I was too optimistic yet again. Wetter than I expected, cooler than I expected for today. Warm front will take its time pushing north so expect it to stay cool and showery for the bulk of the region today. Warm front finally pushes to the north tonight and introduces mild and muggy air for Monday, but a shower threat during the day and heavier showers/rain at night with a cold front and some tropical moisture that was once associated with Tropical Storm Karen in the Gulf of Mexico. Still expecting the bulk of this rain to come through Monday night and though it may linger into Tuesday morning in the form of showers, it should clear out of here and Tuesday should end much brighter than it starts. Mid to late week still looks decent at this time. Will revisit this in a few hours on an early-issued Week Ahead post.

      RE: Addition of Austin Collie

      Austin Collie is a GOOD player. His addition “should” be a big help

    Will see what happens later this week with the storm threat where the latest run of the EURO wants bring rainfall here. The NAO looks to be dipping a bit into the negative territory during that time as well as the storm threat that Old Salty posted the links to.

  16. The receivers he has just not consistent, I thought thomkins was maybe was getting better but I’m just not sold on him. Gronk will be a huge uplift to the offense when he comes back. Injuries having a huge impact. It’s hard to say but I think Denver is taking it all the way.

      When they come here next month, I hope Welker catches 20 passes for 250 yards!

Geez I actually root against him now, no matter if they should’ve kept him or not, I’d never root against my own team no matter the situation, I hope he gets hurt and is out for the next 6 weeks 🙂 if anybody knows football, long way to go, and the Patriots will be better in 2nd half of season, geez 1 bad game and everyone wants the home team to lose, not sure how many patriots fans r really on here?         3. Charlie I don’t think pointing out that the O stunk today constitutes hating the patriots. No one said it would not get better and no one is giving up on the pats after one game. Did Bb let his ego get in the way with welker…..its my opinion he did. The fact that the O didnt do its job today Is simply a statement of fact Do you want to tell me it is incorrect ?

          I’m not giving up. I think it is a damn shame the Pat’s let Welker go. yes, I do want Welker to do well. I want him to rub BB’s nose in it big time. Serves BB right that Amendola went down week 1. They should have kept Welker. Makes NO SENSE in my mind. NONE!

BB is hear for a while 🙂 I wouldn’t want anybody else IMO, did u see the coaching from him today, to bad the offensive coaching stunk, BB will have a 50ft statue of him when he retires, never root against the Patriots, never, moral of the story, rumor has it BB is here through 2018, of course if he pulls a Tom Landry or a Don Shula and tanks in a couple years to a 4-12 seasons for a couple years then he will be let go, but Patriots as a team is built for the long haul and not like Denver when they will not be competitive in a few years while the Patriots continue to be good, Brady or not, 🙂

          2. I agree with everything you said. He like Brady will take less money to help the team. This was not about money it was because he was fedup with bill period, he pretty much said that himself. I guess bill is a real hard guy too get along with. But I think he is a great coach.

    1. I think they couldn’t get open. They will figure it out. And Charlie is right about one thing – we can’t win them all and one game does not a season make :). Brady is working with nothing. Compared to manning who has pro bowl receivers. To me it say more for Brady when he wins with rookies. Or even holds the score to what it was today.

  18. Brady is working with nothing agree. And Kraft has more money than he can count. Spend some of it on the talent that you lost. Charlie I love the pats and the nfl in whole. But it does not take a genious to figure out that Denver is hot, hungry and ready for anybody who stands in there way. Pats can’t keep letting great leaders walk and not match that loss. Example, how many times has branch been let go.

              2. I see 4 or 5 potential losses the rest of the way for the Pats. They’ll win the division but they won’t go far in the playoffs. The D has improved a lot this year but the loss of Wilfork will hurt (not as much as some think as the league is a passing league now). If Kelley is also out (I didn’t hear his status after the game) then they might be in a little more trouble. Even with Gronk back the offense is going to have its troubles getting untracked.

                1. Also getting back to BB and his ego…yeah it’s pretty big and it has cost us in terms of some player personnel decisions (where are you Scott Pioli?) and the overall “In Bill We Trust” hubris is starting to wear thin.

  21. The Pats are not the best with personnel. Giving up Welker and Woodhead simultaneously was a bonehead play. There have been other idiotic moves in the past. Passing on Clay Matthews is another example.

    It is no secret that the Pats scoured the planet during the off-season to find a deep threat and have been flirting off and on with the ever problematic Terrel Owens. The Pats can make it to the playoffs, but if they want to win playoff games, things will either have to get better as is or change for the better.

    Meanwhile we have the Sox tomorrow, and the B’s … who incredibly have 5 days off in a row.

You may think you know everything (especially about football) but some of us have our own opinions and we should be treated with respect which I don’t think you are doing right now. Sports (especially football) can certainly stir the passion in all of us but it should also allow for a certain sense of camaraderie (especially on this board) but your slamming everyone’s thoughts on this are only creating derision.
