The Week Ahead

6:55PM

High pressure dominates for the Columbus Day holiday with fair and mild weather. A weakening disturbance from the west will bring some cloudiness later Monday night into early Tuesday before high pressure re-establishes itself with nice weather later Tuesday into Wednesday. A cold front may bring a few showers to the region Thursday. At the end of the week it appears we’ll be in a westerly flow with mostly dry weather, some clouds from time to time, and a trend to cooler weather, though there is some uncertainty due to medium range model disagreement. Fine-tuning will be done as it gets closer.

Forecast for southeastern New England (southern NH, eastern MA, and RI)…

  1. Thanks TK. Darn I’m hoping for a rainfree day this weekend. Because of illness we have yet to get together for our yearly memorial for my mom.

  2. Thanks tk, I will only say 1 thing, this team has more heart than any team in the 30 yrs of following this football team, woooohooooo!! 5-1 temp is 52 degrees!!!! Love it!!!!!!!

  3. I so not think this old body can take any more stress and hope the Red Sox game is much less stressful.

  4. Thanks TK.
Thrilling win for the Patriots. I had a feeling when Brady got the ball back they were going to win. I have seen that movie too many times. I am hoping for a Cowboys win to keep even with the Eagles in the NFC East.

  5. Hadi it should be a great game. May the best team win!
I saw the answer on the previous blog with two for the World Series and in 2009 the Rockies did not play the Phillies in the World Series. It was the Yankees Phillies.

  6. The Pats need to get past some of these injuries. It seems never-ending. There were a couple tonight, and the Gronk thing seems to never end with accustaions being thrown around about his actual treatment.

TK, just an observation … noticed you have a high of 65 on Thurs. Many a TV-met have at 70 or higher. I am thinking they are a little high in their forecast.

  7. I am completely Speechless! WOW!

On another note: Just had a new washer delivered. (Of course I broke the old one by placing a gigantic load of towels in with the water level set to LOW!!!)

NOW the hot hose connector was corroded and would NOT come off. Now my FREE installation is going to cost big $$$!!! Plumber on the way! Go FIGURE. I can’t win for nothing.

    What a lovely Holiday!

At lease our sports teams had a good night.

      1. Hmmmm I think north said that. And why is it that when one thing goes wrong in a house something else seems to go wrong also. My Advice is Get an extended warranty on that washer. I never believed in them. My new washer had the drum bearings go when just over a year old. It would have been more expensive than the washer of I hadnt had a warranty. Know what the reason was? The bearings sometimes go bad in certain types of water. Yep…water. ITS A WASHING MACHINE…..

  8. Frosty morning here. I had to scrape my windshield. 34 degrees when i got in the car at 7am. Felt like winter!

    1. My SIL is working and didnt have a scraper so used his sons sandbox shovel :)). Mac had a 9:00 tee time. Brrrrrr

  9. nice day to be a boston sports fan. Both teams got lucky as both were real close to a loss. Red sox facing some of the best pitching they have seen all season and tomorrow detroits best pitcher is on the mound.

      1. Listen Charlie, knock your crap off now. Yes lucky. Sox had not scored and game was close to over. Brady throws an interception, receivers dropping balls all at the end of the game. They got another shot and got lucky. I love both teams and again they got lucky to win. Why do you say c’mon to everything we say weather or sports. Again Charles lucky, lucky and more lucky.

  10. exciting patriots and red sox games. More to look forward to, but there are some things on the weather models that are also starting to kick up as well euro is showing 850mb temps going below 0 in southern new england and -5 in northern new england. Its a ways out at 216 but still cool to see it .http://www.instantweathermaps.com/ECMWF-php/showmap-ecmwf.php?run=2013101400&region=USA&var=TMP_850mb&hour=216
Also very far out and yes the gfs long range. but has had a storm out at see and now basically over us. giving northern new england their first wintery precipitation.

yes im enjoying the fact that im now able to finally look at the weather models again after about a month of non stop barage of chemistry and math homework.,yes i know its far out but still a good fantasy lol.

  11. Making a few adjustments to the forecast. That’s why I said “low confidence” yesterday. Nothing big, just timing of systems mainly.

    Working on an update now.

  12. Another camping season ends. :(. But, it was very nice on Cape Cod.

But, wholly smokes, did it radiate last night. I think it was under 40F this morning at sunrise. Now, 63F in the house feels downright tropical.

    1. First frost on my windshield this morning. I have had frost in the yard previously but not on the car.
