The Week Ahead

10:37PM

It’s pretty straightforward this week, ladies and gentlemen. Summer warmth dominates the first half of the week, Fall coolness the 2nd half, with a few showers possible late Monday as warm air becomes more established, and showers/thunderstorms possible Wednesday as the leading edge of the cooler air bumps into the warm air that will be in place.  Early call on next weekend: fabulous start, and possibly all the way through, but we may need to watch moisture and developing low pressure to our south for late in the weekend or early the following week.

In the tropics, Maria will track between Bermuda and the US East Coast, as a tropical storm or minimal hurricane, later this week. Only some of the larger swells may impact the coastline, like with Katia this past week.

Boston Area Forecast for the next 7 Days…

MONDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy. Low 60-65. Wind SW 5-15 MPH.

WEDNESDAY: Scattered showers/thunderstorms. Low 60. High 77.

  1. Thanks for the update TK….. Looking forward to this week’s weather of some summer and some autumn. Kind of ready for a couple of those 44F very cool mornings…..The sun is now late March strength. Have a good day all !

  2. Thanks TK.
Thunderstorm Index Wednesday at a 1 right now meaning should thunderstorms develop they will remain below severe levels. As always its worth keeping an eye on. The bigger deal is what is behind this cold front which is a nice preview of autumn with highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s. Were getting to that time of year where a cold front actually cools you down instead of just taking away the muggy air like in the summer.

  3. Just to comment regarding previous posts about the city of Boston. I was born here and love it and would never, ever leave. I have no problem with our lack of tall skyscrapers or the fact that many businesses shut down early evenings. The only issue I do have is that our public transit shuts down a bit too early. It would be nice if it could be extended until 2:00 am. I am not quite comfortable with “all night” service necessarily, but a couple hours after midnight would be helpful for those like myself who work evenings or those who take in a night out for fun. There are times in which I get out of work and since I take more than one mode of public transit (two trains, one bus) to get home, have to take a taxi part of my way home. Fortunately for my wallet it doesn’t happen most nights, but still…

    1. We continue to fall back and I hate that, when I didn’t live here and lived in Dallas I loved how everything was within 45min from six flags to top restaurants, to some beautiful creative skyscrapers built in the suburbs. I thought that was cool, and we could get a nice meal in suburbs at 10 or 11pm Boston is old with boxy looking towers everywhere and most don’t like old and expense hence 2.3 million new englanders have left, people want a relatively new house not a house built in the 1930’s, I don’t care if it’s on the historical list, that’s just me though we can’t be afraid of change

    2. I’m also one of the people that say rip down Fenway and build a bigger nicer Fenway park, every big sports city that has alot of history rip them down to build better, and we r afraid of change it’s very clear, but I’m not, take it easy

  4. TK, here is my request for temperature and precipitation. If you don’t have time, understood. Say no more.

    Berlin: 17th — 22nd
    Warsaw/Krakow: 22nd — 27th
    Budapest: 28th — 30th
    Prague: Oct 1st — 3rd

    1. I will get you the best outlook I can by Thursday night. Just keep in mind that after the 22nd things are going to be very sketchy since they are all day 7 and beyond.
