One Step At A Time

3:51PM

Low pressure will still be in control through Thursday but slight improvement will be showing each day, in the form of less ocean drizzle/showers and more breaks in the clouds. This will allow instability showers and thunderstorms to fire up well inland, however. Once we get by this, it looks like a warmer, drier pattern will take over starting about Friday and lasting into the start of next week.

Forecast for eastern MA, southern NH, and RI…

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy. Isolated showers and patches of drizzle. Low 48-53. Wind N under 10 MPH.

WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy to partly sunny with the greatest chance of sunbreaks well inland. Isolated to scattered showers and patches of drizzle. A slight chance of thunderstorms well inland in the afternoon. High 60-65, upper 50s some coastal areas. Wind N 5-15 MPH shifting to E.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy. Isolated showers early. Low 50-55. Wind light variable.

THURSDAY: Partly sunny. Isolated showers and thunderstorms especially inland during the afternoon. High middle 60s coast to middle 70s far inland. Wind NE-N 5-15 MPH.

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny. Low 56. High 75.

SATURDAY: Partly cloudy. Low 57. High 77.

SUNDAY: Mostly sunny. Low 58. High 79.

MONDAY: Mostly sunny. Low 60. High 81.

TUESDAY: Mostly sunny. Low 62. High 83.

  1. Thanks TK.
Looks very nice once we get to Friday. With those lows in the 50s Friday through Sunday the humidity should be in check but may start to build a little earlier next week lows in the 60s.

  2. I really hope the EURO is out the lunch for what it’s showing for the weekend. I also took the GFS route, which would make both days pretty good, with Sunday being spectacular.

    1. I see what you mean. Todd has morning showers with “slow” clearing for Sunday. All other forecasts I have seen though have a great weekend for us.

    1. Thank you Scott. My grandson and I just watched it. I almost got him a small telescope for his bday next week but didn’t. And now I’m sorry. He was fascinated by the video of the telescope. Does anyone know of one made for very young children ?

    1. I still have the sinus thing lingering (cough, stuffy/runny nose, etc.) but in general I feel fine. Some of this may now be allergy-related, though thankfully I don’t get nailed with allergies the way I did when I was younger.

      1. TK my son h.ad same thing you did and is still trying to get rid of all the phlegm. A lot of it is going around. Feel better!!

        1. Thanks! I guess it’s just pay back for the fact I didn’t get ANYTHING during the entire “cold season”. 😉

  3. Now what i see next week is what i like to see in the forcast for the summer months. 90 by tuesday and 80s all weekend.

  4. I can not call my self a high school graduate. How awsome if feels to have that diploma.

    1. there is not suppose to be a not in there
i graduated and have a diploma. Do not worry

        1. Coastal my husbands uncle graduated top in class from MIT. He was one of the most senior employees at one of the largest companies in this country. He couldn’t spell worth a darn.

          Go figure

          1. And word to the wise when someone goes after another persons grammar or spelling I go on the hunt 🙂 🙂

            1. There is a purpose behind my comment and should not be looked upon as a personal attack.

              1. im actually kidding about me on the hunt – i’m trying a new keyboard for my ipad which i don’t like wasnt’ kidding about my uncle in law though- was a purpose behind that comment too

        2. yeah i am tired i was at the blast all night I just woke up when i typed that. 🙂

            1. my gradutation ceremony was tuseday night. Then my parents brought me to the japan steak house , then it was the blast which was all night. i won a basket of candy 🙂 and yes my grandparents got to the ceremony. I was sad and happy at the same time.

    1. As long as its late. My grandsons 5th bday party is Saturday. Amazing how he gets older and I don’t:D

      1. I think charlies area is mother natures favorite. 🙁

Just kidding. We got .23 and the Sudbury river is actually rising finally.

  5. Logan is sitting at -7.2F below normal thru June 5th and today is going to go into the books as several degrees below normal. Since the avg highs go from 73 or 74 now to nearly 80 by months end, it’s probably going to take a few 90F days to keep the streak of above normal monthly temp departures going.

      1. Yes, I think it is something like 11 months in a row of above normal temps. I think I also heard Boston had the 1st warmest fall, winter and spring and 2nd warmest summer last year.

  6. Heard a report of accumulating snow on top of mt Washington yesterday, is that unusual for this time of year?

    1. My buisiness associate was up that way and didn’t say anything. Memorial day used to be a huge MA ski weekend there. Tom would know I bet. How was golf. Sun was shining:)

      1. Golf game is all over the place Vicki, no consistency. Shot a 49 on tues which is way above my ave. It was still gloomy and cool with occasional drizzle in Canton, sun didnt show at all. Hopefully the forecast holds for next tues. Wish your husband good luck tonight!

        1. Husband is saying the same about his game. He said he plays well but scores horribly because 2 or 3 holes are wayyyyy off while the rest are great. I’ll be happy to wish him good luck – thank you!

    1. Not sure – but it looks like the storm is going to stay just west of where I am in Sudbury. Can actually see the end of the storm to the west as it moves south – lots of blue sky at the end of the storm. Beautiful sky today!

  8. Doppler radar showing heavy rain/thunderstorm just formed near Hudson. There was some red in it but then it looks like it is starting to weaken. I guess that is called “pulsing”? These cells keep changing all the time. We are getting more thunder and it is dark to the west-northwest.

    1. Hey Rainshine…. That is pulsing when you see a storm weak then get strong quickly only to go back to a weaken form
quickly. Sometimes these storms could reach severe levels as a storm did in southeastern CT yesterday. Overall I am thinking
the storms stay below severe level so only going with a 1.
Tomorrow Thunderstorm Index at a 2 for areas CT River Valley west since there is a chance of some severe weather.

  9. Sun out here. Other than a downpour and a few good thunder claps was minor. I hear thunder to my southwest and it’s dark but can’t see it on radar.
