Sunday July 27 2025 Forecast (7:36AM)

DAYS 1-5 (JULY 27-31)

A low pressure area passing to our north sends a warm front through the region this morning and a cold front through later today, but overall it’s just an unsettled day. The more widespread showers move west to east through the region this morning – mostly light to moderate, but there could be an embedded heavier one even with some thunder. Another passing shower or thunderstorm is possible any time after this initial batch, but most of that will be concentrated with the cold front moving through later in the day. So, while there are rain-free times, be prepared for showery weather at times. Not much change to the remainder of the forecast. Monday’s a very warm, humid day as high pressure builds in. There’s not much dry air behind today’s system, in contrast to the nice air mass we had yesterday behind Friday’s cold front. The heat builds more on Tuesday, and a weak cold front may trigger a late-day shower or thunderstorm, but activity looks limited due to “lack of decent parameters”. Fair, warm, slightly less humid weather will be here Wednesday as another high pressure system controls things, before the next disturbance brings unsettled weather back for Thursday. Canadian wildfire smoke thins today, not that you’ll notice much with abundant cloud cover much of the time, but makes a come-back Monday before easing toward midweek.

TODAY: Mostly cloudy with showers likely west to east morning-midday. Embedded thunder is possible, especially southwest of Boston . Clouds can break for sun but an additional shower or thunderstorm possible rest of day. Highs 76-83, coolest South Coast. Dew point 60s. Wind S 5-15 MPH.

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy with a possible shower in the evening. Clearing but patchy ground fog overnight. Lows 61-68. Dew point 60+. Wind W up to 10 MPH.

MONDAY: Smoke-filtered sunshine. Highs 83-90, cooler some coastal areas. Dew point in 60s. Wind variable up to 10 MPH with coastal sea breezes.

MONDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy. Lows 63-70. Dew point 60+. Wind S up to 10 MPH.

TUESDAY: Partly sunny. Late-day showers / thunderstorms possible, mainly western areas. Highs 86-93. Dew point 60s to near 70. Wind SW 5-15 MPH.

TUESDAY NIGHT: Variably cloudy. A shower or thunderstorm possible. Patchy fog. Lows 66-73. Dew point middle 60s to 70. Wind W up to 10 MPH.

WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 82-89. Dew point near 60. Wind NW up to 10 MPH.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Clouds increase. Shower chance overnight. Lows 62-69. Dew point near 60. Wind S up to 10 MPH.

THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy. Chance of showers. Highs 72-79. Dew point 60s. Wind S to variable 5-15 MPH.

DAYS 6-10 (AUGUST 1-5)

High pressure dominates with a dry stretch of weather the first several days of August, starting out cooler than average followed by a warming trend.

DAYS 11-15 (AUGUST 6-10)

Seasonable weather, limited wet weather chances is the general idea, but we will have to keep an eye on a few potential things to bring some unsettled weather to track. Long way out / long time to check them out.

  1. We may have a new four legged family member also. The large pony my granddaughter has been rehabbing is hers once she passes the vet and farrier checks.

  2. Wordle today: 5 for me. Normal opening words were mostly useless, then it became a crap shoot.

    1. Good work, JPD. Those are the toughest ones. Three for me. I’m definitely liking my first two words… for now. A FB friend had only last letter in her first guess. And got the word on her second try. I don’t think I’ve seen as impressive a game in all the time I’ve played.

    2. I’m in the middle with 4.

On the third guess, I had the last three in the right place. I took me a long time to find any word fitting that pattern. At one point I was considering the correct letter for the second spot, but just didn’t see it and moved on to try something else.

      1. Very nice, SClarke. The thought process is a fun part of the game. It’s all a combination of logic and luck of the draw.

        1. You all did well. The 1st and 2nd guesses are oh so important. Miss there and one is in trouble.

  3. Thanks TK
Saw some of that wildfire smoke driving home from Virginia yesterday as I entered NJ.
Looking forward to Friday and next weekend.

    1. Yet activity (going by ACE) is well below normal there. So far, the EPAC has an ACE of 24.0 this season, and the normal to date is 39.5.

  4. Small break in the rain for a short period of time at Fenway but raining again and tarp is still on the field. That being said—some Dodgers came out to warm up during the break and my son got a bunch of autographs including Clayton Kershaw so a good start to what will hopefully be a series win!

  5. Man, we need rain so badly in the Amesbury area. Another opportunity today for us, but barely a drop.

  6. Thanks, TK.

Dave mentioned getting Clayton Kershaw’s autograph. That’s very cool.

  7. Rain has stopped and it is drying up around here.

Temp which had dropped to 68 is back up to near 70. Hope it goes up a little more.

  8. Dewpoints Morehead City North Carolina 82° at least with a basically with a west northwest flow we won’t experience that 110° heat index.

  9. Sox win 4-3 against Dodgers and take the series. Against 3 very tough teams … Cubs, Phillies, and Dodgers all in a row … the Sox went 4-5. I was hoping for 5-4, but good enough!

  10. Not a post I wanted to make, but I knew this time would come.

My mom passed away today, at age 93. She passed away late this morning, peacefully, while sleeping at the rehab she was in. While neither I nor any of my family were present at that time, she did have the wonderful care stuff right there with her.

Knowing this time was not far in the future, my wish and prayer was for when it did come for her to be in no pain and experience the passing peacefully, and this is exactly how it happened, so in that, there is a blessing and solace.

Thank you to everybody who has asked about her and sent well wishes during her health hurdles during these last few years.

She’s back with my dad and my brother Dinny.

I’ll say more soon. If you know me on my social media (Facebook, particularly), I have not posted there yet, but will probably do so by later tomorrow.

I will continue to update the blog daily. Normalcy, for me, is an important part of staying strong in difficult times.

Peace and love to all of you. <3

  11. Oh, TK, I am so sorry. It is a hard time, but I’m grateful along with you that her passing was peaceful. Please take care of yourself in the midst. We’re standing with you.

    1. Thank you. We will be ok. It’s a painful time, but also a time to be thankful for the life she lived and everything good she gave us.

  12. TK – I send peace and love to you and your family.

If maintaining your usual schedule here is what you need and want, that is what you should do. Please do whatever you can to take care of yourself during this difficult time.

  13. Sending you and your family my deepest sympathy and love, TK.

You all will continue to be in my prayers.

  14. TK. With the deepest condolences, I am
Sending peace, love and hugs to you and your family.

  15. So sorry TK, my heart aches for you the family. I know the pain and it’s not easy. Hang in there and please let me know if you need anything.

  16. So sorry TK. She was a strong determined woman from what you told us and is now reunited with your father and brother now, but will always be watching over you and your family.

I just went through something similar with my mother in the spring. She was 89. Both of or mothers lived long lives, and I also think how lucky our children were to have their grandmothers for a good chunk of their lives. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

  17. Tk,

So sorry for the loss of your mother. May God bless you and your family during this time. I will pray for you and your mom.

    Peace
    Tj

  18. So sorry to hear this sad news, TK. Even though we all will be faced with losing a loved one at some time and we think we are well prepared….we aren’t. As we say in our Jewish culture…”May her memory be a blessing.”

  19. TK, my heart is with you and your family. What an amazing life she lived and what an amazing family she created. May she rest in the sweetest of peace.

  20. TK, I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. I know it really hurts but she is in a good place now. You take care of yourself. Sending love and prayers your way.

  21. Sorry TK. It hits different when its your Mom…… God bless her and your family. May she rest in peace.

  22. I have posted today’s update, along with the link to SAK’s ideas on the week ahead.
