  1. And once again, now in the 2nd round, the NHL playoff format frustrates.

You have the 2 teams with the most points in its conference facing each other, while the other 2 teams, who had LESS points get to face each other.

In the NBA, this would be like having one semi-final matchup of a 60 win team vs a 59 win team, while the other semi-final matchup features a 53 win team vs a 52 win team.

That’s giving yourself the best chance of having the 2 best teams in the conference final.

  2. Interesting B’s game. They got really sloppy in their own end, but finally
rectified that and poured it on in the 3rd period. Nice overall win.
    They did it. Onto Tampa.

  3. MOOKIE! MOOKIE! MOOKIE!!!

You think the Sox have a good one in this young player??? Eh?

    Me thinks so.

  4. Question for tech salvy people. Last night Dell laptop with windows worked fine. This morning got to class and laptop is not working. It does not start up. Any ideas on how to get all my stuff I had on it and or how to fix it?

    1. Did it perform some sort of Windows Update when you shut it down last night?
      Did it shut down normally?

        1. I don’t have a laptop, but that is good information.
Wouldn’t it be cool IF this rectifies Matt’s problem.
          Nice find.

          1. Thank you, JPD. I only use a laptop now, connected to a larger monitor. I’ve had this happen and believe it was with my older Dell. I’m hoping it works also.

Matt, I started using Carbonite to back up my files. I have an external hard drive but was really bad about backing up. With Carbonite, I can choose what to back up and it does the rest.

  5. Thank you, TK.

Murky and a bit humid out, but pleasant temps. The birds seem to be enjoying it, as worms surface and become breakfast or brunch.

I’m glad I was proven wrong on my Bruins prediction. And I hope to be wrong about the Celtics, too. We’re certainly blessed in this town to have winners all around.

Mookie is a great player. I’d much rather have him than Stanton. More versatile, doesn’t strike out as much, plays well in the field, instinctive, all the attributes of a 5-tool player.

  6. OMG, is it ever beautiful out there. Just came back. WOW!
I rate it a solid 10 on the JP scale. Now, this is what SPRING SHOULD BE!
Yes, I know. Spring is what it is around here and we have to take the good with the bad. That’s what makes the good so much better. 😀

  7. Matt, did you try the safe mode (hitting F8 after you turn on the power). Sometimes that works. Once you’re in safe mode shut down the computer properly, power up again, and sometimes this does the trick.

  8. Trend is to delay the warm up next week and also cut it back a little sooner. Probably going in this direction.

      1. It won’t be too bad. Just may deepen the trough enough to slow it getting out of here and then drag that front in sooner late next week, but I’m not seeing a return to a deep chill of any kind. In fact, the overall pattern still looks on the + side of normal as far as temp goes.

        1. All I care about is the humidity. How bad it is i rather a 90 degree day than 80 degree day and humid

          1. I understand that. Humidity never bugs me much but a lot of people are very sensitive to it.

      2. Atlanta has been unusually cool, Philip. Several times we have been warmer here than my sister in law was when we chatted on the phone.

  9. Best of both worlds and I know a few may disagree on this one…

I had to watch last night’s game 7 at my friend’s via Hulu which meant it was NBC’s feed and Doc was the announcer. I like him as an announcer so watching the game was fun. I also DVR’d the game at home on NESN with Jack & Brick. I am going to watch that tonight with no nerves since I know the outcome. 😉 I know some people are annoyed by Jack’s style but I think he’s hilarious. He’s no Fred Cusick but he’s an awesome Bruins fan, and that’s what you want from a local broadcast – bias! Unbiased announcing belongs on national telecasts. 🙂

Great spring day today. Lots of fair weather cu once we cleared out the stuff from this morning, which has temporarily dropped the fire danger, but that will come back again early next week. As it does seasonally (minus severe drought) it will drop off with the leaf-out which will be happening rather quickly over the next few weeks.

    1. I like Jack and Brick too, but Doc and Milbury were my choice last night.

I’m looking to watch some of the Penguins – Capitals series.

The Penguins are to the Caps what the Canadiens used to be to the Bruins.

  10. The Bruins goaltending has got to improve to say the least. No way will they beat Tampa giving up 4 goals per game and expect to win even one. Perhaps if Tukka is plain tired then start the back-up? With no home ice advantage Bruins are going to have to steal at least one on the road.

    1. I don’t usually look too much at the records during the season but it is at least noteworthy that the Bruins beat the Lightning 3 out of 4 times they played them during the regular season.

      1. Why? He was great in the 3rd. The team came together and won the series. Start your starter in game 1 of any series unless he’s injured.
