Saturday Forecast

9:25AM

DAYS 1-5 (JULY 2-6)…
Broad low pressure in eastern Canada and high pressure to the southwest of New England will create a little squeeze play today with a gusty breeze as the dry air flows in, but it will still be a fairly warm day with sunshine and some eventual passing clouds. High pressure will gain control and continue its dominance for the remainder of the period with great summer weather. Humidity will be low, but will start to be felt by the end of the period, about Wednesday. A word of caution for anyone using outdoor fireworks (hopefully only where they are legal). With the dry ground from the lack of rainfall and a gusty breeze this weekend, the risk of starting fires will be greater than usual, so please use utmost caution if you will be partaking in such activity.
TODAY: Sunshine and passing clouds. Highs from the lower to middle 80s. Wind W 10-20 MPH with gusts as high as 30 MPH.
TONIGHT: A few clouds then clear. Lows from the lower to middle 60s. Wind W 5-15 MPH with gusts as high as 20 MPH.
SUNDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs from the lower to middle 80s. Wind W 5-15 MPH with gusts as high as 20 MPH.
SUNDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear. Lows from the lower to middle 60s. Wind W 5-15 MPH.
MONDAY – INDEPENDENCE DAY: Sunny. Highs in the 80s. Wind W 5-15 MPH.
MONDAY NIGHT: Clear. Lows in the 60s. Wind light W.
TUESDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs from the middle 80s to lower 90s, cooler Cape Cod.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny. Lows in the 60s. Highs from the middle 80s to lower 90s, cooler Cape Cod.

DAYS 6-10 (JULY 7-11)…
Some heat and humidity around for July 7-8 with the threat for some shower and thunderstorm activity, but not sure how this plays out yet. Fair weather expected July 9 but a return of a shower and thunderstorm risk for a portion of July 10 and/or 11 depending on timing of next system.

DAYS 11-15 (JULY 12-16)…
Still looks like overall a warmer than normal pattern and limited thunderstorm chances.

  1. Thank you for the update TK. Much appreciated.

We shall see how the end of the week shakes out. So far Thursday looks excellent
as we head to Harwich. 😀

    We still need rain.

  2. Thanks TK.

We have now already lost 5 minutes to the sunrise (5:12 am) since the summer solstice. Those dark mornings are on the way back. 🙁

    1. You don’t really notice it for over a month after it peaks so it’s really no big deal. It’s early summer. Enjoy!

      1. Nope, double checked. NOT the Euro. Sort of maybe
        part of the GFS.

Perhaps he is using the BB model? Factoring in the dry ground
that the models may not be doing? I dunno.

        But that is HOT!

97 on Thursday heading into a front and T-storms?

        1. The EURO does have however 18 to 20c at 850 mb during that time frame.

I’m guessing with the EURO’s poor sfc temp projections, perhaps it’s calculating a potential max sfc temp from these projected 850 mb temps.

          1. There’s a thought. Who knows. Barry is very good, so I would not totally discount those temperatures. He does know what he is doing, but those are scary numbers.

It was only in the mid 80s yesterday, but with the humidity it nearly knocked my wife for a loop. An AC saved the day. She thought she could get by without it. NOPE it was needed. 2 more going in by the end of this weekend. 😀

            1. Carefully looking at the GFS. It has some scorchingly HOT weather coming up from this Thursday through next Tues/Wed.

              YIKES!

  3. Thanks, TK.

Beautiful day today – a bit breezy. Last night in Sudbury we had some thunder and lightning and rain, briefly heavy around 10:00. It lasted about an hr. or so.

Happy Fourth of July to all!

      1. Hi, North! Hope you and your family are doing well and enjoying the summer. I don’t go on the blog as much – lot of things going on but I do occasionally look at it and post. Especially when there is something exciting going on, like yesterday. 🙂

      1. Mr. Rainshine and me are doing well, thank you! 🙂

I am glad you are happy in your new home. Is the outside environment in your yard, town different from Framingham? More hills? I have never been out that way. You have to get that southwest window, if I am correct what you posted earlier. Watching the clouds and storms is a must! 🙂

        1. Haha. You read correctly. It is much more open out here. We have a good size yard with a hill and trees at the back of it. I shouldn’t complain about the lack of the window since the house is positioned for a breeze to almost always go through the living area. One side is a slider to a deck which I thought about converting to a porch. I’m now on a mission (as of today) to find an accordion slider so I can open the whole wall and make the house a porch. I tend to get obsessive when I get an idea so am driving everyone crazy. Aren’t you glad you asked 🙂 🙂

I hope everything is well healthwise for you both and that you are enjoying this weather !!

  4. Thank you, TK…
You were right on with your analysis of yesterday’s storms…

Awesome light show last night around 10:30/11:00 looking south to the Cape from Taunton and Middleborough.

Did some figuring of rainfall/precipitation. Through June 30 (six months into 2016), we are running 19.1% below normal. If you add in the deficit from 2015, we are exactly 20% below normal (52.47″ with average being 65.61″). This is at Boston/Logan.

At TF Green/Warwick, they are -15.4% for the last 18 months.

Everyone enjoy this gorgeous weather! Happy Fourth of July weekend to all. God bless America!

  5. Have to keep an eye on late Monday night into Tuesday for possible rain threatening from the south. Most of the models trended north with that system today and some (NAM, CMC) now give us significant rain. Euro is still pretty far south though and that’s probably the most likely outcome.

    1. Feom Me who watches Hallmark movies on Saturday……..that isn’t a score of 20 to 1 right????? I had to have read it wrong

  6. Don’t you wish you have
Theo Epstein back 😉 but no no one wanted to keep him, now look at the club he is leading … Just saying

  7. Losing 21-2 or 1-0 counts the same in the standings. 🙂 It’s one loss.

I said this team would be playing a lot of entertaining games this season, one way or another. It doesn’t mean they are going to be winning all of those entertaining games.

They are delivering as promised, though from a fan’s standpoint, it may be a tad frustrating. 😛
