Sunday November 1 2026 Forecast (8:23AM)

COMMENTARY

Welcome to November 2026! This is the first day of the third month of Meteorological Autumn, and also the day (this year) we have made the switch from Daylight Saving Time to Standard Time. If you have any clocks that do not automatically switch, and you haven’t switched them, now would be the time to do so! My other reason for this commentary section before I move onto the daily forecast discussion and details and look a little further out to mid month is just to thank everybody for being a part of this weather blog! There’s a core group of folks who chat in the comments section daily who are like a family, and it’s always wonderful to see them there. But there are also many folks who are just here to read the blog itself and choose not to participate in the commentary, and that’s perfectly OK. Nobody is required to comment, but you are always encouraged to do so! I do allow a bit off off-weather chat there, but I do maintain a “no politics” policy for obvious reasons. There are other places to take those types of discussions, and I do like to keep the focus mainly on the weather in that section, again with the occasional deviation to maybe a word game or sports or even general news items. I try to monitor the blog the best I can, and have a couple others watching it to make sure things don’t get out of hand. So this part of this commentary is just a reminder to keep that in check. If people think about what they are going to say before they say it, we’d find the need for moderation action would be minimal. I think everybody can do that! And I say this now not because there has been a problem, but just as a reminder only! Regarding my discussions and my own comments, you’ll continue to see the no-hype style I’ve always used, and a blog that may include links to graphics and pictures from other cited sources, but not a blog that I am going to load up with colorful images. I prefer the text blog format as a break from all of that because it’s all out there in abundance, and my opinion of just how much is out there can be saved for another commentary section. Haha! Not that I’m against it. I’m not. But I like this place to be an alternative to all of that, and so it remains! My forecasts are not always going to be on the money – none of us can do that. But you can always be sure that I will give it my best shot and will be ready to admit when I’ve messed it up. If you can’t do that, you can’t learn why you did it and try to improve. That’s part of the scientific method. And meteorology is science. I will continue to use the scientific method when crafting my discussions and predictions. Without that foundation, nothing else you do is going to carry much value. Anyway, I hope you continue to enjoy this blog moving forward through the rest of 2026 and into the year ahead! Two notes: 1) My winter forecast will be issued somewhere around November 20. 2) Most of you know this, but in case you do not, I will be having a heart procedure to repair my mitral valve, as well as an ablation for arrhythmia, in late January of 2027. This will probably result in the blog not being updated for a handful of days starting with the day of the procedure and (if all goes as planned) a couple to a few days in ICU. I’ll update everybody on this as it gets closer. Thanks again everybody for your support!

DAYS 1-5 (NOVEMBER 1-5)

High pressure continues to dominate our weather as we start November and will provide fair, pleasantly cool weather today followed by a warming trend heading toward midweek as the high center slips eastward and offshore. A trough will approach our region by Thursday, with increased moisture due to a southerly air flow on the back side of the high. This introduces the chance of rain showers by that day.

TODAY: Sunny. Highs 56-63. Wind variable up to 10 MPH.

TONIGHT: Clear. Lows 38-45. Wind S under 10 MPH.

MONDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 62-69. Wind SW 5-15 MPH.

MONDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy. Lows 43-50. Wind SW to variable under 10 MPH.

TUESDAY: Partly cloudy. Highs 60-67. Wind variable to S up to 10 MPH.

TUESDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy. Patchy fog. Lows 43-50. Wind S up to 10 MPH.

WEDNESDAY: Partly sunny. Highs 62-69. Wind S 5-15 MPH.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Variably cloudy. Lows 48-55. Wind S 5-15 MPH.

THURSDAY: Variably cloudy. Chance of showers. Highs 58-65. Wind S 5-15 MPH, higher gusts.

DAYS 6-10 (NOVEMBER 6-10)

A trough from the west and moisture from the south combine for a good shot at widespread rainfall on November 6, after which the surface system departs but upper low pressure keeps it unsettled November 7 before high pressure brings dry weather November 8-9. Next unsettled weather chance ~ November 10. Temps start mild, turn cooler, then moderate. Lots of detail to work out for this period.

DAYS 11-15 (NOVEMBER 10-14)

Unsettled potential early period, then a trend to dry. Temperatures near to above normal.

  1. Thank you for the forecast and comments about the blog. Both important!

Another important part of the weather today is in Miami where I believe it could really rain … like lots of rain! I believe Warnings have been issued. The stadium itself is only partially covered.

  2. Good morning and thank you TK.

    43 up from 34

    Ocean: 55 Historical average: 52.7

Wordle: FAIL Got last 2 letters in position and it was miss after miss after miss as there were so many choices. Even when I had the last 4 in position, still too many choices.

I’ll post my path to failure below.

Thank you TK for allowing this wordle thing we are doing. I know you don’t have to do this.

Another BEAUTIFUL day on tap!!!! Love it!!!

    1. My brother got 2 again yesterday. That’s 8 times in 3 weeks. Prior to that, he never got it in 2. Not sure what’s up with this guy. And he’s quite honest about it. He sends me the progressions and when I am at work he shows me in person. 🙂

    1. Ugh ugh ugh. Look at those choices. Nice try and you’ll be back tomorrow. Meanwhile come on up to the 4 car.

And the word finder word I used for first guess yesterday was YOUSE. I honestly don’t think it’s a word. I used another one today that I’m not sure about. I just try to find a word with the most vowels and no repeating letters

      1. YOUSE guys should NEVER use YOUSE.

Youse is a nonstandard second-person plural pronoun used to address two or more people (equivalent to “you all” or “y’all”), though it is sometimes applied to a single person representing a group

  3. Thank you, TK. We are like family and have been for 17 years. Is it really 17?? I wonder how many social media forums have lasted even half that many years.

For those who read only, TK is correct of course. No one has to post. But in case it feels hard to break into an existing group, please know we love welcoming new family members.

Today. We are 35 which is a degree below our overnight high. Our low was 26

  4. 12Z HRRR Rainfall through 8PM tonight for Miami

    https://www.pivotalweather.com/model.php?m=hrrr&p=qpf_acc-imp&rh=2026110112&fh=13&r=us_se&dpdt=&mc=

Again virtually nothing on the immediate coast to nearly 5 inches not too far inland. How far inland is the stadium?

It is located in Miami Gardens, NORTH of Miami
at coordinates: 25.94 North and 80.256 West

If you hover your mouse to find those coordinates you come up
with 0.32 inch of rain through 8PM. That shouldn’t be too bad
that is IF this model is correct.

      1. Very deep moisture in the atmosphere with a moderate SW flow aloft.

Additional low level moisture in the lower quarter of the atmosphere with easterly flow off the very warm ocean.

Where it rains, the atmosphere will dump a tremendous amount of water.

      1. I prefer 1PM. 4:30 screws up dinner!!!

I’d like to get a pizza tonight, but I am NOT going to miss any of the game to go get it and it cannot be done during 1/2 time, just not enough time. We cannot get a local pizza as my wife has severe allergies and cannot eat any pizza other than Bertuccis. Bertucci’s Makes their dough fresh daily WITHOUT additives that most pizza joints use. wiith traffic cannot order it, pick it up and be back in 12 minutes.

I may pick it up about 4 PM and just heat it up at 1/2 time.
        We shall see. 🙂 🙂

        1. I like the different times and adjusting around them.

I already have my football brunch plan for November 15 when the Pats kick-off is 9:30 a.m. 🙂

    1. I think the area of the stadium may end up in a dry slot for a while and may avoid some of the heavier rain bands that will be starting to circulate into a developing low in South Florida.

    2. That where part in the middle right is crucial. It could end up over the stadium and it could end up being largely dry. Probably somewhere in the middle, dry stretches and then, some play during heavy rain.

      1. Well, for the moment, we are somewhere between a dry slot and torrential rains.

Pats are favored by a touchdown.

        1. Yes.

Miami has been the Patriots house of horrors.

The 14-2, 13-3, 15-1 Brady teams, steamrolled everyone, but had their fare share of losses in Miami.

          1. It certainly has, even in the days of the power house teams with Brady, Miami has managed to BEAT the Patriots in Miami.

I will never forget the loss on the final kick off where Miami lateraled several times and made great plays to avoid tackles to SCORE the winning touch down!!!!

Let’s us hope nothing disastrous like that happens today.

    3. That sounds foreboding!!!! I posted 2 models that did show all that much for Miami Gardens, BUT the Miami NWS warn that those model amounts could be ANYWHERE!!!!

Let’s HOPE it is mostly a MISS for Miami Gardens!!!

  5. Miami Gardens is North and a bit West of Miami to the tune of about 15 miles, so we cannot go by what is happening in Miami.
Have to get a little more specific than that.

It is almost the exact same distance as Orchard park is the Buffalo in New York. And we know with Lake effect that 15 miles can be huge with Nothing in Buffalo and feet in Orchard park.

So this will be most interesting how it all plays out.

  6. Well, earlier model times are back and many days of 60F plus, starting tomorrow and maybe even today.

    Sounds good to me 🙂

Cold, cold, stay away as long as you’d like.

For the winter lovers, I think the 00z GFS through something in there very long range that might bring hope 🙂

      1. That 15 miles “might” just make the difference for the Pats to be able to play in somewhat decent weather instead of a Deluge!!!

I say “might” , I will be watching all day. 🙂

    1. I don’t like the
“Future Cast” of this radar. Shows considerable rain even for Miami Gardens. Of course, I have No idea of what goes into that?? What model(s) or ensembles or what?

  7. Thanks TK for this awesome forum!

Wordle 3 today, got lucky with guess 2, narrowed it down to only 1 possibility.

And what a fantastic stretch of weather! Late season golf has been a nice surprise.

    1. Pats favored by 7 but as stated they often find a way to lose in Miami. Have to stay positive on this one. Miami has a bad team.

      1. Patriots have a history of playing down to the competition and have lost many a game to an inferior team. Let us hope under
        Vrabel that will change.

      1. If it is raining or not, the field could still be slippery.
The last thing the Patriots need is another injury.
At the very least, let us hope they escape the game injury free for once this season!!!

Not for nothing, is it my imagination or something else but it seems there are far more injuries this season than in past seasons. Is it conditioning? Steroids (hidden or not)? or just plain bigger stronger players? Dirtier tactics? I don’t know but is “appears” like something is going on.

  8. Between now and March 14, 2027 could very well be the last time this nation runs on “Standard Time” in its history.

I myself plan on savoring EVERY minute. At least we know that the sun itself will continue to run on its “own” time regardless of what we (fickle) humans decide.

    1. I highly doubt that we’ll ever end up on permanent DST. At worst, apparently the nation needs a harsh reminder of how badly the experiment went in 1974, and a reality slap that it will go even more poorly post-2026 when we combine our current over-crowding with impatience of the general population. I’m just hoping that if/when that happens, no lives are lost.

IF we go to DST, I give it 1 year before it’s “cancelled” .. for the 2nd time.

  9. Currently the bill is stalled in the Senate. If it is passed, then it would become a question of the start date. Then there is the question of which states will observe it. For example, Hawaii and Arizona do not observe Daylight Savings Time.

There are arguments for and against in every direction.

    1. I personally think what should happen is we go standard time but areas that will see sunsets go before 530 move to the previous timezone. As if it we stay standard it will be way to early of sunrises in the summer.

      1. Yes this is the “dry slot” I was talking about.

Important to note that “dry” in this case does not refer to the dew point, but only the amount of rain. It will be oppressively humid.

  10. Still very humid, but drying out (in terms of rainfall) and some breaks in the clouds are developing in the area.

Right now it looks to me that the axis of new development will be WEST of Miami, so things are indeed improving.

The only thing they have to swim through is the very muggy air, which is not atypical for that area well into autumn.

  11. I am so annoyed with the play calling by the Pats offense. Dolphins actually have a decent run defense and the Pats are not even attempting to pass and Pats defense is playing weak zone in the secondary or playing off man when they are better at press man

      1. Chism and Williams, have shown they can play, they are just not being utilized as they should be. Chism should be used as an edelman/welker type WR and we just saw it this past series of plays with the touchdowns

  12. They now have 28 minutes to figure this out.

Bear in mind, the Packers, Lions, Vikings, Chiefs and Broncos are still on the schedule.

I think they can’t make the playoffs without this particular game ending up in the win column.

I hope they get this game turned around.

  13. Looking at social media today, I still see that a very large percentage of people think that “Daylight ‘Savings’ Time” just started, when in fact “Daylight SAVING Time” just ended. 😉

  14. I don’t know if I’m happier because the Pats have turned things around or depressed that they actually fell behind this particular Dolphins team 13-3. 🙂

Bring this home, would be a helpful and important win.

    1. Agreed 100% earlier I told me wife they should be throwing more to Pop Douglas. This is more like it. Ya think Vrabel may just know how to coach.

      1. Good in the 3rd qtr, but he certainly didn’t have them ready to compete in the 1st half.

And he’s too much like Dan Campbell on every 4th down:

  15. Agreed 100% earlier I told me wife they should be throwing more to Pop Douglas. This is more like it. Ya think Vrabel may just know how to coach.

  16. What 4th quarter comeback for Denver then a goal line stand with the seconds ticking away to send KC home with a loss after looking like they were gonna take it in Denver.

      1. I have no emotional tie to either team. But for fun I pick who I think will win each game each week, then watch the video highlights of all of them. I picked Denver to win this game. My son likes to monitor for Scorigami results (a score that has never happened before). There was one today. The Bengals 43-36 win over the Titans was the first time in NFL history that exact score was a final. No other NFL game has ever ended with a 43-36 final score. 🙂

      2. Likewise as I can’t stand them , however they took me out of the lead in my office pool by loosing .

  17. Patriots win good, but man is it infuriating how they constantly make things difficult for themselves.
    1. Play calling, they are so conservative, when they opened it up in the 3rd quarter they started to move. they need to get out of the habit of just running the ball on early downs. They are nearly 70% at running on 1st down.
    2. This is the same referee crew that got flexed out of sunday night because of how bad they are and it showed up again today. they need to split this referee group up or make a new one because they are awful. 3. Patriots need to get another WR, the Wrs where good today but Injuries are hurting them. 4. they need to do what they do well on defense, stop with the off person man and zone so much especially at the end of halves. They have some of the best cover corners and safetys in the nfl freaking use them.

    1. My friend who flys private jets she said one of the number one things she pays attention to is icing. Its next to fire in terms of her fears flying

  18. I work on Wordle when it comes out at midnight. Every night. I started falling asleep at 10:30 tonight and couldn’t figure out why until I remembered (pardon me while I yawn) that we had this silly old time change. We may have gained an hour. But at this point in time, it doesn’t feel much like it.
