  1. Good Morning Everyone – I know it’s going to be hot and humid but it’s a lovely summer morning. Does the lovely Saturday weather extend to Jefferson, NH? My daughter and husband are taking our grandson (4) up to Santa’s Village!

  2. Vicki, I hope the weather works out for the Jefferson, NH area on Saturday. Santa’s Village and/or Story Land are two places we’ve been going to over the past several years. Always a fun day !!

I may have to take off for Cape Cod today and see where the journey leads. I have a few ideas in mind. I could also save a few bucks, shutting off the house’s A/C……Have a good day everyone !

    1. Thanks, Tom. I have pictures of my brother and me on Santa’s lap at Santa’s Village back in the day and then of my kids also on Santa’s Lap. I am so glad my grandkids will now enjoy it. I can’t remember if I said I basically grew up skiing in North Conway and Jackson so the area is like home away from home to me – although North Conway sure is different 🙂

  3. Severe Thunderstorm Watch up for parts of SNE until 9:00pm. I am not expecting widespread severe weather but a few isolated severe storms to develop inside the watch box. So Thunderstorm Index is at a 2 for the watch area and a 1 for everyone else.

  4. I was just driving home from a meeting and noticed the leaves on the trees were turned over. Not sure how to describe it. I remembered as a child my dad would always say – “the leaves are turning – we are going to have a storm”

I used to look for the leaves “turning” and it did seem there were always storms due. Has anyone ever heard of that and if so do you know why or if it’s just an old wives tale?

    1. Hi, Vicki – I am not sure, but I think it is because the leaves are turning over to better exposure to any moisture – and that can happen if the leaves are trying to get sun. I also think it is an old wives tale, but maybe there is some truth to it.

Quite an impressive line of storms in Northern NY on doppler radar now – most severe seem to be at the northern edge of the line. Latest discussion on NWS has storms not getting here til later and they think storms may weaken a bit as they move southeast. I hope they do weaken – it’s a real summery day today – hazy, hot and humid. But there is an occasional breeze so it is tolerable – in the shade, anyway!

      1. HI Rainshine – thanks – We are heading out to dinner so I’m also hoping the storms either fizzle or wait until later. It sure is a real summery day – it’s GREAT!

    1. Hi Vicki.

Yes to the beach, no to the Cape. One of our cars has a local beach sticker and I decided to go that route. Got there around 9:30am and left a little after 4pm, a bit sun weary 🙂 Warm, warm water…which I find surprising giving the strong SW wind.

  5. The drizzle, dampness and coolness of even late June seem like it was 3 months ago to me. The last 6 or 7 days of weather have been perfect……Well, it will be interesting to watch the radar the next hour or two. 4th inning currently at Fenway and the Sox are down, so we’ll see if there’s a delay later and whose ahead if and when the storms arrive.

  6. Very dark to the north. The storms to the north seem to have weakened and the storms to the south have gotten stronger. I think Matt Noyes said there was more instability now in Eastern MA

  7. Even though it is getting dark out, I can see the cloud formations. Beautiful – dark with some bright patches. Seems the wind is picking up.

  8. The Severe Thunderstorm Watch has now included Middlesex & Essex Cos. so it will be interesting if Boston gets included shortly. No seabreeze in Boston so weakening not likely unless daytime heating (or lack thereof) gets involved.

    Keep tuned everyone!

  9. Raining and thundering in Sudbury now – and lightning. I am going to close down now – have a safe and good night all!

  10. Lots of lightening but not as much audible thunder in framingham. Still some hanging around temp dropped to a muggy 72
