One Upper, Three Over

7:26PM

The rain has exited. A drying process is underway, but will be a little slow in completing. The lower levels will indeed dry out through tonight and into Friday, but one upper low has to rotate across the region during Friday and this will ignite some additional cloudiness and a shower risk from northwest to southeast across the region from late morning through mid afternoon. There is even a low risk of a thunderstorm with small hail, since the air aloft will be cold. There will not be any widespread thunderstorm activity or severe weather, however. By Friday night, this will be on the way out, and then in builds high pressure over the weekend, settling off to the southeast of the region by Monday. This spells out the potential for three days of potential high temperatures over 80 in parts of the region, away from the cooling influence of the ocean. Some cloudiness may spill over the top of an upper level ridge centered west of the region Saturday, but there should be less cloudiness and more dominant sun by Sunday. By Monday, you’ll start to feel some humidity increasing around the back side of high pressure.

Looking ahead into next week a little further, it looks mild and slightly unsettled as some weak weather systems will be in the region Tuesday through Thursday. It will be a little hard to pinpoint the timing and impact of any shower and thunderstorm activity until we are closer to these days.

Updated forecast for southeastern New England…

Highs upper 60s to middle 70s. Wind NW 5-15 MPH.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Clearing. Lows in the 50s. Wind NW 5-15 MPH.

  1. Thanks tk . Looking like the pool may be ready as well. It’s all cleared up, balancing chemicals added, 20 something gallons of liquid chlorine and first numbers came in good.

  2. Thanks TK. Looking as if we can get windows off of porch also. I think 2011 was even later removing them but may have wrong year. Daughter reminded me that June 13 last year was very cold”

Thank you again everyone for your amazing support. Celebratory cocktails on the porch anyone πŸ™‚

  3. Count me in Vicki! Happy to hear your husbands surgery went well. Keep the positive vibes going!

      1. I second that, the sun came out at the end of the day showing that the surgery went well πŸ™‚

    1. Emily and Matt – thank you. Matt, what a wonderful way to look at the sun shining on a successful surgery. I hadn’t even thought of it but as I look back it came out exactly at the time we heard from the doctor all was well.

  4. Thanks TK!

Wish I could have joined you on the porch Vicki! You deserve a cocktail after the long day you had!

  5. Sad day tomorrow for my aunt, her mother past away wednesday. 80 years old and she already had a whole bunch of crap to deal with, as my cousin bobby tries to get custody of His child from the nut case now this on top of it. That poor family just can not get a break πŸ™

    1. Matt my condolences. I know your family is close and this is a very difficult time for all of you.

      1. thanks vicki and John. I barly know the person since its my aunts mom but i have seen and talked to her before and it hurts to see a family member loose her mother or anyone in that matter

    1. That’s a whole lot of wasted gas to attempt something that will be thwarted. They can’t wait a month? LOL

        1. I meant in general. Not you specifically. I don’t know why that many people would waste a day off to catch a glimpse of some humans that are basically no different than anyone else except a lot of people know who they are. πŸ˜‰

If you live down the street and have the time and really wanna do it then hey go for it. πŸ˜›

          1. Huh? There professional athletes, they r not you and me especially now in my 40’s, you should see it in about a month, back over 10 yrs ago they would get maybe 4-5,000 for a practice, they will have 20-25,000 attendees here for practice watching. Go Patriots!! πŸ™‚

            1. Charlie having had one of the greatest as a huge part of my life from the time I was born I can tell you that they are exactly like you and me. The greats do not ask to be put on a pedestal and frankly don’t like it when they are.

            2. And that’s great. I’m a professional weather forecaster, but I don’t hold myself separate from the rest of humanity, and wouldn’t, even if I was “famous” on TV.

I get what you are saying. I understand the mentality and how these people are regarded as gods. I just think that part of it is silly.

If they have 25K watching practice – super. I don’t have an issue with that. It’s a free world. They can watch the practice just like I can forecast snow potentials after February 28. πŸ˜€

              And I agree. Go Patriots!

              1. Lol πŸ™‚ tk, Vicki some of these guys r 6ft 7 inches, can bench over 500lbs and can run a 40yd dash faster than you can probably get out on your deck to enjoy a cloudy day πŸ˜‰ again we r all different, we all have certain talents, but we aren’t nfl players. Go Patriots!!

                1. And every persons talent is as special as the next. NFL players are not any more special than the greatest hitter that ever lived or a civic servant who does his job exceptionally well or a teacher or any other person They are just people…..nothing more. If they think they are more, they have a serious problem. If anyone else thinks they are more, I’d say ditto. Have a wonderful night

                2. Why r u jealous of people that have a talent that in this life make lots of money and tons of attention?

                3. Why do you think they are gods and money and attention define their worth. Either way I think this conversation is over. Here is a suggestion. I won’t respond to you and you won’t respond to me. We will have a 50 yard barrier

                4. Was that too difficult for you to understand. Just do not reply to me…..problem solved

                5. Vicki I don’t think they r gods, but they r professional nfl players, that make millions of dollars in a business that makes lots of money. They get lots of attention bc well that’s just what happens in this life we have. I do not think there gods, but I am a very involved Patriots fan, I have been a fanatical Patriot fan since 85, there’s a difference,,,, I think πŸ˜‰

  6. Good morning. What a nice feeling start to the day. Coolish, refreshing breeze with mostly cloudy sky. 60.9 here.

  7. mostly sunny skies today and also sunny this weekend with 70s and 80s. Parents are going up to new hampshire this weekend which means its only my brothers and me :D… Its going to be a great weekend

  8. I’m sitting on the train stopped for last 25 min’s, they say it’s a freight train? R they serious?

  9. Wow. The pollen is amazing. I was on the deck but the table I just cleared got covered in a matter of minutes. Regardless, it is a beautiful night.

    1. alot of pollen washed onto the solar cover
water (rain water) literally a greenish yellow color

      1. I don’t have a cover . Anyways got the water tested tonight and they said its perfect. Pool is officially open.

          1. temperature currently at 73 degrees. solar cover keeps the heat of the pool in at cool nights and heats the pool in the day when we are not using it. It also keep stuff from falling into the pool

          2. Sorry. I meant it seems late for this much pollen. I always wait until pollen is over…mostly…to take windows off porch and that is always by Memorial Day.

            1. marshland acts like its a freakin ocean, everything is always late but this year its very late

              1. Are there tons of mosquitoes? We have a lot. The dragon flies returned a week ago and are on patrol. I love watching them.

                1. alot of thos pesky mosquito’s , We have a rule no one in the marsh after an hour before sunset. no pool between 7-9 as thats the worst time, wee make it so that the pool is moving we put the jets in a way that makes the water circulate
… we also spray though i hate what spraying does to the enviroment.. Though you can not really do anything with the marsh besides for hoping there is a breeze in the evening that pushes the bugs to the other side of the marsh… Dragon flies get huge around here. We also have bats that eat them.

  10. I know there is no way you will see this, Ace…but here is to long and happy marriage. Salute !!

  11. There will be a full moon next Friday June 13. It is also my oldest grands 7th birthday. Full moon on a Friday the 13th is rare enough that the next one will be 2049. Info compliments of my daughter

      1. He was out of bed for a bit yesterday. He has a roommate after moving from ICU so I don’t want to call yet. πŸ™‚

        1. That is good! Always wish that they could just have private rooms. Tell him to keep up the good work πŸ™‚

  12. Today’s AccuWeather Trivia Quiz.

What unusual weather event took place in New York and Vermont on July 2, 1992?
    A. Earthquake
    B. Tropical Storm
    C. Tornado Outbreak
    D. Frost Outbreak

    Answer later today.

      1. Haha. There is an imaginary ? After my answer also. I think it will be a fun fact to know

  13. What a beautiful day!!! 70.2 here at 9AM. I LIKE that!!!

Last night BB threw out “Showers” for today and tomorrow. He said mainly dry, BUT
that an isolated shower could pop either day. hmm Hedging a bit. Did anyone else
see him last night? He was doing the weatherman shuffle. It was pretty funny.
I love Barry and think he is the best, but he was clearly troubled. It was like he was supposed to forecast this gorgeous weekend, but this one little caveat was gnawing at him. I thought it was Hilarious. But that is just I.

    We shall see.

    1. But then again…Here is this morning’s take from NWS:

OTHER THAN A FEW TO SCATTERED CUMULUS AND PERHAPS SOME THIN HIGH- CLOUDS FILTERING IN ROUND THE LINGERING BROAD CYCLONIC FLOW /MAINLY ACROSS E-NE NEW ENGLAND/ EXPECTING A MOSTLY CLEAR DAY. A WELL-MIXED BOUNDARY LAYER WITH H85 TEMPERATURES HOVERING +10-12C…SHOULD SEE
HIGHS AROUND THE LOW- TO MID-80S ACROSS THE INTERIOR…COOLER ALONG THE SHORES WITH ANTICIPATED SEA-BREEZE.

      1. AND if it means anything at all, the latest HRRR shows
ZERO precipitation ALL over New England today.

So there ya go. NO RAIN! πŸ˜€

    2. A couple models fired stuff up on the seabreeze front, especially tomorrow.

  14. Good morning!! Believe it or not today’s highs of 80-85 degrees are average highs, the averwge high for today is 83 degrees, 77.3 degrees currently

    1. Charlie…the normal high for today (June 7) is 73 degrees and the “highest” normal temp is 83 degrees around late July then very slowly goes back down thereafter.

  15. I’m only going to bring this up once more and from this point on if any messages vanish, you should know why.

Charlie, with all due respect, you may feel like you are joking around above, but it crosses the line I asked not be crossed. Again I’d rather handle this behind the scenes, but I think it’s better handled right here in full view.

You called Vicki jealous of professional athletes. That has to be one of the most childish statements I have ever seen. Seriously, are you in middle school still? My 14 year old son can conduct himself in a public forum in a far more responsible way that you have shown.

Not to speak for Vicki, but I can guarantee you that if she had a choice between being able to bench 500 pounds, run a 40 yard dash in record time, be 6 foot 7, and have huge muscles (with the help of steroids of course in many cases) … and sit on her deck under a clear sky or a cloudy sky, or in a blizzard for that matter … she’d choose the deck every time. And so would most of us. It’s fine that you like the stuff you like – whatever, like you say we’re all different. But just let those differences be what they are and stop using them to bully other people.

I’m not in the practice of deleting people (yet) but I have been lax in deleting messages that shouldn’t be here. I’m just going to get rid of stuff like that from here on.

Calling someone jealous about something that unimportant in the grand scheme? That’s just childish.

    Have a good day.

    1. You’ve got to be kidding tk, on this blog yes tk people would rather sit on the deck before getting paid millions of dollars to bench 500lbs and play in the nfl on steroids or not, suit yourself but I’ll take the millions, then sit on my deck later. Good day tk

Philip I’m sorry I had the wrong info, average highs are 77 degrees πŸ™‚
      http://www.weather.com/weather/wxclimatology/daily/02760

      1. I’m not surprised.

You refer to those of us “on this blog”. What exactly do you mean by that? Clarify please.

    2. Tk everyone jeaulous in some form or another if someone has more, they work hard like we do, they just get paid millions and receive lots of attention for the talent they have, if anyone’s mad or offended by that,, what else could it be than jeaulousy? Maybe there mad bc these guys r put on pedistiles, idk I say good for them, that’s how I see it πŸ™‚

        1. I’m jealous of many things, from my neighbor that still has both of his grandparents alive at 95 yrs old, I don’t, to Tom Brady, at the same time I’m happy of what I do have, tk πŸ™‚

      1. You just don’t get it….You are the one claiming that we (on this blog) are jealous. How about that we are content with our lives…huh? How about that? Would we all like to have more money> Sure we would but I don’t think that anyone else here is jealous of someone who has more money, athletic ability, etc. Like I said we are just content with our lives and strive to the best that we can.

        1. Charlie I don’t think we are jealous, do we admire them for what they have achieved, probably yes, but we all have gone on different paths in our lives and one doesn’t have to be rich and famous to be successful. Success in one’s life doesn’t always come with money and prestige.

You should take time to enjoy life more and not complain so much!

          1. I do agree north and Keith that we strive to do the best and we should be happy for what we have and I do, but I do need to stop complaining, good day north πŸ™‚

        2. “Success is not the measure of a man, but a triumph over those who choose to hold him back”

            1. Not sure why Alisonarod’s posting of Bill Clinton’s post made me think of this quote as it really has nothing do with what we are discussing but it’s from one of my favorite TV series “Band of Brothers” where in the last episode Captain Sobel is walking by Major Winters with his head down and doesn’t salute (he didn’t like Winters). Winters then says ” Captain Soble…We salute the rank not the man”….It has always stuck with me.

  16. TK THANK YOU. You may speak for me anytime as you do it beautifully. I agree and I will not go into jealousy as it is foolish. I would not trade a thing for the life I have….other than what is very obvious as of the past month. Charlie, I danced among the rich and famous a good portion of my life and you are so very wrong about them. And my SIL can bench as much as the QBs and safeties his size and more than kickers…..he read this thread and wonders where his millions are …. πŸ˜†

    1. They have walk ons every year in July, he should go down and try out, I can bench 315lbs for 6 times, which in the nfl is weak, but I can’t move as quick or throw the ball as accurate so I wouldn’t make the team πŸ™‚

      1. Charlie. Let’s toss out the olive branch and start fresh. SIL benches 325. He was a personal trainer before he finished college and moved on. But says nfl players typically bench at 225 10-30 reps although a few have done twice that. SIL does 225 minimum of 20 reps. Son lags behind that but not by much. SIL also said that is not unusual at most gyms.

Moving to weather which is the blog of course and we stray although I like to learn these things, it is still 81 and a spectacular night. Nice just talking to you and I mean that

Oh and to a sport I can identify with, the Belmont post time is 6:52 (I think)

        1. Correct wilfork in the early 2000’s during wilforks draft, he benched 225 for 27 times πŸ™‚

      1. I am hoping for a triple crown but wicked strong is a contender. Chrome is a beautiful animal but they all are. He has such heart. I like his story….its my kind of story.

  17. Boston Harbor Buoy temp at 3:50pm (16 nautical miles out)

    63.5F. !!

If we have any kind of normal summer, with those anomolies sitting south of us, I think we may see some amazing readings late July, early August.

    I think 72, 73F is what I’ve seen out there tops ……. perhaps mid-upper 70s is acheivable ?

  18. I have updated the blog.
    Watching the Belmont now.
I really hope to see a triple crown win.
I have a strange feeling about Wicked Strong and Medal Count.
    We shall see…

Long range forecast for summer coming tomorrow!
