  1. Franklin looks pretty healthy this morning. Thinking that a later advisory this morning could see the winds raised (maybe to 60 to 70 mph ) and the pressure dropped…..

Another fairly slow moving low pressure system traveling along the south coast of New England with a fairly decent area of rain. If it weren’t mild and eventually muggy out again, I’d say the pattern, storm-wise, is more winter-like.

  2. I woke up to soft rain at about 5:30 but don’t know when it began. It’s just overcast and humid here now. I think the rain stopped about an hour or so ago. There was a horrible stage collapse at a concert in Indianapolis at the Indiana State Fair. I believe it had to do with the system that went through there. My husband and I were watching the little league regional game in Indianapolis last night and it had to be stopped because of the system.

  3. Hey everyone…. Back from vacation where the heat and humidity were not that bad down in the Mid Atlantic. It looks like a bit of an unsettled stretch but some nice summer weather returns mid week.
I looked at Henry Margusity’s prelimanary forecast for winter and he is calling for normal snowfall. I remember last year the early call was for normal snowfall from him and Joe Bastardi and we know what happened. I don’t see a repeat of last winter and if I had to give a number right now I am thinking no more than 50 inches for Boston.
For the record checking the Farmers’ Almanac prediction for us on their discussion board it is calling for a wet winter with above normal temperatures. Will see.

  4. I thought several people (but do not know who) called for lower than normal last year too.

Does anyone have a sense of what Aug 20-Sept 3 will be like I know that is a very long way out but we’ll be in Scituate for those two weeks. We’ve had one very stormy week and one lovely week for the past two years during the same two weeks.

      1. Welcome back JimmyJames…….I’ll take a guess Vicki…. Overall, the northeast may be getting into a tropical pattern, warm, but not hot with periods of showers and storms as the flow along the east coast is from the southwest…..Your right John and the 30 minute rides from exiting Rte 3 begin. 🙂

        1. Yes Tom your right. But just a few more weeks and It will be quiet again. We bank at the eastern in Marshfield
and the ride has been tough.

        2. Thanks Tom. Is that mostly good or mostly bad:)

John our younger daughter and family spends the first week with us and don’t go to the fair but our older daughter and family will go during the second week. I’ve outgrown fairs :). And our son and my husband will alternate between beach and golf
