Drizzle Departs, Dry Weather Starts

11:13PM

The last of the drizzle, low clouds, and fog will slip out quietly in the early hours of Thursday morning. Dry weather will follow for days on end as high pressure dominates. The high centered to the north means that an air flow from the north to northeast will keep temperatures in check during the next few days as sunshine dominates. By Monday, more clouds will dominate as warm air starts moving in above the ground first, eventually reaching the surface early next week.

THURSDAY: Clearing north to south during the morning. Mostly sunny in the afternoon. High from the upper 60s coast to middle 70s well inland. Wind NE 5-15 MPH.

THURSDAY NIGHT: Clear. Low from 50 inland valleys to upper 50s coast. Wind NE under 10 MPH.

  1. Thanks TK. Finally, it looks like some good bug spraying weather! Vicky, I’ve posted some info on lawn insect control over on the gardening page. Hope you find it helpful 🙂

  2. Thanks TK

Dylan on 7 said we are a bit above normal for rain this month but still 6 below for year. Only 3 days in June totally rain free. Most were just a trace.

    1. The low clouds are hanging tough, aren’t they ? However, I think the clearing is making some progress from the northeast (of all directions).

      1. Hi, Tom! Sun recently came out in Sudbury. I know – kinda weird that the clearing came in from northeast – I guess it’s because of the circulation from the storm/front as it moves away.

  3. Yesterday’s forecasts of the rain seriously tapering down shortly after noon and pretty much ending by 2:00 pm was very much off-target. If anything, mid-late afternoon it really packed a punch with downpours that didn’t end for good until near dinnertime. 🙁

TK…what caused the rain to get that final OOMPH before it exited eastern MA?

    1. Looked like a nice little package of vorticity (or a disturbance) came through and helped squeeze out more moisture.

    1. It better snow.. I want a better season than last year. When ever i see snow in october again i will be praying that it does not happen. The snow stunk last year. we got nothin here in billerica besides for a few 4 inch storms . All I know is that i want a hot summer with thunderstorms and a cold and snowy winter with nor-easters. going through the bench mark

  4. Both the GFS and EURO are showing a couple warm to hot, maybe even a HHH day next week. But then we fall back as the rubber band snaps back.
