  1. Thanks tk

Re weather – I actually enjoy some of the chill in the air. Window open a crack – free air conditioner. lol

Re gronk – he worked hard during his short retirement to get CBD use allowed. It has helped him and based on some of the new drug policy language he can likely get away with using it and having a decent unretirement.

    1. lmao could you imagine? I know it will be gone tomorrow from models but if there’s any year where it wouldn’t surprise me to get a storm like that this late it’s this year.

  2. Let’s have this be the first April to do this if were going to have this cooler than normal weather.
    Tweet from Meteorologist Chris Lambert
Strugglefest with the high temps this April. 62 is the max so far in Boston. It’s unlikely we’ll beat that through the end of the month. There’s been no other April on record with a monthly max temp below 66.

  3. Thanks TK.

Sitting at 38 with flakes in the air again today….that makes 4 out of the last 6 days here in the second half of April. And looking at the models this am, it would appear quite possible we have a few more yet to come.

    1. Indeed. the April 29th-30th looks particularly intriguing. Nothing cast in stone, but intriguing none-the-less. Dying to see today’s Euro on this. πŸ™‚

  4. Between communicating with my students on-line about their enrichment work, doing some house work and spending time with my wife and kids, I am trying to stay very busy.

This weather does NOT help me. In fact, its really testing me mentally.

I’d like to think I am doing a good job socially distancing. I do like to still go out in our back yard or out on the deck from time to time. Its so cold, or cool or cloudy or damp or still freekin’ snowing !

This is mentally depressing …… I look at the models the next 2 weeks and want to scream. I hope it changes soon. Is it too much to expect a sunny, 70F day, where you can be outside without a heavy jacket/sweatshirt and be comfortably dressed in springlike attire ….. is it possible for that to occur before the end of April ??

Please mother nature, help us out a little !!

    1. Short answer: NOPE!

To me, since I don’t go out of the house, this is the perfect year for this
crappy Spring. I could care less what it is doing outside. The only time I got
out is to bring out/return the trash and recycling.

      1. The grammar nerd in me wants to say β€œit’s couldn’t care less. If you COULD care less it implies a level of caring.”

        1. Yeah, I suppose. I am usually a real stickler for the
grammar, but this one escaped me.

Will you forgive me ole grand master? πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  5. I should have send interior parts of SNE Sunday night into early morning hours Monday morning.

  6. Thank you, TK.

I’ve never experienced a colder April. Today is not only raw it’s wintry cold. Seriously, we’re 8 weeks away from the solstice, but the sun has little or no power today. Of course, the cloud cover keeps things cool, too. But even when the sun peaks out from hiding it’s not warm.

Mark points out that it’s snowed 4 out of the 6 days in his neck of the woods – wet flakes, to be sure – but that’s incredible. I see flakes in our future, in the interior on Sunday, and then there’s the end of the month surprise.

    1. Oh, gosh. My ex-wife and I had `arguments’ about this. Actually, they weren’t arguments. More, questioning the English language, and our grammar. And, she’s not even American. She’s Dutch.

    2. Most important part of that article:

“If you have need of using it in some other context, and would like to avoid alienating some portion of your audience you should stick with couldn’t care less.”

    1. Isn’t that Frankly, my dear WHW, I don’t give a damn.

Sorry – am a bit snarky today it appears and having fun with this. Being rather fanatical about grammar, I am surprised I do not have any skin in the game.

  7. Despite what I saw recently, and after talking about the pattern with a colleague, this may be one of those very rare years we see flakes in SNE in May. I love today’s winterish feel. I too had a snow shower pass by a bit ago, but nothing like the squalls that coating I-93 just N of the WHW forecast area this morning, resulting in some accidents are careless drivers thinking they can drive at 100 MPH because there is no traffic failed to use common sense and slow down when they saw the road becoming covered. Oftentimes when this happens, the weather gets blamed. The weather, in fact, is not at fault for anything. Ever. It doesn’t make mistakes. People, on the other hand, do, and a lot of them are really stupid ones. So, if someone spun out going 85 MPH on a snowcovered highway, too bad for them. I just hope they didn’t take anyone who had a clue with them. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is my 100% spot on rant for today. πŸ˜‰

I’m actually having a really good day, I just don’t have a high tolerance for lack of common sense. πŸ˜‰

      1. The pattern through about May 10 supports atmospheric set-ups that could bring flakes right into parts of SNE. I’ve seen flakes 3 times in May during my lifetime…

        1977
        1983
        2002

        1. How about some snow in June? I’d love to see that. June 1 and 2 in 2015 were really cold for the time of year. Both days max temps hovered around 49F and it was overcast. But, no flakes.

          1. June 7th 1816 featured flurries. But barring some supervolcano erupting and causing sun cover I wouldn’t anticipate any june snow.

          2. It was far too warm aloft in that situation. The June 2015 chill had to do with very chilly ocean water, anomalous surface cool air, and a dense overcast. It never could have snowed in that. But it was certainly cold as far as June goes!

  8. Happy Birthday to Paul Carrack, lead singer of Ace, a couple stints with the band Squeeze, several albums with Mike & the Mechanics, other collabs, and a fairly prolific solo career. The bday song of the day is the 1974 hit by Ace that re-entered the charts this spring thanks to an Amazon commercial. πŸ™‚
