Sunday Forecast

2:59PM

DAYS 1-5 (MARCH 26-30)
No significant changes from what was posted yesterday. Unsettled pattern overall, but a little break to start out today with some sun before clouds return. Low pressure will track through the Great Lakes tonight and Monday but the warm sector of this system will be pinched off and stay to the south, keeping southern New England in the chilly air. The best threat of rain/mix will be during the day Monday. A follow up low pressure area will bring another risk for mainly rain late Tuesday. By Wednesday and Thursday, a colder and drier air mass arrives behind departing low pressure.
TODAY: Limited sun possible northern MA and southern NH mainly in the morning before clouds thicken up again. Rain possible southern MA, CT, and RI later in the day. Highs 38-45. Wind NE 5-15 MPH.
TONIGHT: Overcast with periods of rain, may mix with sleet/snow northern MA and southern NH. Lows 32-40. Wind NE 5-15 MPH, higher gusts.
MONDAY: Overcast with periods of rain, may mix with sleet/snow northern MA and southern NH. Highs 35-43. Wind NE to N 5-15 MPH, higher gusts.
TUESDAY: Cloudy. Risk of rain/mix mainly late day into night. Lows 28-35. Highs 35-43.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy. Windy. Chance of rain/snow showers early. Lows 28-35. Highs 37-45.
THURSDAY: Partly cloudy. Breezy. Lows 25-33. Highs 40-48.

DAYS 6-10 (MARCH 31-APRIL 4)
Dry and chilly March 31. Risk of unsettled weather at times April 1-4 with areas of low pressure passing south of or over the region again, with temperatures remaining somewhat below normal.

DAYS 11-15 (APRIL 5-9)
A continuation of an unsettled and cooler than normal pattern is expected.

  1. Thanks TK!

This morning Dave Epstein mentioned pretty much the exact same thing you did about the cold air still in Canada.

    1. This is why this is the type of spring you especially don’t rule out late season mix/snow events. It’s just not wise to declare such threats over in March, unless you have no real responsibility for giving out credible information.

  2. Good Sunday Sunny Morning from Sutton.

    Thank you, TK.

Beautiful blue sky with almost no clouds so far. Birds were sure celebrating this morning. We had cardinals, goldfinshes, bluebirds and the regulars all dancing around the yard and at the feeders.

    1. Yes I realized that later and then never fixed it. I guess I’ll do it now. πŸ˜›

  3. Cool NNE breeze this am. Clouds, as promised by TK, have moved in. They treated the roads in the night or more likely early morning hours. I would assume there was a freeze

  4. JpDave was supposed to quote me today re sunday/monday snow threat:

“Pssssh. That’s nothing. It will go away. Quote me on Sunday.”

And to add to this… Dare I say it… But I think we we’ve seen the last this season of accumulating snow in Boston and surrounding towns. Even the ocean temps are slowly starting to climb up. Now we just need some April showers to bring may flowers (which is what the pilgrims need to get here.)

    1. Hehe. Fun comment. I was surprised that the crocuses flowers…..typically fragile flowers….were still alive and well after the brick of snow that covered them melted. The hyacinth leaves that has just started pushing through may not have done as well. Time will tell

      1. those crocuses are hardy little guys. They can survive alot. In other news my rose bushes did very well in that cold snap πŸ™‚ Heck a little to well as one has green leaves and buds all ready on it. whoops

      1. Why would he be called out? I said before the last storm I had a feeling there wouldn’t be any more. I was careful to say it was based on absolutely nothing but a feeling. Seems I was hooked on the wrong feeling πŸ˜‰

  5. Out and about in Plymouth area, seeing some showers and trying to stay somewhat warm.

    Season word association :

    Winter ……….. Mild

    Spring ………… Cold

    Summer …….. Warm

    Autumn ……. Warm

    1. Lately I’d say I’m in agreement. I did just provide an estimate in Kingston steps from the ocean and it wasn’t that bad as none of us had jackets on. Tom we were also at Benny’s in Plymouth.

  6. I LOVE the texture of the overcast right now in my area. Mid level, solid features. Classic altostratus (non opaque). This is one of my favorite types of spring weather days. πŸ™‚

    1. I’m glad you said that. I was afraid to with this crowd πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰ JK

But I do love the ever changing faces of New England weather.

  7. Made it home and only saw some light rain from about Providence to Bridgewater. Thankful for a smooth ride!

    1. Wow. You made great time in both directions. So glad you are home safely and had a perfect trip

  8. It wasn’t as rainy this weekend as I thought . Is tomorrow going to be the same not that much rain.

    1. If you read my forecast you would not have expected much precip this weekend. πŸ™‚

      Much wetter tomorrow.

    1. Wasn’t lightning, just found out a transformer blew in town. It flashed in the sky on the drive home.

        1. No :). Was at a volleyball tournament for 10 hours and starving, so it is a a good thing it didn’t!

  9. Celtics are now tied for first in the eastern conference with Cleveland!!!! They play on Cleveland next week.

    1. The one sport that’s never on in my house. I couldn’t name one player on the team. I wish them luck . Heard revis is coming back to the patriots for a one yr deal.

        1. that has not happened, if it did it would of been all over social media , nfl network and other sports channels.

        2. It’s been talked about on radio last week . The jets cut him loose & he wants to play another year . The source said revis will only play for New England . This is not a done deal but very close sources with the NFL said he’s coming to the pats with butler expected to be gone .

  10. Can anyone weigh in on the subtropical activity north of Hispanola? Any potential for development? threats? Really early to be discussing tropics in late March?

    1. Channel 5 really wanting to go for the gold with (aside from monday) straight 50’s across the board.

  11. boston might have seen the last snowfall, but with the current pattern I would not be surprised that Boston does not see a chance for a dusting.
In other news I was mad today as there was a stowe bus trip and saw the conditions. Packed freaking powder with 100% terrain opened. Oh if I did not have responsibilities… I hate adulting πŸ˜›

    1. You are honest. I sometimes hate adulting and I’m a few…emphasis on few…years older than you. Enjoy youth while you can.
