  1. TK, thanks for update. And if I haven’t said it a while, thanks for all your hard work!

(Noticed that BZ calling for possible rain storms on Thurs afternoon.)

  2. It always seems to amaze me how often the train is late and it always seems to amaze me how they don’t care, and my wife says the guy punches the card in the same place everytime so she’s getting like 5 or 6 extra rides on a 12 day pass, why does our trains and MBta have to be so outdated in every form but ridership is increasing and is at record high levels, my wife says there are 100’s of people standing for 15-20 even the entire ride in, is this dangerous, and now I read how the trains r going to be so busy by the year 2020 college/workers will watch trains just go by whiles hundreds just wait, this outa be lots of fun and embarrassing times ahead

  3. The 0z GFS continues its long range tropical entertainment. Is that Florence its projecting way down the road, the current tropical swirl of no convection and 28 low clouds ?

  4. Thanks TK.
Weather looks to get a little active late week to the start of the weekend. I don’t see all day rains but with the humidity increasing could be some pretty good downpours.

  5. Beautiful morning and thank goodness the humidity is a little lower. Airing the house out before it gets humid again.

  6. *Announcement: Dylan Dreyer is leaving Ch. 7 sometime in September. She mentioned it today on her morning blog. I am somewhat surprised since if I am not mistaken, her fiance works at the station as well behind the camera. 🙁

I do hope that she is replaced with another woman like the other stations. 😉

I wish Dylan the best! 🙂

    1. Also, Dylan is calling for all day rains for both Friday AND Saturday…hope that changes. 🙁 I have lots of “tax-free” shopping to do on Saturday. 🙂

      1. I believe she may be going to the Today show, Philip – my daughter said she thought she had heard that

  7. I don’t buy the all day washout scenario but it will be unsettled late week into the start of the weekend. The biggest threat right now looks to be heavy rainfall but won’t totally rule out strong to possibly severe storms.

  8. Hey Tom, I’ve been watching the GFS lately too and you are right, it continues with the tropical system trend. The 0Z had a monster along the east coast, 6Z lost it completly, and the 12Z now has 2 systems following a similar same path. I wonder how much of that is reality and how much is similar to 10+ days out in winter with the GFS showing a monster storm for a couple days then losing it. The models that far out as in winter must have some component of statistical averages build in to their algorithms (sp?) so it may be picking up on the average tropic system development in that area by middle-end of the Aug.

    1. Probably so……I’m curious to see how many runs this continues for and if these features continue to be shown in the same time period or if they back up so that they continually appear 10 to 14 days out……..

      1. There’s that 10-14 days again. My family has extended an invitation for me to go to your house Tom if I so much as mention the possibilty of a TS or hurricane. Now that’s what your wife might really consider “storm damage”

        1. Hmmmmm…can you use the words typhoon or cyclone ? 🙂 I’m guessing any term that relates to a wind producing ocean storm is a no go, eh ?

We’ll send my youngest daughter over in exchange. Your family will then let you say TS or Hurricane as often as you’d like. 🙂 🙂

          1. Hahahaha. Remember my daughter and family live here that includes a five year old grandson who would love to have someone to play with. And when they are not at the beach my other grands will be there and my 3 yr old grandaughter will be thrilled to have your daughter to playnwith

Hmmmmmm did you say you have a spare room???

  9. *Correction: according to Pete’s blog, Dylan is leaving by the end of this month. In her morning blog, she left the impression that she would be staying on into at least part of September. Maybe I totally misread it. Anyway, I wish she would just announce the exact date and get it over with and not be so cyrptic.

Again, I wish Dylan all the best of luck! 🙂

    1. Imthought her blog said she had a month. Will have to reread. I make things up quite often :). Just ask my family!

      1. Pete said she keeps them all awake and focused when they have the storms, etc., and ending up having to stay at the station for days. You are right that they will miss her. I’ll miss her also. I have always enjoyed her forecasts!
