Sunday September 14 2025 Forecast (7:14AM)

DAYS 1-5 (SEPTEMBER 14-18)

An upper level trough can trigger a few more isolated showers today, but coverage will be isolated and most of the region will be dry most of the day (if hit by one) or all of the day (if not hit by one) – so not a bad day at all other than having to pay attention to the clouds and/or radar if outside. Generally fair weather dominates much of the time Monday to Thursday with high pressure in control, except Wednesday when low pressure passing by to our southeast will likely cause considerable cloud cover and at least a chance of a little rainfall making it to the South Coast. Will watch it.

TODAY: Sun / cloud mix. Isolated to scattered showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon, favoring areas south of MA/NH border. Highs 72-79. Wind variable 5-15 MPH.

TONIGHT: Clearing. Lows 48-55. Wind W up to 10 MPH.

MONDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 68-75. Wind NW up to 10 MPH with coastal area breezes.

MONDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear. Low elevation fog patches. Lows 43-50. Wind calm.

TUESDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 71-78. Wind variable up to 10 MPH with coastal sea breezes.

TUESDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear. Low elevation fog patches. Lows 43-50. Wind calm.

WEDNESDAY: Clouds increase. Chance of light rain near the South Coast. Highs 67-74. Wind NE 5-15 MPH.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Clearing. Low elevation fog patches. Lows 44-51. Wind NE to variable under 10 MPH.

THURSDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 72-79. Wind variable to SW up to 10 MPH.

DAYS 6-10 (SEPTEMBER 19-23)

A Canadian cold front drops through the region between later September 19, likely with no more than an isolated shower and a notable wind shift. High pressure builds in with fair weather during the September 20-21 weekend, the last of astronomical summer. Autumnal Equinox occurs at 2:19 p.m. EDT September 22, and we welcome autumn early next week with high pressure shifting offshore, a warm up, and maybe a shower chance, but the overall pattern continues to look rather dry.

DAYS 11-15 (SEPTEMBER 24-28)

Overall pattern remains dry and fairly seasonable overall despite some temperature variation.

  1. Funny that yesterday I mentioned I thought that some short range guidance (including the newer RRFS) overdid yesterday’s showers, which turned out not to be the case, and was likely under-doing today’s, which also may not turn out to be the case.

In short, I’ve been rather impressed several times with the RRFS. I like long trial periods, but so far it’s proving a pretty useful piece of short range guidance.

  2. Thanks TK !

    Wordle: 4

Getting to mid September, without looking, I think the avg high at Logan is now 74F?, which says temps will be avg to occasionally above avg through Friday.

The real point of the above paragraph is how cool it was August 18th thru early September, because we’re back now to something more realistic compared to long term, average temps

    1. Very nice, Tom.

3 for me I just discovered the Wordle bot. It analyzes your guesses. I don’t quite understand all of it yet, but looks interesting

      1. I got it in two today.

My first guess had the last letter correct and one yellow which turned out to be the first letter.

  3. As we’re sitting outside this morning at the campground, my wife said, it’s warm !

I was comfortable …… I had to then run an errand including stopping at the campground office, which had the AC on and then I could feel better what my wife was talking about because there was a noticeable difference btwn the air in the office vs outside.

Definitely some humidity in the air today, compared to what we’ve experienced the last 4 weeks.

    1. Our bottled water out of the fridge is sweating bullets

I was out to the store and walking from the car to the store it felt like it was 96 out there to me. It REALLY felt warm!!!!
I got home and it is only 73 here, dp 58 but it feels MUCH warmer and more humid.

Long story short, I agree with you and your wife 100%!!!

  4. Thanks TK! I had to take a week off the blog since my dad passed away Saturday, Sept 6th. About tow hours after he passed the skies over southern Queens, NYC lit up with thunderstorms. He always enjoyed a good storm
and lightning went on for hours. Got back to Massachusetts last night and hoping this week is quiet and ordinary. This past month has juts felt nuts!

    1. Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of your dad. I think he sent you a really special sign that he is ok ❤️

    2. Jimmy:

Please know of my love, prayers and sympathy on the passing of your beloved Dad. May he know eternal joy and peace and may God give you and your family strength and consolation at this most difficult time.

  5. I didn’t mention it yesterday, but it was 10 years since my dad passed away (9/13/2015). Doesn’t seem that long, but time is funny that way. We spent yesterday afternoon (my brothers, sisters-in-law, and myself) going over things from the service for mom and talking about future plans, etc.

    1. So sorry I missed the anniversary of your dad’s passing. Big hugs to you at this difficult time ❤️

  6. Between Florida and the Azores sit 4 upper lows and very unfavorable conditions for development. I don’t agree with 70% through 7 days for it, maybe 50%.

  7. Daughter said it poured buckets in Uxbridge. Big clouds but sun is back out here. Not a drop just a few miles away

  8. For the Sox ……

The schedule is looking to help them as …..

Texas plays Houston for 3 games starting Tuesday and Cleveland is at Detroit for 3 games, so I’d ghey could win tonight and win at least 2 of 3 from Oakland, they probably get back to a 4, maybe 5 game wild card cushion with what will be 9 left to play.

I hope so because they end with 3 @ Toronto and 3 at home vs Detroit.

  9. Thanks TK.

Vicki, I’m here and reading every day just been busy with work, back to school, etc. We moved my son into college at Bentley right before Labor Day weekend and then were up at my mothers in NY for the long weekend where we spent some time on Sacandaga Lake and went to the races in Saratoga. Felt weird without my son being there this year but he seems to be enjoying himself so far. The school has a free shuttle to Harvard Sq and from there he can easily get into Boston on the T.

    1. Thank you, Mark

It Is such an exciting time for you all.

My very close cousins grandson was just moved to
Bentley for his first year. Maybe we can connect

Either way I wish your son an amazing year.

      1. That’s great, Bentley is an excellent school. My son doesnt know exactly what he wants to do yet but obviously its going to be something business/finance related. He is in the Trees complex which is one of the main freshman dorms so entirely possible he is in the same area as your cousin’s grandson. He has made several friends with people in his dorm and from his orientation group.

TK, if you see this, if you wouldnt mind sending me Vicki’s email. Thx.

        1. Perfect. I’ll pass this to my cousin too. And i wide all incoming freshmen and all established students a special year

        2. I sent it to the email that I had saved for you. I hope it’s the right one. If not, let me know!

  10. The Patriots won in Miami for the first time since 2019 when they won 43-0. Unfortunately I have absolutely ZERO memory of that game. TB-12’s last year as a Patriot. 🙂

As for the Red Sox, they will drive me absolutely crazy for the rest of the season into the (brief) postseason. They will likely be the overall weakest of the playoff field. The series loss to the Yankees hurts a lot imo.

When all is said and done, the 2025 Red Sox postseason will be remembered by the loss of the player above. I certainly will have it fixed in my memory.

    1. The difference between a series loss and series win in this series is one game. It won’t hurt them a lot.

Also don’t agree about them being the “weakest”. You really don’t have any faith in this team, do you? 🙂

The Pats 43-0 win was great to watch. Remember it well!
