    Cool today and cooler tomorrow.

Frost warnings all over the state starting at 1 AM.

The average date in Boston for hitting 32 degrees for the 1st time in the fall/winter is Nov 4th.

Drove north yesterday through a few bands of light showers. Saw a rainbow. What’s more the fall colors are truly spectacular. I’d say the prettiest part of the drive was near the MA/NH border where different shades of reds, oranges, and yellows literally distracted me. It’s like the trees were saying, “look at me.” It’s past peak in east-central Vermont, but still nice. Chilly here, however. Hard freeze coming in these parts – I think some towns and hamlets could see as low as 23F, which is in record territory. My guess is Boston gets close to 32F but no cigar; 36F tonight, 33F tomorrow night. Almost all places away from the coast – as close as 3 miles from the coast – will get frost by Monday morning, north of, say Charlie’s house.

Beautiful fall morning. 45. Joshua the leaves here are dull compared to southwest of here. We also have much more green. I was amazed at the difference as we drove from framingham to Uxbridge.

Anyone awakened T 2ish this am from the Amber alert? I think at least six devices in this house screeched at us.

Yes, but Amber Alert is over. They got caught.

Yes it is. I should have said that. I’m hearing conflicting reports. One a BPD found them and another that they were in childrens hosp all along.

    2. Thank you. Answering C and B to the quiz

      In Rockland, Maine this weekend.
Mid – Coast Maine foliage seems to me to be in mid-stage and is impressive.
Looking over the foliage at gorgeous West Penobscot Bay as I type.

  2. Good morning and thank you TK.

I got up about 8:30 and it was already 46 here.

How low did Logan go? Did it even crack 40?

NOPE 45 earlier this morning. he he he he

Chances of Logan hitting 32 tonight or tomorrow night??? Hmmm I was going to say
nill. I’ll change that to 25%. I don’t think it does. Here in JP. YUP for sure.

Latest Buoy temperatures: 56.3 and 57.0

    1. I’ve been up there, 1st there’s nothing there, 2nd the weather is totally different there in a daily basis throughout the entire year. 🙂

  3. for the question above i believe its A and then C.

I have two band shows one in billerica one in wake field.

    1. Only? That was colder than I had forecast.
The coldest nights will be tonight and Sunday night. 🙂

  4. Anyone seen the Martian yet?

Trying to convince my wife to see it tonight.
She normally would not see this type of movie, but feels this is
different, plus she likes Matt Damon.

Problem is with all of the mass shootings, she doesn’t feel comfortable
stepping into a movie theater, so we shall see.

    1. I read your first sentence and looked out the window 🙂

We cannot go to a theater because of Mac’s immune system but I do not blame your wife.

  5. Today I offer you a couple of contrasts…

One is this story, which is BRILLIANT in its contrast to reality. It’s not weather-related, but you know I don’t go off-topic too often. A few of you may have seen this floating around. If not, enjoy:

    http://boston.cbslocal.com/2015/10/17/humbled-and-humiliated-tom-brady-to-make-season-debut-after-serving-shameful-deflategate-suspension/#.ViJqwnLE-SN.facebook

There other is a contrast in that above the devastation caused by heavy rain on parched Earth in California is an amazing beauty in the system that resulted in the rain. This photo was taken by Emily’s brother on a flight over California this morning:

    1. Awesome picture and very fun read. Although, I’m not letting myself get pulled into the revenge thing. It isn’t what the pats do and they set an example I like to see fans follow. That said, it will be quite exciting to see Brady back on the field this week…..finally.

      1. Weel, I’m all for it.

I want Brady to throw 10 TD passes tomorrow enroute
        to a 70-0 trouncing. Yes, I don’t want much do I?

        Go Pats!!!

      2. No they haven’t been trying to run up the score. Lol!! This sport is the most emotional game in all of sports. 🙂

    1. My gut tells me that is what many of our snow events will look like this season. Light, pasty but picturesque.

        1. I love a good snowstorm. Especially earlier in the season rather than later. After last winter I’ll take a winter like picture above.

    1. IF the wind drops off those dew points are “potential” low temperatures
or thereabouts. Not gonna happen in the City.

    1. You have an in? Or is this just your expert prognostication?

I do agree, however, that 35 sounds like a reasonable number at this
point. I’m thinking 29 or 30 at my house. We shall see.

Norwood airport “could” crack 20, depending on the Wind and dew point tonight. If it goes to calm, the bottom will drop out.

  6. 12Z NAM keeps 32 Well West of the City both tonight and tomorrow night.
GFS brings 32 line to the coast tomorrow night. Go Figure
    Ditto CMC

  7. I’m thankful it’s a short 2 day cold period. We are not ready for cold weather, my wife just said to her brother on the phone in Charleston SC the trees are losing there leaves, “the trees were bare 5 months ago!!!” Ugh at least next week looks consistently milder with not to much cold air around. We are praying for a mild winter. 🙂

        1. I cannot get front light to work. Family is laughing hysterically because I am distressed. Have to go sit outside

  8. 47.3 here. We’re headed out in a bit.
Going to see My Favorite Martian….Err The Martian.
Trailer looks TOTALLY AWESOME, which means it will probably suck.
    hope not!

  9. Just talking to a professional bartender in Boston, and he said him and his wife are now seasonal bartenders, he’s the best around!!!! Key west in winter, here in the summer. Very smart!! 🙂

    1. For him perhaps. Bars in winter in boston are grsat with the college kids here

Charlie did u see my question about where family lives in charleston ?

  10. Did anyone see my blog? It got away. I had it on radar but it looks like it weakened. 😛

    1. he he he

Blob of yellow just blew through here.

      Temp dropped precipitously to 46. 😆 😆

      Street and sidewalk just dump.

Is this radar souped up in some way? Does not reflect what is coming
      out of the clouds. 😀

      1. Not sure what’s up with radar. A shower of mixed rain/snow just went through Bedford and missed me by a couple miles.

            1. I sometimes see the radar like this one nights where the days was fairly mild (today wasn’t too bad) and then the night drops fairly quickly. Usually I look for this as an indication of what we dxer’s call “tropo enhancement” (as opposed to ducting). Usually when I see this then FM conditions are somewhat elevated in terms of distance. That’s happening tonight as CT FM stations as well as 90.7 WFUV from NYC are weakly in at times.

                1. Weather came first. Then Radio 🙂 Started drawing weather maps when I was in elementary school. I had police radios and shortwave radios (all portables) when I was a young teenager. Then I lost interest in both for a while then got back into weather in my late 20s and then radio again in my late 30s

  11. I have an even 40…I’ll see you and raise? Oh who am I kidding. I don’t play poker.

    Three clubs 🙂

  12. Other reports of snow/mix coming in. Someone just posted from north central MA with a covering of snow pellets on their deck.

Our buddy Scott up in VT has experienced measurable snow this evening of about 0.7 inch. Just saw a photo of covered cars.

  13. Finally, I’m able to get on the internet without being kicked off every 10 seconds! Discontinued VZ “enhanced” dsl (a joke compared to my new speed of over 155 mbps w/ RCN). Never mind the fact that I’ll save over $100 a month for 3 years by going with a triple play! Other than a few insignificant glitch’s that were corrected right away, I’m happy with new service!
