Sunday Forecast

8:23AM

Welcome to the cheap edition of my blog today – basically a copy of yesterday’s with yesterday’s forecast eliminated, Thursday’s forecast added, and a few tweaks made elsewhere. Perhaps it’s poor advertising to admit that, but I’m about the truth, and the weather pattern is just that quiet. 🙂

DAYS 1-5 (DECEMBER 6-10)…
High pressure dominates through Monday with fair and mild weather. Low pressure to the south of the region is expected to be close enough for cloudiness and perhaps a little wet weather near the South Coast Tuesday but not close enough for widepsread wet weather. We’ll be in between systems Wednesday and then another disturbance may cause a few rain showers around on Thursday as it remains mild.
TODAY: Sunny. Highs 55-62. Wind light SW.
TONIGHT: Mostly clear. Areas of frost. Lows 25-30 interior valleys, 30s elsewhere. Wind light SW.
MONDAY: Partly sunny. Lows in the 30s. Highs in the 50s.
TUESDAY: Mostly cloudy. Chance of a light rain for a while mainly South Coast / Cape Cod. Lows in the 30s. Highs in the 40s.
WEDNESDAY: Variably cloudy. Lows in the 30s. Highs in the 40s.
THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy. Possible rain showers. Lows in the 30s. Highs 45-55.

DAYS 6-10 (DECEMBER 11-15)…
Generally rain-free, probably not cloud-free, but mild to very mild December 11-12. Continued mild and an increasing chance of rain showers December 13-14. Current timing suggest drier and cooler December 15.

DAYS 11-15 (DECEMBER 16-20)…
One or two weak systems may bring a few rain or snow showers depending on timing, otherwise a continuation of the dry and mild pattern will go on. May turn colder very end of period.

  1. I don’t know if it’s crossed the mark already this year, but currently, Logan is very close to the – 10 inch precip deficit for the year.

  2. If we don’t receive normal precipitation this upcoming winter it will probably be a very warm to hot spring and summer. SST temps still way above normal especially off the south coastal waters.

  3. Thanks tk 🙂

Looks like we could very well be around 60 degrees again in the 5-7 day period. Absolutely beautiful December day!! Go Patriots!!!

    1. I’m worried about the Pats today, at least on offense. At some point, these injuries have to catch up. Hopefully the D can score some points.

  4. A sign of how warm it’s been aloft the first week of December, the summit of Mt Washington has a temp anomaly of +16.3F.

      1. Yes, can’t be good for them.

Last year, I’m sure they had deep bases with all that February cold, but didn’t the northern areas miss out on a large portion of the snowstorms ?

          1. Sadly they have had far more not good years in the past decade or more than good years. Far different from when I was younger.

  5. Tk how much about average are Sst’s? I just saw that it is 50 degree off the nh/mass border, 52 degrees east of Boston, and 55 degrees just south of Ri. Thank you!! 🙂

  6. Today’s 1st Accuweather Trivia Quiz.

A katabatic wind flows in what direction?

    A. Uphill
    B. Around a bay
    C. Downslope
    D. Through a valley

    Answer after the game.

  7. Today’s 2nd AccuWeather Trivia Quiz.

Chester holds or shares the records for both the highest and lowest temperatures ever in Massachusetts. What are they?

    A. 107 and -35 degrees
    B. 109 and -41 degrees
    C. 105 and -45 degrees
    D. 103 and -20 degrees.

    Answers after the game.

  8. Belichick is a great coach, but he sometimes lets his arrogance get the best of him. Up 14-0, one shouldn’t try any tricks. [Remember 4th and 2 at their own 30 against the Colts, and they went for it …] The Pats have just given momentum to the Eagles. Dumb.

    1. Ugly, indeed. But, I blame Belichick in part for giving away momentum. It’s perhaps his one weakness, but it’s reared its ugly head at times.

  9. The team that the Pats are fielding would not be 10-1, they might be 6-5 or even worse.

If they win this game, it will be a bonus.

I hope Gronk is back next week …..

    1. I listened to one of the sports talk radio stations today. One person kept saying this game was not a given. The others basically told him he was nuts. All I could think was there is never a sure thing and teams other than pats can be very hungry

Brady also needs to get that pout gone. Three games now

Be sure I am not saying they will lose and if they do, then they do. But our guys do not quit. Just making two, points. The first the more important.

      1. In one game:

        – Blocked punt 6

        – 83 yard punt return for a touchdown

        – 100 yard pick 6

These things happen to the Detroit Lions or, say, the Patriots in 1991, not to the Patriots in 2015. I am shocked and dismayed. Unbelievable.

        1. Yep

Special teams struggling. Some calls would not be made were it another team. But basically…..ugh. No one to blame.

          1. BTW no excuse re regulars out. That is nonsense. And that is not Pats mindset. This is not a team no matter what we should play like this against.

            1. No excuses whatsoever. All around poor effort and execution or lack thereof. Sure, injuries play a role, but this game was very winnable with better special teams play and without two key interceptions (one was brutal). looking down the road it doesn’t get easier than the Eagles at home. We’ll see how things play out – my guess is 2 and 2. Good enough for a division, yes. But likely no home-field advantage throughout.

                1. I’ll add that the announcers said pats fans were filing out of the stadium a while ago. That is an oxymoron. A fan doesn’t give up and leave. But this is boston 🙂

  10. I give a lot of credit to the Eagles and their coaching stuff. Patriots have nothing but themselves to blame.

  11. Oh well.

Everything that could go wrong, went wrong.

Brady threw TOO MANY ill-advised passes down field. TOO MANY!!
He was just throwing it up there for grabs.

Dumb-ass pass into double coverage for the pick 6!!

    Shit-bum Special teams play.

Ill-advised onside kick after going up 14-0.

And they still could have won, IF the receivers didn’t have the dropsies!!!

    Happy Hands Chandler!
    Lolli-pop Lafell!!
    Missey Martin!

AND even the sure handed Amendola missed a makeable catch.

It was a TEAM LOSS!!! Can’t be pinned on any one individual.

    Next.

  12. special teams lost that game
offense can only do so much
defense did ok but not great.
Pats can have a first round bye when the bronco’s play the bengals.
best case scenerio is that bronco’s loose to steelers, then bronco’s beat the bengals
If not the game in which the bengals and bronco’s play each other, the pats can have the second seed.

    1. sorry to say but the past two officiating crews have stunk. Both with many new members. The lead offical of todays game had a core group that are now not working together. I smell a small thing going on here.
