  1. Hey TK, thanks again for the update! The CPC (fwiw) is still looking very below normal temps for the extended period…what are your thoughts on this?

  2. Philip I noticed that as well as the CPC calling for normal temps in the 6-10 day outlook and below normal in the 8-14 day outlook. Its looks like another round of severe weather coming for parts of the country but for us just like last week I don’t expect anymore than just some rumbles when the cold front gets here. This could change but that is my early call.

  3. Hi Guys- just checking in. so glad It’s Friday, first week back to work was a crazy one.
looking forward to catching up this weekend and talking some weather. JimmyJames I guess my prediction on the sox first win was good ha.

  4. I guess that’s what I get for not posting much this week- comment awaiting moderation, ha,ha. I guess Tks website forgot who I was.

    1. Hi John! I’m not sure why the site is doing that. I’ve had to “re-approve” several people. I thought I had it set to approve once so I’ll have to look into that. Same goes for anyone else. If you get a notice saying that your comment is awaiting moderation, I did not “unapprove” you. Thanks for your patience! 🙂

  5. I think we may be looking at some retrogression, which would back the ridge up into the central US and drop a trough into the Northeast in the 8-14 day period.

  6. I’m sure u all know this, but 75% of severe weather here is June and July, also about 2 more weeks and I will be putting all the plants outside, every year I put them out the last weekend in April, has anybody noticed how all of a sudden everything is green and blossoming, even my lawn is growing and will be mowed next week on Thu, hope everyones having a great day 🙂

  7. Charlie to second that, our severe weather is near non existent compared to many parts of the country. If you have never lived in other parts then you probably have not experienced what real severe weather is.

  8. Hadi I agree with you there and we are so fortunate here in New England we don’t get those strong torandoes they get in the plains and parts of the Midwest. Speaking of tornadoes I think there is POTENTIAL for quite a few with the cold front that will be coming our way. Thankfully that front at the moment does not look to produce severe weather here in New England when it gets here.

  9. Hi, all – hope everyone will be enjoying the nice wknd.

Question – is there another blog people are going to? Seems like in the past few days not many people have been on this blog . . .

    1. Hi Rainshine.

I read read this great blog everyday, just have been spending my free time lately getting back into the start of the baseball season………Beautiful start to the day this morning…….somewhat anxiously watching the long range wx models take on the weather for the week of April 15th thru 23rd, as we will be camping in the mid-Atlantic region.

  10. Rainshine some our coming to this blog but I think because there really is not much to talk about with the weather when you have quite weather like today. When thunderstorms threaten or are happening the blogs will light up but its really when snow threatens is when you have the most comments posted.
Speaking of thunderstorms its looks like another outbreak of severe weather for parts of the country this weekend and early next week. For us I don’t see severe weather but don’t be surprised to hear thunder. So with that I am only giving a 1.

  11. JimmyJames – thanks for the reply. You’re probably right. When storms are around people do check in more. Since I have been on this blog (almost a year) I did notice more people interested in snowstorms rather than thunderstorms, but that’s ok. I prefer tracking thunderstorms than snowstorms but that doesn’t mean I don’t like the snow – up until the end of Feb. that is! 🙂 Somebody did mention at some point a FB blog – finally dawned on me that is Facebook.

Tom – thanks for your reply. It couldn’t have been a better first win for the Red Sox this season last night than against the Yankees! (Apologies to any Yankees fans out there). Hope the weather will be good for you when you go camping. I will be going out soon to enjoy this fine weather.

  12. I like tracking both snowstorms and thunderstorms and if you got to the SPC page there are going to be a number of severe weather reports the next few days.

  13. Chris Lambert over on Ch. 7 is starting to lean towards the “warmer” solution in terms of temps for Monday. Pete Bouchard has been going with very warm temps all week in his forecasts never wavering even once. It will be interesting to see (and feel) what will ultimately happen.

  14. If that warm front does not get hung up and there is enough sunshine I think many places away from the coast have a shot at 80. What a difference form last year when we already had our first 90 degree day on April 7th which to me is too early for 90 degree weather.

    1. Unlike you, I like HHH weather, however I do agree that April 7 is a bit early. I’m not generally a fan of it then, but I do enjoy it for the illustration of anomalous New England weather. 🙂

  15. Correction – I have been on the WBZ weather blog for almost a year – only a few wks. on this blog! I don’t know if anyone noticed – just wanted to clarify that! (Big difference between blogs, I know – grateful to be part of this blog).

Will be interesting to see how warm it does actually get on Mon. Last time I looked at Weather Channel, they were saying showers and in 70’s on Mon. But that was for Maynard area. JimmyJames, I agree. If warm front goes through, we could get near 80 degrees in some spots. And I don’t mind 90 degrees with a nice breeze moving the air around – if it is June, July or Aug. Wouldn’t like to see 90 degrees this early.

    1. This is the place to be rainshine! It’ll just be more quiet at times, not unlike WBZ’s blog. 🙂

Hope you keep visiting and commenting!
