Saturday Forecast

7:47AM

DAYS 1-5 (NOVEMBER 7-11)…
The weekend will see a cooling trend, though today will still be fairly mild compared to average, albeit with limited sun due to plentiful high and middle cloudiness moving up from the southwest as a low pressure waves forms and passes southeast of New England on the recently-passed front. High pressure pushes it all eastward tonight and Sunday, which turns out to be clear, crisp, and cool. High pressure slides offshore Monday and Tuesday at which time a warming trend will get underway, first with a sunny Monday then some increase in cloudiness Tuesday as a disturbance approaches from the southwest. This system may bring brief wet weather to parts of the region Tuesday night but should move along and give way to weak high pressure in time for decent weather for Wednesday, which is Veterans Day.
TODAY: Sun filtered by a high overcast and at times blocked by considerable middle cloudiness. Highs 60-65. Wind W 10-20 MPH with higher gusts.
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy evening. Clearing overnight. Lows 35-40 interior, 40-45 coast. Wind NW 5-15 MPH and gusty.
SUNDAY: Sunny. Highs 48-55, coolest interior higher elevations. Wind NW 10-20 MPH with higher gusts.
MONDAY: Sunny. Lows in the 30s. Highs in the 50s.
TUESDAY: Increasing clouds. Possible rain at night. Lows in the 40s. Highs in the 60s.
WEDNESDAY – VETERANS DAY: Partly sunny. Lows in the 50s. Highs in the 60s.

DAYS 6-10 (NOVEMBER 12-16)…
Low pressure system approaches from the west November 12 bringing clouds and eventually some rain. Conflicting information as to whether or not this system moves away November 13 or lingers for additional unsettled weather as it redevelops nearby, but leaning toward the lingering scenario now. Improving weather by November 14 though with possible wind and brief cold. Fair, chilly then moderating November 15-16 based on current timing.

DAYS 11-15 (NOVEMBER 17-21)…
The general pattern will continue to favor an overall mild/dry regime but with a couple quick unsettled events and brief cooler shots, depending on timing of systems.

  1. Thanks TK
Enjoying this mild weather to be able to continue to golf and get the leaves raked and bagged.

    1. I have 9 leaf barrels that I use right now. Will be filling all 9 between today and tomorrow, despite some windy conditions – it still has to get done. We have a local collection this coming week and another 2 weeks after. That will leave me 2 more weekends after the collection to refill the 9 barrels with the final lawn mowing, landscape clipping, and final leaves (which will be done November 21/22 weekend for the collection November 25).

        1. Wow. I’m surprised nothing after this week.
Woburn collects the last week of every month during the entire Spring and Summer into Autumn then increases to every other week in November through the first week of December.

  2. Good morning and thank you TK.

Need to bag some leaves this PM and hopefully take in a movie tonight.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2

Another beautiful day. Will they ever end?

  3. Thanks TK.

So upset of the century coming up tomorrow :), the Pats need to lose 1 or 2 games as to take the pressure off the team heading into the playoffs. You don’t want a 16-0 season heading into the playoffs bc the pressure can be too much as we saw several years ago.
So I am predicting a 34-31 Skins victory by last second field goal. Oh yeah and Ben I woke up πŸ™‚

    1. To paraphrase Rick Pitino (when he was Celtics coach)… “Joe Thiesman, John Riggins and Joe Gibbs are not walking through that door” πŸ™‚

  4. Just looked at the long range models, and they suggest as tk has been saying, an overall mild pattern, lots of 50’s to around 60 degrees heading towards thanksgiving. Hoping it can last into December, then a little bit of snow right before Christmas to make it look and feel like Christmas. Enjoy the weekend!! πŸ™‚

  5. Hadi no way pats loose to skins just not happening . Pembroke does not have leaf pickup you guys are so lucky. The wind down here is insane I can’t even do the cleanup it’s so bad .

  6. Our leaf collection goes through to thanksgiving. I think it was about 3 years ago framingham figured out leaves now fall later than they used to.

And Hadi there is always a chance. One can never say never πŸ™‚

  7. Turned on the A/C and dehumidifier yesterday! Pretty sure that’s a first for November!!!
Raking will begin today and continue thru Monday for a Tuesday pick-up. Two years ago I bought a Toro leaf mulcher/blower, which works really well. 10 bags of leaves become 3-4 bags of mulched leaves!

    1. Nicely Done and interesting NE Snow predictions.
Right on board with the generalized below average snowfall.

      We shall see.

  8. Redskins are not awful. Just not good enough to beat the Patriots. I don’t think the Pats will have their best game tomorrow, which will include uncharacteristic turnovers. It’ll be a close contest throughout: 31-27 Patriots.

  9. I know the Skins don’t stand much of a chance but it’s why they play the game. Remember Oakland last year nearly beat the Pats, couple years ago against the Browns etc… These losses happen to all great teams

    1. Your right, you never know what can happen, it’s obvious that if the Patriots have a terrible game with fumbles and interceptions with a overall terrible day, and the redskins have there best game of the year, they have a chance. If the Patriots have just an ok day, and the redskins have an ok day, Patriots win by 14-17pts πŸ™‚

    2. Hadi the Pats have had several losses against teams that were supposed to be a given. I’ve said in the past they can tend to let their guard down. You are absolutely right……never say never.

  10. Oh I think Pats win too, just don’t rule out an upset, because Skins have deep threat playmakers that could exploit the Pats secondary which is the only glaring weakness.

        1. Hadi you are a true fan and I admire that. I’m anxious for the game although I admit to having no idea of the time. 1:00?!

            1. I appreciate real fans. I remember the “Patsies” years for the Patriots. That required patience.

One of my former coworkers has been to every Pats home game since 1970 except for one that he had to miss because of being in a wedding. πŸ™‚

  11. Interesting on call nurse we just had visit. He was Israeli Navy Seal and then on our counter terrorism delta force.

      1. I took my daughter to the training that night too :). She actually came willingly. Ace was supposed to come too.

      2. I will let you know when I see the schedule. I don’t see one out there right now. Probably not until spring.

  12. Nice sunny, cool start to the morning here on Cape Cod.

Friday night, in the warm, humid air, we encountered fog and drizzle about 3 miles prior to the Sagamore Bridge and for the rest of the ride down route 6.

  13. Today’s AccuWeather Trivia Quiz.

How many days does it take for the moon to orbit the Earth?
    A. 27.3
    B. 29.2
    C. 31
    D. 33

    Answer later today.

    1. It takes 27.2 days for the moon to orbit earth–however, a lunar cycle is 29.5 days because both are orbiting the sun and there is a 2 day catch-up period before the new moon phase.

      1. …”there is a 2 day catch-up period before the new moon phase.”

Can you explain that? That sounds interesting.

What is the latest date on record that the temperature in Boston has reached 80 degrees?

    A. October 230th
    B. November 2nd
    C. November 4th

  15. Game day, looking over the skins injury report and it’s ugly. I just hope BB doesn’t run up the score too much πŸ™‚

    1. Sorry Hadi, But I hope he does as part of the Revenge tour. Sorry Vicki I know you don’t like that. I hope we put up 60!!! I really really do.

It’s just too bad it’s your team today Hadi. Nothing against you or the skins.

I want BB and the Pat’s to rub the NFL’s nose it in big time after what they
      put the team through.

      60-17 GO PATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      1. I absolutely have no problem with running up score. It bugs me to no end when people say we should not. Quitting because it makes another team feel good is ridiculous

          1. Yes with revenge not with running up score. I actually have no problem with revenge but I don’t believe it for a minute. That would mean the pats haven’t played to their fullest in the past and it took the deflate nonsense to get them to play their best

  16. Longshot thanks for the quizes.

In honor of the Pats, I’m going with BB for the 2 quizes.

    quiz #1 = B
