  1. I’m ok with this. 🙂 I think the weather has been pretty good the last 2 or 3 weeks, and several days of cool, damp weather are manageable. Good hockey weather for games 6 and hopefully game 7 !!!

  2. I can’t believe how many times I have read this is going to be a repeat of the summer of 2009. This is just an unsettled stretch we are having and it does not mean the whole summer is going to be like this. Looking at the glass half full it beats 3H weather.
Thunderstorm Index at a 1 tomorrow which is MINOR since I don’t see any severe weather.

  3. I am not minding the weather either. I was just having coffee on the porch and listening to the rain and it just felt and sounded nice. The summer of 1982 was much like this in June also – cold and wet. We were at Humarock for a couple of weeks and spent most of the time with a two year old walking in the rain and wearing winter clothes! We have not gone in June since 🙂

  4. I certainly don’t believe this will be like the summer of 2009, either. I believe that there is plenty of heat and humidity in our future. I also don’t mind this weather – for awhile, anyway. This morning we were out and were up in Bolton on Rte. 117. It was a pleasant drive – all the rain and the cool weather makes all the greens of the trees (there are a lot of trees in that area) look beautiful. Enjoy the rest of the wknd. everybody!

  5. I am going to disagree somewhat with what most are saying about our current damp, very chilly weather. Now I hate the hot, humid temps with a passion, but at the same time I shouldn’t have to come home from work as I did last evening and have to close all the windows and turn up a bit of heat to take the chill out in early “June”. As much as people keep referring to the summer of 2009, IIRC the “spring” of 2009 was quite nice and warm most of the time. The chill really began after Memorial Day and continued through mid-July then returned the last week or so of August with September nice again, but by then too little too late for most. I guess what I am trying to say is that we had such a lousy spring 2011, it is difficult for people to believe that this is not 2009 all over again. I do believe that summer 2011 will be wonderful in the long term…fingers crossed. 🙂

  6. Phillip I agree with you as well, should not have to feel such a chill in the air this time of year. I am a for the rain but really looking forward to consistent warm weather.

  7. I don’t mind this weather at all, I really hated the hot humid weather, I get a kick out of 1 of my friends that lives in Phoenix and I say I could never live there, he says it’s a dry heat, so I go there for a week last yr, it was 104 when I landed and 108 that afternoon, IMO a dry 108 is much more uncomfortable than a humid 85, have a good day

  8. This weather beats a triple H day. However I cannot not open the windows and spend time outdoors.
I do blame most of this cruddy weather on the fact that the NAO did some tanking over the last few days, which is causing a blocking in the jet stream and all the systems are getting stuck over New England.

Regarding the current visible satellite, we could be in store for some breaks of sun tomorrow, especially AWAY from the coast.

We still have yet to break into full time summer warmth, hopefully this pattern breaks soon, or the first half of summer could be quite the roller coaster ride featuring extreme heat, followed by drastic cool downs.

  9. I also would rather have 30 degrees and snowing over 110 degrees all day everyday. Perfect temp for highs is 65-70, and perfect nighttime low is 45-50, wish temps could be there for 9 months and then a snowy 3 months lol 🙂

  10. Thanks for the comments everybody!

No heat and not much sun for the next 7 days.

My reference to 2009 above was that this pattern will remind many of that summer. The long term pattern is not the same as that year, and this will not last into July.

A new blog has been posted. Comment away! 🙂
