Turning Up The Heat, Briefly…

11:47PM

A strong ridge of high pressure, like mid summer, will bring a blast of heat and humidity to the region during the next couple of days. A cold front will slice through this air mass late Thursday, setting off some thunderstorms, before ushering in cooler and less humid air by Friday. The weekend will see the cooling trend continue, but low pressure moving into the region is expected to bring us wet weather for the 2nd half of the weekend.

Detailed forecast for the Boston area…

WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny. Increasingly hazy and humid. High 88 to 93. Wind SW up to 10 mph.

  1. I think with such high temps there will be a little bit more severe tstorms than we anticipate, this kind of weather is why I moved outa the south, can u just imagine being close to a 100 degrees every single day for the next 3-4 months ugh!!!!

    1. We wont see widespread severe storms as it will be too warm aloft. These storms tomorrow could put down locally torrential rain, however.

      1. I do agree that a widespread outbreak us not in the cards but I do believe a cap will limit severity but I do expect isolated severe weather across the area and I think alot of people get wet due to tropical downpours

  2. How far out in the harbor is the Boston Harbor buoy ? Its air temp and water temp are both 60F (as of 1pm today)….the ocean is warming up, especially with the light onshore flow. A whale watching tour or deep sea fishing adventure surely would be a cooling treat the next 2 days.
