOVEMBER 10-14)
Watching for mid period unsettled weather with a passing trough, flanked by fair weather. Temperatures near to above normal.
Thanks TK
A treat and not a trick for Halloween 2026!
Thanks!
Wordle 3. Just took a wild stab on 3 and hit it.
HOLY CRAP BATMAN!!!! How on earth were you able to do that!!! MOST IMPRESSIVE!!! Consider me SHOCKED!!!
Well done!!!!
Superb Tjammer !
That is amazing!!
Wow. That is very impressive for this word.
Good morning and thank you TK.
46 up from 43
Ocean: 55 Average for the date: 52.9
Wordle: 6
I was completely lost and didn’t have a clue. Nothing with first guess, then 1 letter out of position, then 2 out of position and then finally 1 out of position and 1 in position. Still no clue.
SO on guess 6 I pretty much knew what the 1st 2 letters were and that was it. I tried all sorts of things and was about to throw any old word in to end my misery when a word came to me. I thought could this possibly be the word??? I had no other words that matched. Couldn’t come up with anything so I went with it and IT WAS THE WORD!!! A big fat 6!!!
Today’s word is a real BALL BUSTER!!! Good luck.
I’d be SHOCKED if anyone gets it in less than 4.
4 would be an OUTSTANDING score today.
Welcome aboard !
Thanks TK !
Wordle: 5
I had 2 letters in the wrong position with guess 1 and uncovered nothing new with guesses 2 and 3 AND couldn’t get those 2 letters in the correct spot. Then guess 4 yielded a 3 letter in the correct spot, which led to lucky guess 5.
Nice
I got Wordle in 6, or maybe Wordle got me. 🙂
Welcome to the 6 Car! Yes, Wordle got us today, but we’ll get Wordle tomorrow!!!
Great to get this word, SClarke, JPD and Tom!!
Welcome aboard !
Thank you, TK.
43. Temp went up from our low of 34 quickly. And the DP is 32…. back to behaving
Tonight’s temp is more in line with Halloween’s I remember.
Tough Wordle. I had no clue after first two guesses so used third guess just to get at least one more letter. It worked.
Wordle 4
Awesome, Vicki !
I should have added. My first guess was a word finder choice. I honestly didn’t think that Wordle would accept it because I don’t think it’s a word. It’s actually a word I can’t stand. When I hear it, it’s like rubbing nails across a chalkboard to me.
You didn’t have to use it. 🙂
I absolutely did. I wanted to see if it would be accepted 😀
That is a great score for today’s word! Well done!
Great job on that word!
The Philippines Mayon volcano erupted yesterday for about 6 hours, moderately, with an ash plume about 10,000 feet into the sky. This type of eruption is not large enough to have notable global impact, like a Pinatubo or a Hunga Tonga.
While I prefer yesterday’s temps, acknowledging it’s the last day of October and being out and about, it is beautiful outside.
Indeed! 49/31 Love it!!
Snow guns are firing away up at Killington again.
Not sure why, it will all just melt this upcoming week.
A little tune for the day.

Good tune !
Thank you TK!
Wordle: 4
Excellent!!!
Great, Sue !
Super 4, Sue!!
I read the HOLY CRAP BATMAN earlier JpDave. I am hoping at least one time this coming winter I am reading HOLY CRAP BATMAN
Would be nice! We shall see.
If you believe all the doom and gloom being written, i’d say no, BUT ahh, there are other factors. Here’s hoping anyway.
Thanks, TK!
Happy Halloween!
Notre Dame and Navy are playing their traditional football game right now up at “The Stadium” in Foxboro. The rivalry is steeped in honor that goes back to WWII:
• The WWII Rescue: During World War II, enrollment at the all-male University of Notre Dame plummeted, putting the school in severe financial distress.
• US Navy Intervention: The U.S. Navy set up a V-12/V-7 midshipman training program on Notre Dame’s campus and paid the university for the use of its facilities, effectively keeping the institution afloat.
• Annual Repayment: In eternal gratitude, Notre Dame extended an open, permanent invitation to play Navy in football every single year, viewing the matchup as a “debt of honor”.

Thanks Captain, did not know the background to this game, neat.
Checking the score, Navy is surprisingly hanging in there with Notre Dame. It’s 14-13, ND, at half time.
Notre Dame got serious in the 2nd half.
Final 35-13
Bruins have hit a lull, lost to an avg Blues team the other night and struggling against a not strong BlackHawks team.
Ah-GAIN-st as they pronounce it up in Canada.
Topped out at 55F today. Very nice day.
Indeed !
Bruins tied the game with 10 seconds left 🙂
AJ Brown OUT for tomorrow’s game in Miami.
As well as the foreseeable future. 🙁
There’s a big surprise.
What a BUST that trade was!!!
I mean did he get injured again? Continuation of the same injury? Did he come back too soon? Sorry, but something doesn’t smell right, in fact it STINKS!!!
Is he PAST his prime and perhaps we should NOT have acquired him? Many questions here. Color me BITTERLY Disappointed.
My thought is that he came back too soon. Who knows? They’ll never say for sure. I hope he’s not done for the season or anything like that. I just heard on WEEI that he could miss “multiple” games thereafter.
Not surprised. What is this, week 8 and he has been unavailable or useless for all but 1 quarter. Gimme a break.
B’s 5-4 final.
Rescued 2 points !
Yay
55/29 and that was the high.
Wow for a beautiful night, we had the fewest treaters since we moved here. We usually have 50-75ish kids. I am at uxbridge daughters but can watch in the ring camera. We may have had a dozen
Granddaughter here said there were fewer kids than they’d ever seen in the 20ish years they’ve been here
Times have changed considerably. Trick-or-treat may very well go out of style completely in the not too distant future. There are a lot of dangers for kids that didn’t exist in our day. Parents have a right to be concerned.
Maybe in some areas. I doubt that either of my neighborhood or my daughters would have a concern. I know the kids are getting older and I get that. But we typically had people who would drive their kids here to run through the neighborhood.
Either way, it would be heartbreaking to see that we’ve gotten to the point where kids can’t go trick-or-treating and feel safe
I don’t know about here in Quincy, but back in Boston, trick-or-treating is NOT safe anymore, hasn’t for a good 20 years. Too much violence in the neighborhoods over the years. Sad I know.
I would say that Halloween is becoming more of a holiday for adults roaming around in costumes.
We are far from the city. Although I did notice that the police cars went through even my daughter’s small neighborhood twice tonight and my small neighborhood once.
