Take The Good With The Good

5:41PM

No doubt about it. It’s a great June weather pattern now. High pressure dominates through Tuesday, sinking north to south across the northeastern US and eventually landing in the western Atlantic, south of the region, by early next week. This means fair weather, starting mild and dry (cool at night), then trending warmer with an increase in humidity. A cold front is expected to amble through the region around the middle of next week with a shower/thunderstorm threat later Wednesday into Thursday, with dry weather returning for the end of next week.

Don’t forget! Summer Solstice occurs at 6:51AM Saturday!

Updated forecast for southeastern New England…

TONIGHT: High cloudiness at times especially west and southwest sky. Lows in the 50s. Wind NW 5-15 MPH.

SATURDAY: Lots of sun, but filtered by high clouds at times. Highs in the 70s. Wind NW 5-15 MPH.

SATURDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy. Lows in the 50s. Wind light NW.

SUNDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 75-80. Wind W 5-15 MPH.

MONDAY: Sunny. Low 60. High 81.

TUESDAY: Mostly sunny. Low 64. High 82.

WEDNESDAY: Partly sunny. Late shower or t-storm? Low 66. High 85.

THURSDAY: Variably cloudy. Chance of showers/t-storms. Low 68. High 82.

FRIDAY: Partly cloudy. Low 62. High 82.

  1. I believe I am first! Thanks TK. πŸ™‚

Tomorrow is the earliest sunrise (5:07 am) and the latest sunset (8:25 pm) then it is all “downhill” from here, LOL. πŸ˜€

Not to worry though, we still have aways to go in terms of reaching the highest average high temp (83) later in July. πŸ™‚

  2. Thanks TK. I’m second. You know what they say about saving the best…..hehehe. Just kissing. What an evening

      1. Hi John – not sure when he will come home. Talked to him this am and he has a low grade fever which of course has me very concerned.

  3. Thanks tk πŸ™‚ average high for tommorrow is 81 degrees, looks like will be close to that over the next week, summer officially tommorrow, but I’ve been in summer mode since Early May πŸ™‚ goodnight

  4. I’m hoping all these great Saturdays we have been having will extend into the big. 4th of July weekend. First pool party July 5th.

  5. Thanks TK.
Happy First Day of Summer. I would say this maybe one of the best weekends of the summer season with nice temps and comfortable levels of humidity.

  6. I don’t mind some nice dry air but I’m more a fan of dewpoints of 60+ once we get to this point. πŸ™‚

    1. Of course there will be big boomers around. I am going up to Hampton Beach on that evening. πŸ™‚

    2. JJ that is a set up for something, but not necessarily severe.
BUT, it needs to be watched, especially IF the timing is just right.

      1. Euro does NOT have impressive parameters, however, CMC
had similar or even more potent parameters than the
        GFS. We’ll continue to watch.

Last time, they diminished with time. This time they’ll probably
        increase with time. πŸ˜€

            1. Click on the middle link he has there. All HABYHINTS.

Everything you want to know about weather is there.

  7. 65.3 at this hour. Was down right CHILLY last night.

    1. Here’s a few chilly lows ….

      Nashua, NH : 47F

      Taunton : 45F

Martha’s Vineyard : 41F. They must have this ob station in the center of the island.

  8. I would say looking at the latest run on some of the models for Wednesday there is enough CAPE and Lift for a few strong storms. Severe storms to early to tell. Plenty of time to watch this and lets see what the models are showing Tuesday and on Wednesday.

  9. What a BEAUTIFUL day! You know what is perfect on a day like this? The feeling and the smell of a hose sprinkling on dirt/cement. Splashing on flip flops. Walking on patches of sunshine, and then sitting in the shade. πŸ™‚ Oh, and iced coffee.

  10. I don’t mind these cold nights one in awhile for this summer maybe just not to much. Hoping for a good summer weather wise and random tempatures that can please everyone .

  13. The EURO …… what to do with this model ……

2 days ago, predicting for June 30th …. Shows a ridge and has it hot, 20c at 850mb.

Yesterday, for that same exact time period, has a big upper low in eastern Canada that sends the jet stream south of New England, has summer polar air over us on June 30th, highs in the 70s.

Today, back to a huge ridge, temps back to 15-20C at 850mb from June 30-July 2nd.

    Undo the upgrade ! πŸ™‚

  14. C. For the first trivia question and A for the second trivia question.
Hope everyone is enjoying the first weekend of summer. I must say walking out first thing yesterday morning it felt more like the first day of fall than summer. Of course I am not complaining about that. It will feel like summer and humidity will come up for early mid week period. Still keeping an eye on Thunderstorm POTENTIAL for Wednesday. It look more like heavy rain will be the bigger deal with the front than a severe weather outbreak although would not rule out a few non severe storms since there is just enough Convective Available Potential Energy. Here are the latest 6z GFS CAPE and Lift Index Values.

  15. Buongiorno tutti! (Good morning everyone!)

Back from the honeymoon in Italy. Wife and i are both sick with bad colds but had an awesome time! Weather was very changeable, first week was low to mid 90s followed by a couple days of thunderstorms and then 60s cloudy and rainy the last day. Hope i didnt miss too much here. Ciao! πŸ™‚

    1. Betornatoa…….mac told me the Italian for welcome back but I spelled phonetically.

In English…..welcome back you old married man ;). We missed you and I’m so happy to hear you had an awesome honeymoon but sorry to hear you don’t feel well. You missed nothing here……not a much as a tiny storm in this area anyway. Will you be putting pictures on FB?

      1. Pictures will be up on facebook soon. We just got the pictures of the wedding from the photographer so some of those pics will be up as well πŸ˜€

    1. Ugh. This is beginning to remind me too much of winter when things just went poof far too often.

    2. Hardy ha ha ha!!!!

      Model shenannigans!!!

Totally and completely nonexistent with 12Z run!!!!

  16. I just looked at the models for the first time in a long time and I do not see all that much activity in the middle of this week.

    1. I don’t see much happening. Perhaps a few garden variety T-Storms with
a little stronger storm or 2 in far Western sections.

  17. I know we are not in any serious drought, but the lawns need a little water within the next few days, or whoever isn’t on a normal watering schedule, the lawn will begin to go dormant/tan. All we need is a quarter to half inch of rain this week to keep them relatively green. Good day all!!

    1. We may get that quarter to half inch of rain come Wednesday with the typical pm thunder storms.

  18. Welcome back Ace! Glad that you had a good time. πŸ™‚

The two of you probably got sick between the roller-coaster temps and the flight back with all the germs so prevelent on airplanes these days. Get well soon! πŸ™‚

My mother caught a bad cold on her honeymoon and she and my father returned early.

    1. Thanks Philip! Yea we tried to take precautions on the plane and trains but it was inevitable we would get sick. Taking today to rest up. It was well worth it though πŸ™‚ Glad to be back!

  19. Ummm

Sorry ALL, BUT IT’S FREAKIN FREEZING OUT!!!!

72.5 degrees in the middle of the afternoon on June 22nd. Sorry that just doesn’t cut it.
