  1. TK good morning and thank you. I am hoping that some of this will provide at least a little bit of drought relief and for sufferers, keep the pollen count down.

    1. Both will be true. We are in the midst of one of the better spring seasons we’ve had in a while and this will probably continue to be the case with an overall mild temperature departure, fairly regular rainfall, limited flooding, and fire danger which is typical but also kept mainly in check.

In fact, I blew the precipitation forecast for March. It was way above what I had expected. This did not end the drought but put us much closer to doing that. The short term moisture was surplus with the long term deficit shrinking some. I feel this will continue to be the trend overall.

But with all that, we’ll still somehow be told that the weather is bizarre, I’m sure.

  2. Thanks TK. When does our snowfall contest officially end? I believe I win the Logan guess and I would like to “claim my prize”. 😉

        1. Which would still be a hell of a guess!

Just hope we don’t get a May Maddness Snow event. 😀

        2. Link to snow guesses is at bottom of contest page. I think sue was right above number for Boston

  3. The temperature is inching up. Up to 57.4 here in JP. 😀 while it is 51
    at the facata airport.

  4. I saw some talk about MCAS on the other page and have to pitch in. MCAS stands for Massachusetts Child Abuse System. Nothing and I mean Nothing is gained from it unless you get advance in 10th grade math and english in which you get the Abigail Adams scholarship. Other than that it restricts what teachers can teach. The Bio especially makes bio class extremely boring making what would be young scientists go away from it. I hate standardize testing as it just makes students stressed out and does not show the strength of all students. I for one am one of those students who stunk at standardizing tests. I rather right a 10 page paper than do tests.

  5. Nice solid 1st period by the Bruins with the exception of the 3 delay of game penalties. They really need to watch that… 6 times in this series, 3 in today’s first period. They lucked out it didn’t cost them 1 or 2 goals.

  6. Followed by a flat 2nd. One more effort like that and the season will soon be over. But they’re only down by 1 going into the 3rd, so this is well within reach to win in regulation or go to OT. If they are gonna go down, it better be with a fight, not lying on the ice…

  7. 3rd was good. OT? We’ll see…
This could go either way but I have a feeling it won’t be long.

    1. Thanks, JJ. I knew you’d have BDL. Sue came darn close for Boston too. We might have to do individual and overall kudos.

      1. Oh the prize I’d that the winners get to help me set up my weather station….

        Sound fair ???

  8. I was a bit this year for BDL with my 34.8 prediction. I made that prediction for below normal snowfall when 1.5 inches fell in October as there has never been a winter until this past one with measurable snowfall in October leading to above normal snowfall.

    1. I think the general thought was lower than normal. Was a good snow year though. Is it sad I am already missing snowstorms. But then with tonight’s sunset, I am loving what we had.

  9. Finally catching up on the blog. I see I may have a future as a meteorologist after all. 🙂
If only I could make good guesses about lottery numbers!

  10. TK – Were you joking with Vicki about May 14 as the last date of the snowfall contest? I never can tell with you sometimes. 😀

    1. No I meant May 14 at 11:59PM that there is no way it could ever snow again anywhere in New England.

Of course it is a joke. Just a general idea. Since we have several cities, and as SAK mentioned…
