Sunday AM Update

10:42AM

I was too optimistic yet again. Wetter than I expected, cooler than I expected for today. Warm front will take its time pushing north so expect it to stay cool and showery for the bulk of the region today. Warm front finally pushes to the north tonight and introduces mild and muggy air for Monday, but a shower threat during the day and heavier showers/rain at night with a cold front and some tropical moisture that was once associated with Tropical Storm Karen in the Gulf of Mexico. Still expecting the bulk of this rain to come through Monday night and though it may linger into Tuesday morning in the form of showers, it should clear out of here and Tuesday should end much brighter than it starts. Mid to late week still looks decent at this time. Will revisit this in a few hours on an early-issued Week Ahead post.

Southeastern New England Forecast…

TODAY:Β  Cloudy. Occasional showers. Highs upper 50s-lower 60s. Wind E 5-15 MPH.

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy. A few showers. Patchy fog. Temperatures steady. Wind SE to S 5-15 MPH.

MONDAY: Mostly cloudy. Chance of showers. Heavier and more numerous showers late, especially at night. Highs in the 70s. Muggy. Wind S 10-20 MPH with higher gusts.

TUESDAY: AM showers / PM clearing. Low 60. High 68.

WEDNESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY: Fair weather. Lows in the 40s. Highs in the 60s.

    1. No Gronk once again!

There is a reasonable chance Amendola plays since he DID make the trip. πŸ˜€

      RE: Addition of Austin Collie

Austin Collie is a GOOD player. His addition “should” be a big help

      Here are his stats:

Year Age Tm Pos G Rec Yds
      2011 26 IND wr 16 54 514
      2010 25 IND wr 9 58 649
      2009 24 IND wr 16 60 676

He was injured last year and only played in 1 game.

His main problem is that he has a history of concussions.

I sure do think he CAN and WILL HELP!!! πŸ˜€

  1. Thanks TK.
I will go with A for the trivia question.
Will see what happens later this week with the storm threat where the latest run of the EURO wants bring rainfall here. The NAO looks to be dipping a bit into the negative territory during that time as well as the storm threat that Old Salty posted the links to.

    1. I fear my grass seed will rot. A little too much constant rain. Hopefully it doesnt rain too hard tomorrow night

      1. Mac just said the same. I thought it was just drizzling but its more substantial and has lasted most of the day. And there is more to come. Darn. Did you use hay?

  2. BB totally out coached the bengals esp towards the end of 1st half ,, rainy here,, 65.7 degrees πŸ™‚

  3. 12Z Canadian reveals that the 0Z run was on steroids! πŸ˜€

What a boring football game. No Scoring! Zzzzzzzz

Brady 11 of 20 for 90 yards. What’s up with that?

C’mon guys let’s get it together. Hopefully BB will knock some sense into these
    guys during the 1/2.

We certainly can win this one.

  4. The NAM finally figured out the timing of the cold front for Monday night / early Tuesday! Took long enough!

  5. Hazardous Weather Outlook just issued for tomorrow for a good part of the region

    1. I don’t think the PAts loose with their full compliment of players.
Rain sure came at the wrong time for the Pats.

Oh well. It’s on the the Saints.

      1. But they need to have players who can win if the full complement is not there. Injuries are to be expected. Hindsight.

          1. btw, I knew I screwed up complement. It happens when typing fast and trying to get it done quickly. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ Oh well, you knew what I meant!

            1. As usual I never noticed .. And you were being kind. I’m thinking my SIL has jumped on Hadis BB bandwagon. πŸ™‚

        …CAROLINAS…

    1. Highly likely to be another loss, especially if the O line performs like it did today
and the receivers crap the bed again!!

  6. The receivers he has just not consistent, I thought thomkins was maybe was getting better but I’m just not sold on him. Gronk will be a huge uplift to the offense when he comes back. Injuries having a huge impact. It’s hard to say but I think Denver is taking it all the way.

    1. Agree. Denvers Wins out and goes 16-0. Probably wins super bowl as well.

When they come here next month, I hope Welker catches 20 passes for 250 yards!

      1. Geez I actually root against him now, no matter if they should’ve kept him or not, I’d never root against my own team no matter the situation, I hope he gets hurt and is out for the next 6 weeks πŸ™‚ if anybody knows football, long way to go, and the Patriots will be better in 2nd half of season, geez 1 bad game and everyone wants the home team to lose, not sure how many patriots fans r really on here? Plus I hate picker nose manning, I could never root for them, I thought everyone had a good game except the offensive line and Brady which is also related to putting so much pressure on Brady with limited weapons, PATSFAN4LIFE πŸ™‚ GO PATRIOTS!!

        1. Charlie I don’t think pointing out that the O stunk today constitutes hating the patriots. No one said it would not get better and no one is giving up on the pats after one game. Did Bb let his ego get in the way with welker…..its my opinion he did. The fact that the O didnt do its job today Is simply a statement of fact Do you want to tell me it is incorrect ?

          1. Vicki, saying that you hope a team member scores 20 Rec for 225yds is rooting against your home team just bc things r working out

        2. Charlie,

I’m not giving up. I think it is a damn shame the Pat’s let Welker go. yes, I do want Welker to do well. I want him to rub BB’s nose in it big time. Serves BB right that Amendola went down week 1. They should have kept Welker. Makes NO SENSE in my mind. NONE!

          1. It bothers me for Brady’s sake and it sure does seem like an ego thing for BB…..Hadi you hearing this …… πŸ˜†

            1. BB is hear for a while πŸ™‚ I wouldn’t want anybody else IMO, did u see the coaching from him today, to bad the offensive coaching stunk, BB will have a 50ft statue of him when he retires, never root against the Patriots, never, moral of the story, rumor has it BB is here through 2018, of course if he pulls a Tom Landry or a Don Shula and tanks in a couple years to a 4-12 seasons for a couple years then he will be let go, but Patriots as a team is built for the long haul and not like Denver when they will not be competitive in a few years while the Patriots continue to be good, Brady or not, πŸ™‚

          2. I agree with everything you said. He like Brady will take less money to help the team. This was not about money it was because he was fedup with bill period, he pretty much said that himself. I guess bill is a real hard guy too get along with. But I think he is a great coach.

  7. I thought the Pats offensive play calling was poor today too

    #patsstink #thisseasonisdoomed

    LOL πŸ™‚

    1. I think they couldn’t get open. They will figure it out. And Charlie is right about one thing – we can’t win them all and one game does not a season make :). Brady is working with nothing. Compared to manning who has pro bowl receivers. To me it say more for Brady when he wins with rookies. Or even holds the score to what it was today.

  8. Brady is working with nothing agree. And Kraft has more money than he can count. Spend some of it on the talent that you lost. Charlie I love the pats and the nfl in whole. But it does not take a genious to figure out that Denver is hot, hungry and ready for anybody who stands in there way. Pats can’t keep letting great leaders walk and not match that loss. Example, how many times has branch been let go.

      1. Charlie your not the only one who knows a thing or two about football here. Im a huge football guy and I know my stuff.

  9. If Kraft wants to spend money prove it and pickup Seymour who said he would come back and play for a conder.

      1. He wants to play but said he wants the pay. He turned a team down this week because the numbers were not there, I forget who the team was.

        1. Seymour never said he would come here, I heard the a entire interview with Idiot Patriot hater Ron Borges, plus I don’t want him πŸ™‚

          1. I never said he did. I said he wanted to go to a contender and wanted to get paid. So by him throwing this out there, why not throw him an offer. He will go where the money is because money talks just like the ac/dc song says.

            1. The Patriots r 4-1 John, not a contender? C’mon John seriously? That has nothing to do with it, the Patriots don’t want him, and Seymour wouldn’t come here anyways

                1. John…you should know by now that Charlie only sees/hears what he wants to hear and that’s all…Plus he’s an expert on everything.

                2. Denver reminds me of the Pats in 07….and just like them their D is a little suspect πŸ™‚ but I agree I would be suprised if they didn’t win the SB.

Yeah I think we are going to have a soggy day coming up.

              1. I see 4 or 5 potential losses the rest of the way for the Pats. They’ll win the division but they won’t go far in the playoffs. The D has improved a lot this year but the loss of Wilfork will hurt (not as much as some think as the league is a passing league now). If Kelley is also out (I didn’t hear his status after the game) then they might be in a little more trouble. Even with Gronk back the offense is going to have its troubles getting untracked.

                1. Also getting back to BB and his ego…yeah it’s pretty big and it has cost us in terms of some player personnel decisions (where are you Scott Pioli?) and the overall “In Bill We Trust” hubris is starting to wear thin.

                2. See what happens Keith. But no matter what I believe Denver is the contender this year. Hope all is well. Could be stormy down our way tomorrow night.

  10. Well a tough loss for my team against Denver so I am going to talk about weather.
Watching a front that comes through that will bring rainfall and the possbility of a locally strong or severe storm across the interior of SNE.
    Threat Level Index:
    Flooding – Low
Wind – Low this could be raised to Elevated
    Hail – Very Low
    Tornado – Low

    1. Thanks JJ. Sorry you didnt have a good football day either

Do you know the timing of the front. I like the wind as you know πŸ™‚

  11. The Pats are not the best with personnel. Giving up Welker and Woodhead simultaneously was a bonehead play. There have been other idiotic moves in the past. Passing on Clay Matthews is another example.

It is no secret that the Pats scoured the planet during the off-season to find a deep threat and have been flirting off and on with the ever problematic Terrel Owens. The Pats can make it to the playoffs, but if they want to win playoff games, things will either have to get better as is or change for the better.

Meanwhile we have the Sox tomorrow, and the B’s … who incredibly have 5 days off in a row.

  12. Answer to Today’s AccuWeather Trivia Quiz.

Which one is true about umbrellas?
    A. Created for sun protection
    B. October is National Umbrella month
    C. Invented by the Romans
    D. Date back 200 years

    The correct answer is A.

  13. Hi Vicki…. The front looks to come through late afternoon early evening. As I said earlier would not be surprised to see a locally strong or even severe storm across the interior.

  14. Love Ron Borges, he may be a pats hater but hes not afraid to tell it like it is…unlike A lot of other writers drinking the coolade

    1. Don’t ever listen to that guy, seriously, that guy makes shit up and also wishes that the Patriots lose every week, the guys a boob and don’t know a lick about football lol, to each there own though, I can’t believe you am πŸ™‚ it’s like shaunasey trying to talk football, it sounds stupid lol πŸ™‚

      1. You know Charlie….you are coming close doing what you claimed I did to you a few weeks back which is calling people names. Now I know that’s not what you did in the above post to Ace but your getting close. You may think you know everything (especially about football) but some of us have our own opinions and we should be treated with respect which I don’t think you are doing right now. Sports (especially football) can certainly stir the passion in all of us but it should also allow for a certain sense of camaraderie (especially on this board) but your slamming everyone’s thoughts on this are only creating derision. You need to take a step back and realize that you are not the only one with valid thoughts on this.

    2. Next week if they beat the saints all the same people will be saying they look good again or even some saying there gonna be back in Super Bowl, and borgy will be telling ya how bad BB coached, if we lose again and go to 4-2 and be out of the playoffs, we all laugh at that borges guy bc in how he tells it like it is, he taylors it towards it patriot hater point which is usually not true or doesnt become true, he spits out just opinions, anyways drizzly down here and cool

  15. Cool, damp night here in Hingham. Can’t believe how much snow parts of the Upper Midwest got the other day.

  16. Going to upgrade the wind threat from low to elevated on the threat level index. Everything else remains the same
    Flooding – Low
    Wind – Elevated
    Hail – Very Low
    Tornado – Low

  17. Except for it being dark, it feels like a mid summer’s morning out there, at least south of Boston.
