Saturday Update / Marine Weekend

7:55AM

DAYS 1-5…
This weekend will be a good example of how the ocean can modify the conditions here in southeastern New England, as a persistent northeasterly flow between high pressure to the north and low pressure to the south and east of the region will keep the air on the cooler side of average. Despite it being a little cooler than one might expect for early August, the weather will be nice, with just some clouds at times. This may include a couple bouts of low clouds from the ocean, especially Sunday. During the Monday-Wednesday period, a low pressure system will move through from west to east in sluggish fashion, first bringing a warm front toward the region Monday with increasing clouds and eventually a shower risk late, then a cold front that will take its time slogging eastward on Tuesday with lots of clouds as well as a good chance of showers and thunderstorms. Finally by Wednesday, it pushes off to the east and drier air arrives, but it may be unstable enough for a shower or thunderstorm to pop up in a few locations.
TODAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 70-75 coast, 76-81 interior. Wind NE 5-15 MPH.
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy. Lows 55-62. Wind light NE.
SUNDAY: Partly sunny. Highs 68-73 coast, 74-79 interior. Wind NE 5-15 mph.
MONDAY: Increasing clouds. Lows 55-62. Highs in the 70s.
TUESDAY: Mostly cloudy. Showers/thunderstorms likely. Lows in the 60s. Highs in the 70s.
WEDNESDAY: Partly cloudy. Isolated showers/thunderstorms possible. Lows in the 60s. Highs 75-85.

DAYS 6-10 (AUGUST 13-17)…
Fair August 13. Weak system brings shower risk later August 14 to early August 15. Another system arrives at the end of the period with a risk of showery weather. Temperatures below to near normal.

DAYS 11-15 (AUGUST 18-22)…
Will be watching for less troughing reaching the Northeast and staying back in the Great Lakes as a ridge of high pressure tries to expand westward from the Atlantic toward East Coast. Episodes of showers/thunderstorms to start, then becoming less numerous. Temperatures near to above normal.

  1. I came in from work late last night and it felt a little cool and I said to myself is this August. This is a treat to string this many days in a row in August with the humidity in check.

    1. Doesn’t usually happen in basically mid summer or early August, it was 55.1 degrees, again like early fall πŸ™‚

      1. Well, not that unusual actually. Think of it like this: Boston (example) had a temperature above the average for the first 6 days of August. Yesterday was below normal, as will today and tomorrow be. It’s also likely that Monday and Tuesday will also land at least slightly below the seasonal normal for the respective dates. After that, we’re nearly a dozen days into the month with just about equal amounts of above normal versus below normal temperature days. Pretty “typical”. πŸ™‚

    1. Yes, I saw that. Crapoli for cash or player to be named later. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Good riddance. I actually thought that he would be good this year
after having his sleep apnea addressed. But Nooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!

      Oh well see ya.

ONLY need to get rid of the following

      Cherrington
      Farrell
      Just another Joe
      Suckcello
      Tubby
      Me No Bend Over

Then we can start to think about having a team. πŸ˜€

      1. It is the last two that make me question the judgement in forming this group.

If they are willing to eat tens of millions they can dump Tubby and MNBO and move on. They should. Someone will take Pablo for the late season this year if they have a hole at 3b. Same for Ramirez as a DH.

That said we will enjoy watching Betts, Bogaerts and Swihart and perhaps Shaw as well for many years, I believe.

I must note that I am writing this all from Heaven, where I arrived in late October 2004 when the final out was recorded in St Louis. It is great up here.

        1. ROTFLMAO! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

I questioned it all, but I’ll go along with pablo and hanley. Still bitterly disappointed in the 2 pitchers.

Just Another Joe actually pitched a decent game last
night. Did he discover something? OR get lucky.
We’ll see next start. It’s a shame because he throws
so hard. IF he could only harness that energy.

Porcello has shown a flash here and there. Perhaps he can be saved, I dunno. We shall see.

  2. On a side note,,, you never look at any professional sports player as a role model,, how about better parenting, that is all. πŸ™‚

    1. If I understand what you are saying, I agree with the major sports. I can think of many golfers for instance who are excellent models. I cannot think of a recent major sport figure as a model. Although I think Brady is as close as it gets. And yes I will eat those words if forced to do it. But in the day I do,think there were major sports players who made good models. Times they are a changing.

      1. We don’t know what these pros do behind closed doors, or right in front of us, never and I mean never use a sports professional as a role model. And if they do, and our kids immulate them, it’s the parents fault, not the professional sports player. πŸ™‚

        1. Guess we will have to disagree. My life was greatly shaped by a sports figure who was no more than a regular person. Next to my mom and dad, he had more influence on me than just about anyone else. The problem is that many somehow believe celebrity makes a person different or special and put them on a pedastal and forget they are just like you and me. No individual can live up to that but that isn’t their fault. It is the fault of those who expect them to be more than human. I know of folks in all walks of life I wouldnt consider a roll model.

    1. I’m reading the 400+ transcript of the arbitration. Yes, I have too much time on my hands. I’m up to about page 200. Around pg 166 bradys crew had Dean of Yale who specializes in statistical reciew testify. He blew the entire measurement process out of the water. When NFL came to cross exam, they were remarkably rude. Or is it scared.

Another point I felt was Important was Bradys comment that it is the feel of the ball that matters and that doesn’t mean inflation….unless it is overinflated as in jets game. They condition the balls as a baseball player does a glove. Brady said he cannot tell a few psi difference because he doesn’t squeeze the ball. He compared it to holding a golf club. You cradle it.

Either way. I don’t think they will settle on the 12th and prob not on 16th. NFL has nothing to lose. And I’m am beginning to think the court will not overturn. Of 68 relatively similar employer employee decisions in that area recently, the court Only ruled against the employer two times.

      1. If Brady is telling the truth than he should go to the highest court of law to get this heard if need be and not just for him but for all the other players out there. A jet forget who supported Brady openly last week and said if anything at all it was a findable charge not suspensions and loss of draft picks . I also believe Kraft should be paying for all of this in support of his quarterback. I will say one thing is that I am extreamly surprised on how BB has handled this in my opinion horrible . BB has always spoke fondly about Tom and now when Tom needs him the most it’s I have no comment on that topic, what this is your super star and one of the best coach/ quarterbacks duo around. Well that’s not having Toms back is it. The thing about this also is that Brady does not seem to have the support that you would think he would have from around the league

        1. Around the league hate him because he has a hot wife,4rings, a life like nobody else, and they are jealous. They are even trying to get him out of league because he’s going to win 5 or 6 rings. It’s killing the haters πŸ™‚

          1. I don’t think anybody hates him in regards of how his wife may or may not look. Anybody also in the league can have a very good life as they all get paid good. I’ll just be happy one way or the other when this is resolved because I’m so sick of hearing about it in the news, papers, lawyers etc. it’s just a compleat joke that this is unfolding the way it is and still talking about it in August as if it just happened. I also am coming to the conclusion that the players are kicking themselves in the ass with the amount of power that they the players gave goofball commish.

            1. Trust me john, I’ve talked to many, many , many folks that just hate him because of what I stated above, and that’s from all 4 corners of this country πŸ™‚

Also I do somewhat agree with you, but don’t doubt yourself, or anybody on this blog, if Brady continues to win, and win and win, they will be looking for something.

              1. It unbelievabable how polarizing the New England Patriots have become around America, and even the world, in London Brady’s jersey is best seller, along with America.

  3. When the league gets serious about concussion issues and domestic abuse and murder I will begin to give it credence. Otherwise fuggedaboutit! This Brady stuff is all a distraction from the serious problems the league fails to address.

    1. I’ve actually been following the tempature this summer regarding Boston and pembroke. On most days not all pembroke has been milder by a few degrees.

  4. Beautiful stretch of weather. To think, as I did, that we’d be having rain this weekend. Last week I posted that we’d likely have rain this weekend. That’s called bad amateur forecasting.

In 2015, Brady is hated around the country. Different story in 2001/2002. He was loved then, as were the Patriots. I think generally fans get annoyed when they see prolonged success. This said, Brady has an image problem which is partly his doing. Whether it’s conscious or not, he puts himself out there front and center in the fashion world and as a jet setter. There’s nothing wrong with that, but it doesn’t project an image that most American fans can relate to or like. Brady is sort of like Christian Ronaldo, in this regard. Yet, Ronaldo is a soccer star, and they’re expected to be fashion trend-setters and revered not only for their play on the field but also their off-field lifestyle.

By the way, and I know that no-one cares as the Sox are terrible, but a super star I admire more than Brady, on a personal level in terms of honesty, personality, charitable giving – David Ortiz – is showing no real signs of slowing down. He’s driven in 4 runs (2 of them tying runs, and 2 go-ahead runs).

    1. R u kidding????? I would never admire him, he’s a steroid user and a selfish brat!!! Never never never!!! We don’t even know how old that liar is, wow!!! Don’t follow his footsteps’ wow!!!
