Tuesday Forecast

7:29AM

DAYS 1-5 (MAY 8-12)
Weak high pressure over southern New England and weak low pressure just to the south today and Wednesday. The biggest impact of this set up will be some morning fog today, areas of low clouds at times along the coast, and also cooler air along the coast. Still looking for a cold front to pass by Thursday night and early Friday and settle not too far south of the region Saturday, which may end up somewhat unsettled. Detailed forecast…
TODAY: Areas of fog early to mid morning. Coastal clouds at times, sun otherwise. Highs 60-67, cooler coast. Wind light E to SE.
TONIGHT: Variably cloudy. Patchy fog. Lows 46-53. Wind light variable.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny but some clouds may linger coastal areas especially Cape Cod. Highs 60-67 immediate coast, 68-75 elsewhere. Wind light variable with coastal sea breezes.
THURSDAY: Sunshine, clouds late, risk of showers at night. Lows from the lower to middle 50s. Highs from the lower 60s South Coast to upper 60s to lower 70s elsewhere.
FRIDAY: Early clouds and possibly a shower then more sun and breezy. Lows from the middle to upper 50s. Highs in the 60s.
SATURDAY: Variably cloudy. Risk of showers. Lows from the upper 40s to middle 50s. Highs in the 60s.

DAYS 6-10 (MAY 13-17)
Still some uncertainly about the weather for May 13 but leaning toward clouds and possible damp weather with a brief warm up following this for May 14 then more seasonably mild weather interior and cooler weather coast for the middle of next week and mostly fair conditions. However always must watch this pattern for low clouds in coastal areas at this time of year. This continues to be a low confidence forecast.

DAYS 11-15 (MAY 18-22)
Still watching for the possibility of an omega block to set up which could put the region into several days of unsettled weather. This is also low confidence and not unusual for trying to look ahead and upcoming weather in the spring.

  1. Good morning and thank you TK.

Went out to the car to a partly cloudy sky with low clouds drifting in the from East.
Temp was 52 at 8AM. Very nice morning, but I sense it will be sea breezy again.

  2. Hey everyone,

BTW, bright and sunny here at the office. 😀

62 at the ole homestead in JP.

          1. Totally and completely AGREE!!!

            Brutal!!!!!

Well the ocean temp is 48, so there you go.

            1. Mostly, I’m just having fun with overachieving…..there might be a bit of snark mixed in. However, my numbers are accurate.

  3. Overachieving temps on a sunny day in a dry air mass near our peak sun angle of the year? Color me shocked 😉

Even as we head into full leaf-out, always, always think higher on temperatures on days like this. The models don’t get it and maybe never will.

      1. 74 up here in Plymouth, NH as well. I love days like this. It’s amazing how much different this 74 feels versus a 74 when the dew point is 70.

  4. Great day here on Siesta Key Beach Sarasota 88°dp54°. Really dry air for this time of year down here.

    1. Very nice. My business associate and his wife enjoy Siesta Key.

According to my sister in law, Atlanta has had quite a cool spring but it is now lovely and also not humid….or it was when I spoke to her last.

      Enjoy

      1. Thanks again gonna move here permanently I’m about a year. Going back to RI on Thursday.

  5. Ran an errand at lunch here in Plymouth and the car thermometer was reading 58 degrees. I know they are not the most accurate tools but definitely a bit cool on the coast.

    1. Oh and my car thermometer seems to run right in line with my thermometer. It is afraid of me so wouldn’t do anything less 😉

  6. Reading 68 at home. Car was reading 67 on the way back to work at 1:15 and then
dropped to 65 near the office.
54 at the airport as of 2PM.

One can feel the chill of the ocean, but it is still very nice out just back
from the coast. I can’t imagine being right at the shore line.

  7. A lot of TV media are talking about “much above normal temperatures” next week. I don’t agree. I think we’re putting high pressure back in eastern Canada and you know what that means.

    1. More FACATA East wind! An annual Spring Ritual. 😀 😀 😀

      Still,
even with an East wind, as long as it is Sunny, then we are reaching the
time of Spring where it can still be very nice, especially just back from the coast.
Just keep the low clouds, fog and drizzle away.

      1. Big difference between Ocean Temp near 50 now as opposed to
Near 40 the beginning of April.

          Water Temperature (WTMP): 50.5 °F

  8. It was a very nice day, some chill in the shade, but this is great weather to exercise in.
